For example, in Acts 24:16, the Apostle Paul states, "So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man." In 1 Peter 3:16, believers are encouraged to conduct themselves honorably, so that even if they are accused of wrong, their good behavior may silence criticism. Similarly, Hebrews 10:22 speaks of drawing near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience.
