In the midst of life's challenges, God's Word offers guidance on surrendering to His sovereign control. According to 2 Timothy, believers have been given a spirit of power and love, not fear, to navigate life's difficulties. The Bible teaches that God is always in control, as seen in Psalms, where He is described as a refuge and strength, and in Isaiah, where He promises to uphold and help His people. Additionally, Proverbs and 1 Corinthians remind us that self-control is a vital virtue, and that God will not tempt us beyond what we can bear, but will provide a way of escape.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it.
Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who does not control his temper.
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.
He who is slow to anger is better than a warrior, and he who controls his temper is greater than one who captures a city.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.
Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord.”
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
