In the pursuit of spiritual growth and humility, the apostle Paul cautions against measuring oneself by comparing to others, as seen in 2 Corinthians 10:12. Instead, Galatians 1:10 and Galatians 6:4 encourage believers to focus on pleasing God and examining their own work. This mindset is further emphasized in Philippians 2:3, where Paul exhorts the community to esteem others more highly than themselves. Ultimately, Romans 12:2 reminds believers to be transformed by renewing their minds, rather than conforming to worldly standards or comparing themselves to others.

We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they show their ignorance.
Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Each one should test his own work. Then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in someone else.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Can’t you see for yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you actually fail the test?
Make every effort to present yourself approved to God, an unashamed workman who accurately handles the word of truth.
For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think of yourself with sober judgment, according to the measure of faith God has given you.
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, or his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
