Christ Our Mediator

1 sermons

Christ stands as the ultimate Mediator between God and humanity, fulfilling the role foreshadowed in the Old Testament sacrificial system. As outlined in Exodus 26:15-37, the intricate design of the tabernacle and its furnishings pointed to the necessity of mediation for approaching a holy God. In the New Testament, this theme is beautifully realized in Jesus Christ, who, as stated in 1 Timothy 2:5, is the one Mediator between God and men. His sacrificial death on the cross not only atoned for sin but also opened the way for believers to have direct access to the Father, as proclaimed in Hebrews 10:19-22. Furthermore, the author of Hebrews emphasizes that Jesus serves as a high priest in the order of Melchizedek, offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice, thus rendering the old covenant obsolete (Hebrews 7:27). Through His intercession, as described in Romans 8:34, Christ continually advocates for us before the Father, assuring us of His grace and mercy. In understanding Christ as our Mediator, we grasp the profound depth of God's love and the lengths to which He has gone to restore fellowship with His creation.
