8 Bible Verses on Godly Living

8 verses

As followers of Christ, believers are called to live a life that honors God, transforming their minds and hearts to reflect His character. According to Romans 12:2, this involves being renewed in mind and transformed by God's will, while 2 Timothy 3:1-9 warns of the dangers of a worldly lifestyle and encourages believers to pursue godliness instead. In 1 Peter 2:11, believers are exhorted to abstain from sinful desires and live out their faith in a way that is pleasing to God. By offering their bodies as living sacrifices, as Romans 12:1 teaches, and becoming new creations in Christ, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 states, believers can live a life that is truly godly, bringing glory to their Heavenly Father.

Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth. They are depraved in mind and disqualified from the faith. But they will not advance much further. For just like Jannes and Jambres, their folly will be plain to everyone.
Beloved, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from the desires of the flesh, which war against your soul.
Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
