Spiritual House

10 sermons

The concept of a "Spiritual House" in the Bible refers to the community of believers as a dwelling place for God's Spirit, with each individual being a living stone in this spiritual edifice (1 Peter 2:5). This idea is rooted in the Old Testament, where the tabernacle and temple served as physical houses for God's presence, but is fulfilled in the New Testament as the church becomes the spiritual house, with Christ as the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). As the apostle Peter writes, believers are being built into a spiritual house to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:5), and as the Psalmist declares, God is the shepherd who guides and protects His people, making them dwell in His house forever (Psalms 23:6). Through faith in Christ, believers become part of this spiritual house, where they worship and serve God in spirit and truth.
