1 sermons

The term "theologian" as a specific label does not appear in the Bible; however, the concept of theology—understood as the study of God and religious belief—is woven throughout the biblical text. In essence, a theologian can be thought of as someone who engages in the study or interpretation of God’s nature, attributes, and actions as revealed in Scripture. The Bible itself presents various figures who fulfill a theological role, such as Moses, David, the prophets, and ultimately, Jesus Christ, whose teachings delve deeply into the nature of God and His relationship with humanity.Theologians today often draw from passages such as Psalms 19:1-4, which speaks of God's glory revealed in creation, and Romans 1:20, which highlights that God's invisible qualities are understood through what has been made. Furthermore, Jesus’ emphasis on knowing God (John 17:3) underscores the importance of theological understanding in the life of faith. Therefore, while the term "theologian" is not biblically defined, the practice of theology is inherent in the study of Scripture and the pursuit of understanding God’s will and character.
