In God's plan, each believer has a unique purpose and role to fulfill. According to Ephesians, this involves living a life worthy of the calling they have received, with humility, gentleness, and patience. The Bible teaches that God's calling is irrevocable, as stated in Romans, and that believers should strive to confirm their calling, as encouraged in 2 Peter. Jesus Himself spoke of choosing His disciples for a specific purpose, as seen in John, and Jeremiah reminds us that God has plans to prosper and give hope for the future. This calling is rooted in God's sovereign will.

As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received: with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, and with diligence to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Therefore, brothers, strive to make your calling and election sure. For if you practice these things you will never stumble,
You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will remain—so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.
Brothers, consider the time of your calling: Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were powerful; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received:
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and not all members have the same function,
To this end, we always pray for you, that our God will count you worthy of His calling, and that He will powerfully fulfill your every good desire and work of faith, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.
He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time began.
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying: “Whom shall I send? Who will go for Us?” And I said: “Here am I. Send me!”
