Testimony, Ben Wenger

Turn to Revelation chapter 13, please. My name is Ben Winger. I'm in fellowship with the Broadhead Gospel Hall, the Christians there.

I was saved in 2012 in a series of meetings that our brother Jim Smith has had. He's passed on now, but many know him. As the two other two that were up, I was born and raised in a Christian home, Christian parents, went to gospel meetings.

Everyone that was near I was at. And as Ben Collins said, I didn't really appreciate it as a young boy, but looking back now, it was the best thing that ever happened. I was always troubled about my soul.

Meetings would come, meetings would go, and I'd always be troubled, but it'd just be that thing, I'll get it some other time. I don't really want to deal with it now. And I'd forget about it when the meeting would be over, and I'd go home and next day things would be going on on the farm.

A lot of things to keep your mind occupied, and I'd just forget about it. But 2012, for many that lived in this area, there was a drought that year. Things didn't grow.

And the night before I was saved, Jim Smith was out to the house, and he was talking with my parents about things in the book of Revelation that were going to come to pass. And I'm not going to name them all right now, but when you think of what's going to come to pass on this earth, it should trouble each unsaved soul tonight. And so they were talking about, in verse we're going to read here, Revelation 13, verse 16, it says, And He caused all, both small and great, rich and poor, free in bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads, and that no man might buy or sell save he that had the mark or the name of the beast or the number on his name.

You know, that year nothing was growing, and I don't know if that's how this verse is portrayed, but how God brought it to me is times ain't very good. And if things go bad with crops, someone's going to have to get the mark of the beast. And then I knew that those that had the mark of the beast were doomed for hell.

And that's just how God spoke, brought that to me. And I was very troubled about it. And the next day, I got home from school, and my mom sat us all down on the couch, and we found out that my sister had got saved that morning.

And that really spoke to me. And then my brother Sam told us that he had gotten saved a year and a half earlier. That really spoke to me.

And in a lot of some families, it doesn't have to work this way, but I thought, well, I'm next in line. Now it's my turn. And I was just real stirred up, and I had been troubled for the last couple of nights.

And so I went and did my chores, and I went back out, come back in the house, and went up to my room. My sister gave me a track that had verses on it, and I went to my room with my Bible, and I read the track, and I read the verses, and nothing came. We're going to turn to John chapter 19.

The last verse on the track was John 19 and 30. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished. And that's all I read.

I didn't even finish the verse. I just read, it is finished. And I just rested that the work is all complete, and it was done for me.

You know, that's all it is tonight. The work is finished. You just have to rest upon it.
