Hell And Torment

1 sermons

Hell and torment are profound themes in biblical theology, reflecting the seriousness of sin and the justice of God. The Scriptures present hell as a place of eternal separation from God, where those who reject His grace face the consequences of their choices. Jesus vividly describes this reality in Matthew 25:46, stating, 'And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.' This dichotomy emphasizes the permanence of each individual's eternal fate. In Revelation 20:10, we read of the ultimate fate of Satan, where he is cast into the lake of fire, symbolizing the ultimate judgment and torment that awaits those who oppose God. Furthermore, in Luke 16:23-24, the parable of the rich man and Lazarus illustrates the anguish and torment experienced in hell, as the rich man begs for relief from his suffering. The Bible teaches that hell is not merely a metaphor but a real and terrifying consequence for those who choose to live apart from God’s redemptive plan. As believers, understanding the gravity of hell should compel us to share the hope of the Gospel, as Paul writes in Romans 10:14, 'How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?'
