Christ Our Redemption

2 sermons

Christ is our redemption, a profound truth woven throughout the fabric of Scripture. In 1 Corinthians 1:30, Paul declares that Christ has become for us wisdom from God, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, highlighting the multifaceted nature of His saving work. Through His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection, Jesus fulfills the ancient promise of redemption foretold in the Old Testament, as seen in Isaiah 53:5, where it is prophesied that by His wounds we are healed. This redemptive act not only reconciles us to God but also transforms our lives, imparting blessings and mercies that flow from His grace, as expressed in Ephesians 1:7, which states, "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace." Furthermore, Romans 3:24 affirms that we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus, emphasizing that our salvation is a gift, not a result of our own works. As believers, we are called to live in the light of this redemption, reflecting the love and grace we have received, as instructed in Colossians 3:16, where we are encouraged to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom.
