Mar Mari Emmanuel teaches that true salvation and fulfillment come only through the narrow gate of the cross, not the wide gate of worldly distractions and false security.
In this sermon, Mar Mari Emmanuel challenges believers to choose the narrow gate of the cross over the wide gate of worldly distractions. He emphasizes that true salvation and inner fulfillment come only through God, not through possessions, people, or success. The message calls listeners to focus on God amidst life's busyness and to recognize the emptiness that worldly pursuits cannot fill.

The Lord said, strive to walk through the narrow gate because many will try but they will not be able to walk through that narrow gate. What is the narrow gate? The cross. The narrow gate is the cross, the holy cross.
You may have heard this before being said or mentioned by us before. It is always good to hear it again. You see, the wider gate can bring many people at the same time through it because the way is very wide and when you come to walk through that wider gate you can yourself enter it and every human being and everything that is attached to you can also enter with you at the same time.
The Lord is saying, you may be surrounded by people, you may be surrounded by many things and maybe a lot of things are going good for you, health wise, prosperity wise, social levels, economical level, at all different levels things are looking at the brighter side. You are happy, you're excited and you are so preoccupied with everyone's voice except God's. See, because when you are surrounded by people, people are keeping you busy, people are keeping you preoccupied and the line is engaged.
God is trying to call, He is unable to come through because you are on the call with other people and so many things in life you don't have the time to call God. And the Lord is saying, even though the wider gate may look good, may taste good, may be seen good to you but not everything that you see good is good really for you. Let God choose the path for you, let God choose the gate and the way for you.
But there is a problem with the wider gate. No matter how many people are with you and no matter how many things you may have and possess, but all of that put together cannot save you, cannot deliver you when we hit rock bottom, when we face a challenge that is beyond us and above us, when we walk through the dark tunnel, it is then and then only we realize it is only God who can come to my rescue, no one else. Even the closest people to me, no matter how much they love me but they cannot save me, they cannot deliver me from what I am going through, it is only God that is capable of achieving such thing.
So with the wider gate, you bring so many people with you, maybe those people are your family, maybe those people are your cousins, maybe those people are your best friends, the closest people to you. You are going, you are coming, you are being invited here, there and everywhere and you are so busy with everyone and everything except God. But one thing with the wider gate as well, since it fits you and fits everything with you, unfortunately you will always carry with you the luggages of the past, the haunting memories, the haunting failures, the haunting burdens, the haunting struggles of the past, the haunting dark moments of the past and it is only human nature, the moment we look back and look at the past, it is naturally by us, we focus on negative things of the past, we never look at the good side of the past, we only focus first and foremost on the negative things.
When we come through the wider gate, every luggage, every burden, every illness, every sickness, every weakness, we bring with us and no matter how much we are happy with people and no matter how much we are busy with people and so preoccupied and we're flying here, eating here, dancing there, dressing there, building here, achieving here, but when I put my head on the pillow, I am still empty from within. So many celebrities, so many famous people, so many rich people, so many influential people committed suicide and they wrote, no matter what I tried to do under the sun with all the wealth and with all the power I had, I was never able to fill the void, the gap, the emptiness from within, I was never able. They sang and they cried later on, they drank and they were miserable the following day because the moment we close our eyes, what do we see? One empty, dark space, endless.
