14 Bible Verses on Cursing

14 verses

In Scripture, the use of hurtful or profane language is strongly discouraged as it can harm others and dishonor God. The apostle Paul teaches that believers should let no corrupting talk come out of their mouths, but instead speak graciously to others, as seen in Ephesians 4:29 and Ephesians 5:4. The book of James also warns against the dangers of the tongue, noting that it can be tamed by no man, as stated in James 1:26 and James 3:8-10. Furthermore, Colossians 3:8 urges believers to put away filthy language, recognizing its damaging effects on relationships and one's own spiritual well-being.
