David Demian

David Demian (birth year unknown–present). Born in Egypt to Coptic Christian parents, David Demian is a Canadian ministry leader and founder of Watchmen for the Nations, not a traditional preacher, though his teachings carry spiritual weight. Raised in the church, he excelled academically, pursuing medical studies and a successful career as a doctor. In 1984, God called him to leave medicine to prepare the church as the “bride of Christ.” He became a prominent leader in Egypt’s Christian movement, training young professionals to impact the Arab world with the Gospel. Married to Ruth, a Canadian doctor, in 1987, they moved to Canada in 1988 for their first child’s birth, intending to return to Egypt, but stayed after divine guidance. Joining Bob Birch’s group, which became Watchmen for the Nations, Demian initiated “The Gathering” in 1995, fostering worship and prayer without agendas. He assumed leadership in 1998, guiding reconciliation efforts across Canada and globally. Based in Vancouver with Ruth and their seven children, he continues to lead gatherings emphasizing unity and revival. Demian said, “My passion is to walk with God and see His bride prepared.”
