The Church: The Birth
Stephen Kaung

Stephen Kaung (1915 - 2022). Chinese-American Bible teacher, author, and translator born in Ningbo, China. Raised in a Methodist family with a minister father, he converted to Christianity at 15 in 1930, driven by a deep awareness of sin. In 1933, he met Watchman Nee, joining his indigenous Little Flock movement in Shanghai, and served as a co-worker until 1949. Fleeing Communist persecution, Kaung worked in Hong Kong and the Philippines before moving to the United States in 1952. Settling in Richmond, Virginia, he founded Christian Fellowship Publishers in 1971, translating and publishing Nee’s works, including The Normal Christian Life. Kaung authored books like The Splendor of His Ways and delivered thousands of sermons, focusing on Christ-centered living and the church’s spiritual purpose. Married with three children, he ministered globally into his 90s, speaking at conferences in Asia, Europe, and North America. His teachings, available at c-f-p.com, emphasize inner life over institutional religion. Kaung’s collaboration with Nee shaped modern Chinese Christianity.

John nineteen, thirty-four and thirty-five. 唯有一個兵拿槍炸他的樂堂,誰就有誰,有血和水流出來。 看見這事的那人就做見證,他的見證也是真的,並且他知道自己所說的是真的,叫你們也可疑信。 But one of the soldiers tears to his side with a spear, there came out blood and water, and he who saw it bare witness, and he knows that he says it too, that he also may believe. 以弗所第五章,我們從二十五節下一半念起。 Start from verse twenty-five, second part. 正如基督愛教會,為教會捨己,要用水藉著道,把教會洗淨成為聖潔,可以獻給自己做個榮耀的教會。 毫無玷污,皺紋,動慮的病,乃是聖潔沒有瑕疵的。 Even the Christ also loves the assembly, and has delivered himself up for this, in order that he might sanctify it, purifying it by the washing of the water by the word, that he might present the assembly to himself glorious, having no spot or wrinkle or any of such thing, but that it be holy and blameless. 使徒刑犯第二章,我們從第一節念到第四節。 從天上有響聲下來,好像一陣大風吹過,充滿了他們所坐的屋子。 又有石頭若火焰顯現出來,分開落在個人頭上。 他們就都被聖靈充滿,按著聖靈所施的口才說起閉國一語。 And when the day of Pentecost was now accomplishing, they were all together in one place, and there came suddenly a sound out of heaven, as of a violent impact. And every day, being constantly in the temple, with one accord, and breathing breath in the house. I would like to start. When God created man. Among those people, The church can be produced. 第二 第二那孔子的原則 是聖餐之苦的報告。 The second better to govern Is the travail of the prayer. 教會的產生 是基督聖餐的苦難。 So we know The travail and prayer of the Lord 沒有聖餐的禱告。 No travail and prayer. 就沒有教會的產生。 No church was produced. If there is no difficulty of the birth, 教會不能產生。 Otherwise the church cannot be made. 所以一中之美。 So this is the principle Which govern the birth of the church. 第三點 The third. 我們在這裡看見說 在一百二十年 當聖靈將 When the Holy Spirit came upon them 他們就 這個就是教會。 你們雖然多 人是一個身體。 Though you are one body, Have many members. 我們知道那裡的那基督。 So we know 弟兄已經受過了。 So our brother already mentioned about 當我們這個聖體 Cannot receive the baptism on earth. 我們在當初內凡 Among those who belong to the Lord. That name 我的名 My name So that indicates to us The name of the Lord is the very center. 但是現在 In other words, when Christ 我們今天聚集 是順他的名聚集。 Today we gather together in his name. 我們在那裡 Two or three is in This one paradise 已經沒你不了了。 Of ways 我們看見在當時的時候 We show the meaning of God. 他們同心合一。 Maybe with one accord. 哦,聖經一直給我們看見他們一心一意。 And the Bible shows us So the world may know that you sent me.
