Chosen Vessels

10 sermons

In the biblical context, "Chosen Vessels" refers to individuals who have been selected by God to fulfill a specific purpose or mission, as seen in the example of the apostle Paul, who described himself as a "chosen vessel" to bear the name of Christ to the Gentiles (Acts 9:15). This concept is rooted in the idea that God chooses and equips certain individuals for His service, as stated in Romans 9:21, where it is written that the Potter has the right to make from the same lump of clay some vessels for honor and some for dishonor. According to 2 Timothy 2:21, those who cleanse themselves from evil and make themselves holy will be "vessels for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work." This doctrine emphasizes God's sovereignty and the importance of humility and obedience in the lives of believers, as they strive to be useful vessels for the Lord's service, as encouraged in Psalms 100:2, where believers are called to serve the Lord with gladness.
