Sermon Transcription
Forming power of the grace of God Now these are basic truths that everybody knows every believer knows these truths but We have to access them. That's the key because life in the kingdom Doesn't work if we don't access the grace of God and it's quite simple to do it But it has to be done consistently And so I want to kind of give a little Overview of some of the truths related to the grace of God and give some real simple ways to access it so that your life can walk out this plan of Transformation and liberty and freedom that God's ordained for you. Let's read in Romans chapter 12 Paul gives one of the most practical basic principles of kingdom life He says be transformed By the renewing of your mind be transformed by the renewing of your mind now the Transformation he's talking about is our emotions being transformed changed Because of our emotions are changed then our character will change We won't have deep and lasting change in our character without our emotions being changed And so Paul's telling us the way that the emotions are changed is by changing the way that you think by renewing your mind now what he means by renewing our mind is Cultivating a mindset that's in agreement with what God says about your life Let me say that again the renewing of the mind What Paul is talking about he's talking about what he introduces in Romans 5 in Romans 6 we're gonna look at in a moment Here in Romans 12, he's looking back to those chapters Saying now those principles I've laid out Cultivate a mindset to where you agree with what God says about Your life and who you are to him and if you'll do that Eventually, it will change your emotions You can walk in liberty and freedom from the heart and again that that is the key To deep and lasting change in our behavior and our character Now our natural tendency is to focus our attention on our emotions Like we feel depressed we feel rejected. We feel angry. We feel bitter. We think ah, that's the problem I got this ball of negative emotions Or we focus on our circumstances that are difficult Oh, these are so hard and Paul is telling us that the primary battleground is to change the way you think Because our natural light is to focus on the dark emotions or the difficult circumstances Paul says you're not going to win the battle essentially by aiming there first Focus on changing the way you think Because if you change the way you think it will change the way you feel and act and your circumstances will have a Correspondingly be impacted by that Now we can change our mind and God changes our emotions We can't by the force of personality and willpower Change our emotions like we can't grit our teeth and be determined. I am going to feel happy I am NOT going to be angry. You can't do that by the force of our own resolution Resolution and the strength of our personality, but we can change the way we think Now this idea of a renewed mind as I've mentioned He's talking about Agreeing with how God sees you seeing yourself in the way God sees yourself and there's quite a few truths related to this subject But they're all under the banner called being under the grace of God Have receiving the grace of God now when some people think of renewing their mind they think of mostly Staying out of dark perverse thinking like, you know, the guy says all this pornography is bad I got to renew my mind. I I can't be involved in that so I could be transformed and I would say well Yeah, that's true for sure but this isn't mostly about Don't watch dirty movies It's a far bigger point the Paul saying he's saying cultivate a mindset Where you interpret your entire life through the lens of grace? Cultivate a mindset where you interpret the whole of your life through the lens of grace We evaluate our life through the grace of God We establish our identity in the grace of God We measure our success Through the grace of God, which is very different than how man measures success We see our future through the lens of the grace of God we process our failure through the lens of the grace of God and more but that's just a General idea and all of this changes the way we think and feel I mean the way we feel and when we begin to feel Different then our life begins a whole new course a whole new trajectory And we walk in freedom and liberty from the heart in a progressive way Now it's not like once we start in this path Everything just gets better and better and better sometimes You know, it's three steps forward two steps back three steps forward two steps back But still we're going forward over the months and years. We're gaining ground in this Walking in Liberty walking in freedom called transformation Remember the number one battleground in your life is the mind Change the mind and other things will change focus your attentions there. I Have written here in paragraph a our emotions are not transformed by trying harder trying harder to have peace That didn't work trying harder to not be mad. That is a trying harder not to be frustrated Doesn't work that way our emotions are changed by seeing more clearly When we see more clearly, that's what changes our emotions not by trying harder Paragraph B. Now, let's go back to the passage that Paul's actually referring to when he says renew your mind Let's go back to Romans 5. This is where he's introducing some of the most profound truths in the Word of God Starts here in Romans chapter 5 verse 17 He said those who receive the abundance of grace. That's a big subject This is much more than being forgiven and going to heaven when you die. I Love the truth of being forgiven that is huge And in my case it takes the abundance of grace to cover me and I'm sure that many of you would agree about that in But the abundance of grace is far more than an Extravagant grace to forgive the abundance of grace implies much more than that again. It's a whole lens through which we view life Paul goes on to say You've received the abundance of grace and you've received the gift of righteousness and you'll reign in life through Jesus I mean what a remarkable statement because you can't receive the favor of God Unless you walk in the righteousness of God, so that's a dilemma God's favor won't be released in your life unless you walk in the righteousness of God But none of us have the ability to walk in the righteousness of God by our own strength. We can't do it So the father says I'll give you righteousness as a free gift my son's own Righteousness, I will give it to you as a free gift as you commit yourself to him and his leadership You get the gift of righteousness Which means the gift of favor, which means the issue is settled You don't have to wonder where you stand with God. It's settled. It's a gift You can't earn it You can receive it and the favor and the acceptance of God goes with that gift And so it settles our heart in a dramatic way Because when we have confidence when we stand before God even in our weakness We have confidence that he enjoys us. He accepts us. We have favor in his presence when we have confidence Our emotions begin a whole different course and journey ahead I mean we go in a very different pathway than if we don't have confidence and Paul says you have every room for confidence every reason for confidence. You have received the abundance of grace You have received the gift of righteousness Everything has been settled so that you can reign in life now to reign in life means that you'll have the forgiveness and the empowering of God The daily forgiveness. I mean we get a new beginning every day with God. I mean what a remarkable truth Every day is a new beginning with God but not only that we have the empowering of the Holy Spirit to Successfully and Consistently do the will of God in our life. That's what it means to reign in life Some people read reign in life and they think of mostly being over other people Being better than or being over or having more honor than others That's their idea of reigning in life and they look at this verse and go I don't know what that means What it means is you'll have the ability to do the will of God Successfully and when if you do the will of God successfully Even if the will of God of your life, which is true of ninety nine point nine nine nine nine nine percent of us It's it's a small assignment God gives us God says I'm not asking you to do a big assignment. I asked you to do the assignment. I gave you it's small and Many people don't notice or appreciate what you do in the will of God But God says I do and if you succeed in doing the will of God The Bible calls that reigning in life and he says that's what the grace of God will result in you will reign in life Now he goes on in verse 20 and he develops the idea a little bit more He goes, let me tell you how far this is going to go. Let me tell you how sure this is your basis for confidence Where sin abounded? Grace will abound much more. What a dramatic statement wherever sin abounded Grace will be more powerful so regardless of the amount of sin or addiction to wrong things or Shame or anger or fear or rejection in the place of sin you can add also the dark emotions Related to our fallenness just the fact that we're fallen we have the whole human race has fallen in sin and we have dark emotions What Paul is saying? No matter how strong Those dark emotions are fear Rejection shame all kinds of things like that anxieties or your behavior sin patterns Grace will abound much more There is an extravagant forgiveness to give you a new beginning every day The scripture says his mercies are new every day you wake up every day in the Lord says we begin new if you want in Terms of your failure your past failures gone. It's completely out of the equation in terms of my relationship with you But not only do we get a new beginning Grace abounds much more There's power if we access it and again, I'm gonna talk about that in just a moment how to access it But it's got to be done and it's got to be done regularly If you'll access it The Lord is saying Paul is saying no matter how much how deep that stronghold of sin was in your life grace will abound Now this isn't just related to our individual hearts and our particular Character it's related to cities and nations and families and ministries, you know, when I look at the body of Christ in America There's a lot of folks slot slipping into compromise and people Falling away and denying the truth of the Word of God. There's a there's quite an increase of that going on in the last five Or ten years Yes, there's another element of people becoming more radical for the Lord and that numbers growing too But the Bible tells us that Jesus is going to return for a victorious Church when the Lord returns The church will be walking in purity and power in unity. I look at the church now I go Purity power and unity. There's a whole lot of Ground that needs to be gained between now and then and the Holy Spirit has an answer where sin abounded Grace will be more powerful. The forgiveness will be sufficient and the power will be greater Beloved there is no sin you can do that's greater than the extravagance of God's forgiveness There's no sin you can do you can't compete. You can't outrun the grace of God if you'll repent of it There's no bondage. There's no addiction. There's no failure That's stronger than the grace of God if the grace of God is yielded to and accessed in our personal lives So that's where Paul starts and he lays out this truth. Let's go to paragraph C Let's go from Romans 5 now to Romans 6 Romans 6 is the premier chapter where Paul really breaks down this idea of the grace of God Now remember we started in Romans 12 Paul at the towards the end of the book is looking back saying those truths in Romans 5 and 6 are The truths that I'm talking about that you need to renew your mind You need to cultivate this View of your life through the lens of grace and your heart will get transformed your emotions will get liberated Paragraph C Romans chapter 6 verse 14 and 15. I mean talking about another dramatic statement This statement of Romans 6 14 is similar to the one we just read in chapter 5 verse 20 It's different language, but it's the same general idea He makes this bold I mean encouraging statement sin shall not have Dominion over you like wow, I mean he was declaring it. He wasn't suggesting and he goes this is your inheritance All believers are weak and broken There are no super saints that this comes by they come by this naturally This is not about how dedicated somebody is. It's about the power of the grace of God the extravagant forgiveness and the Liberating power that can be accessed Sin shall not have dominion over you Now when you use the word hear the word sin, we all automatically think of sinful behavior But associated with it as I said before are the dark emotions that are associated that are the result of our fallenness because we're sinful people and I'm talking what he's saying is he says that addiction that wrong behavior Those wrong emotions those fears that rejection that shame that anger that bitterness That will not have dominion over you. Yes, it will tempt you Yes, it will challenge you Paul's not talking about sinless perfection right here He's saying but it won't have the upper hand on you like it did before There's a way in God to that which was overwhelming in your life as a stronghold Where you have victory over it again, it doesn't mean it totally disappears It's still temps. It's still challenges, but it's very different because now it doesn't have dominion over you You're gaining the victory over it Again, it comes at you, but you're not captivated by it in the way that you were Well, this is another way of saying that we're sin abounds grace abounds more He's saying the same thing in a different term in different terminology And I would look at that and I'd say Paul How can you say that? I mean so many believers they come into the kingdom with such deep strongholds of sin and fear and shame and bitterness and anger and rage They come into the kingdom. They're forgiven, but those thought processes though He's emotional patterns. Those strongholds are still operating in their life Paul says but over time Doesn't need to have the Oprah the upper hand over them and you could say well, how could you say something that bold that broad? I mean this for everybody that's a believer. He would say everybody Well, that's a pretty bold statement to say to the general populace of the you know, just everybody in the kingdom of God How can you say it Paul says because of this truth, you're no longer under the law, but you're under grace now there's a lot of truths and ideas that go with those two phrases under law and under grace There's only two positions That the human race can stand before God everyone on the planet is Either they relate to God under law or they relate to God under grace. There's not a third option there's only two options and So every unbeliever when you were an unbeliever before you were saved before you were born again you were under the law but Paul says something radical happened when you accepted Jesus as Your Savior and the Lord of your life when you committed yourself to his leadership in his care You committed yourself to his plan for your life Hey guys, you came under this whole realm of grace the reign of grace is what Paul called it in Romans 5 You're under this new liberating power You're under this new Extravagant forgiveness, but it's more than liberating power and extravagant forgiveness. There's a whole new Perspective of how you interpret your life now You don't interpret your life in the same way that you did when you were under law Let's uh, look at this a little more detail here paragraph D When you are under the law Which again you're you're one of two positions Everyone in this room is in one or the other position every person on the earth is you're an unbeliever. You're under the law If you're a believer, you're under the grace of God. This is from God's point of view Now if you're under the law That's a real rough place to be Because you have to be perfect To get to receive God's favor Any man or woman that's under the law. They have to be a hundred percent perfect a hundred percent of the time to get God's favor Well, what's that mean? That means they will always live in condemnation They will always live with a sense of not having confidence in God's presence. They're under law They're doomed as long as you're under law to live under condemnation That their sin accuses them. They're under the law Well being under the law You gotta earn You got to earn God's favor if you're under law Paul says you're not in that position no more You've received the free gift of righteousness You've received the abundance of grace. You're no longer under that regime so you don't have to You don't have to live unsure how God looks at you and thinks about you because if you have that Uncertainty even as a believer your emotions stay stuck in condemnation and accusation Well being under the law means more than earning God's favor being under the law also includes You're living in the limitations of just human power and human strength Meaning when anger rises up in your heart All you have is the strength of your personality to restrain or contain that anger Lust rises up in your heart. All you have is the force of your personality not to do it Not to express the bitterness the anger the love He goes you're really limited in your power source. You've only got the strength of your personality. That's it. Nothing more Because if you're under grace You receive the indwelling spirit you receive a whole new power that you can interact with It's a person the Holy Spirit, but a whole new power comes into your life in the grace of God You got to access it, but it's there it's within reach So Paul is telling them he goes your problem is that you're born-again believers God sees you as under grace But because your mind is not renewed you haven't caught up with the truth about who you are You're living like you're still under the law You're uncertain where you stand with God You're not sure if God delights in you if God enjoys the relationship with you. I mean, you know conceptually he does technically He loves you, but it's a truth you admire, but you don't really feel the power of it And many believers Though from God's view they're under grace Practically speaking. They still live like they're under law now When you live under the law When you live that way Satan curse his number one strategy. We all know is to accuse Believers night and day that's what it says in the Bible. He accuses us night and day That's been his strategy throughout the whole course of human history and He hasn't changed his strategy because his strategy is so effective. He doesn't need to change it. It works so well And what it means that Satan accuses us is that he's constantly telling you God is unhappy Your your failure is too great He makes you so conscious of your failure and so fearful of God's displeasure in your life that it it it Hinders and quenches your ability to enjoy your walk with God your relation with God So here's a believer. They're under the grace of God from God's view But because their minds not renewed they keep relating to God in the uncertainty That they had when they were under the law Satan's accusing He's reminding you of your failure He's threatening and warning you that God's unhappy you're at the end of grace You're a step away and it's all over there is no hope there is no chance of a turnaround that Emotional mindset that mindset and the emotions that go with that hinders us and Quenches our ability to enjoy our relationship with God That one reality if we don't if we don't feel God enjoys his relationship with us And we don't enjoy our relationship with him. We're not going to grow in the things of the Spirit We're gonna be stuck on that one issue right there, and we don't even know that's the issue Our emotions are dull and we feel shameful or feel burned out We feel we just feel dulled inside and and we come to pray or read the word or do work in the kingdom Say God, I value the kingdom and I value your leadership, but I just don't like any of this to be honest I mean, I like you. I like heaven. I like all that, you know Lord, but I'm not really enjoying this and that's because We are still coming before the Lord with a bit of uncertainty now theologically. We know we're forgiven But emotionally we don't have that Buoyancy in our heart we don't have that Heart that feels confidence with God Paul says if you stay stuck in that place of rejection and uncertainty even a little bit of it You won't enjoy the Lord sin will continue to have dominion in your life. You won't get on the right trajectory To where the stronghold of sin and your emotions you break the power of it Hey guys, it's based on Enjoying The fact that God enjoys you and you enjoy him. It's based on that it that's foundational to it. And so many believers Sin still has dominion over them or their dark emotions related to their fallenness and they can't get through them You know, they've been in every prayer line. They've gone to classes and they can't get through it Paul says I'll tell you right now You got to settle the issue That you're not under law You're under grace the favor is yours the power lives in you being under grace means there's a power in you There's an authority that you have in the to use the name of Jesus But it's not just you got to be under grace from God's view. You got to access the grace You got to take hold of it You got a you got to access it and operate cause the grace of God to be operative in your life Well, how do we do that it's so simple I'll use the analogy that I've used many many many times over the years but the way that we operate We activate the grace of God in our life as I'd rather say the way we activate the grace of God in our life the grace That's available But the way it actually touches us is we have to say what God says about our life It's that simple, I mean there's other dimensions to that we have to be sincere with the Lord and some things like that But I mean in the fundamental sense the primary core principle We have to say what God says When he looks at our life you think really that's it. I think that is one of the the Spiritual principles that is almost ignored Universally throughout the body of Christ, I mean not entirely there's some that really take hold of that But many many believers they look at that and they think well, that's not that big a deal. That's what will Access the grace of God in your life. What do I mean by that? Well, the enemy comes and he tells you I you feel dull your feet your emotions feel defiled You feel like you've gone too far. You got all these temptations rising up. You're thinking. I don't know you feel hopeless Paul says works it abounded grace abounded more every situation could turn around Every life can turn around every marriage could turn around every nation could turn around every situation Can turn around if they will say yes to the grace of God We'll see. I know technically and the Lord says no. No, not technically line up with me Hold on to that and say it back to me. That is your stand before me Well, it doesn't look that way no, no, no, no, you gotta agree with what I say, you gotta agree with I say Well, I did this really horrible thing last week I just still feel rotten about it and I'm you know, I don't want to pray for anybody in the ministry time I don't want to read I'm just gonna put myself in probation for about three months I'm gonna let you spiritual probation and I'm gonna let you know God how much I'm suffering Because I sinned in that Grievous way so that you know how sincere I am. So I'm gonna go sit on the sidelines and just suffer Now are we even three months I've suffered the Lord says all that was a waste of time That's how a man under the law relates to me You're not under the law. You're under grace. I Want you if you commit that grievous sin Repent of it and within the hour stand in boldness in the truth of who you are before me Declare I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus what I mean declare I don't mean you have to boldly loudly say it But you have to say this to your own heart before you say it to the Lord. This is your confession You speak it to the devil. You speak it to the enemy. This is who I am and this is how I stand The I've received the abundance of grace. That's who I am. My life isn't hopeless and over I'm not a failure God evaluates my life very differently than man evaluates my life. I'm under grace God's definition of success Jesus is is so gracious. I mean he's so gracious in his evaluation He's so values the small and the unknown and unrecognized things you do in your life that nobody values He values it beloved that's being under the grace of God So when the enemy comes your sin is too great God's are ready to throw you out of the kingdom or at least sideline you your life is wasted. You're not making any impact Jesus says you give someone a cup of cold water in my name. I'm gonna remember it forever I see the small things. I see the internal movements of your heart. I Value them your life is successful. You're doing the will of God Yeah, you're not making a big impact where all the nations know who you are, but you're doing my will you're reigning in life And then you go really? Devil in the name of Jesus it is written. I've received the abundance of grace. I've received the gift of righteousness I am reigning in life right now And when I stand before the Lord the smallest acts of obedience The smallest movements of my heart towards him will be valued Remembered and esteemed openly by him. My life is succeeding right now. I'm not a Hopeless hypocrite failure with no hope I have hope I'm in the grace of God beloved that mindset and several things that go together with that by speaking the word over the dark emotions and The sinful temptations Speaking what God says about you sin will not have dominion over me I'm not under law trying to earn God's favor. I have God's favor I'm not under law limited to the power of my own human personality. I have the indwelling spirit I have the authority the name of Jesus I'm under a leader that evaluates and esteems small things that nobody else recognizes and rewards them forever That's who I'm under. I'm under the grace of God sin isn't gonna have dominion over me I'm not gonna get stuck in that downward spiral of negative emotions I can't get out of it. So I my character will change Beloved you get stuck in a downward spiral of negative emotions shame fear Rejection lust and then you try to on your own try to transform your behavior. It's not gonna happen It's not gonna happen Paul says you want to walk free from the dominion of sin meaning where it doesn't have the upper hand on you Again still tempts you still challenges you you got to develop a whole mindset of who you are as a person under grace and when the contesting Voice of the enemy and the dark emotions and the negative circumstances come don't just give up and give in Speak the Word of God over them take your stand It may take a while before you see the change, but the change will come the change will come Now the enemy wants us to give up and give in. I mean he really does Half of his battle is getting you to believe you won't change and nothing will be different If you believe you won't change and nothing will be different. He's already got you have defeated right there. That's a total lie That's the opposite of who you are under the grace of God Being under the grace of God is more than forgiven you've got a again, you've got a Liberating power inside of you You have a teacher in you the Holy Spirit that will give you whispers and hints of where to go and how to go forward You have a leader over you Jesus who evaluates your life with such Generosity and he's so esteems and values small little things that no one else even values in your life He says oh, I value those they move my heart You're doing well. You're reigning in life. You're moving in the right direction Well done, you know really this is what it feels like I tell you when you get into that emotion with confidence All of a sudden you run to him instead of from him when you stumble Because you run to the one safe place the one who's smiling when you come into his presence that goes I'm with you I have power to make this different for you But you don't have this knowledge that you're under the grace of God. You live like you're under the law still I Tell you that again that negative Spiral down emotion then yet it gets worse and then you try to change your behavior under the weight of dark emotions And you just fail and fail and fail and Paul says renew your mind cultivate a mindset of grace of God Evaluate your life through the lens of God's grace Now let's look at a paragraph Roman numeral two just in the next five minutes here Again, I'm just I leave you a bunch of thoughts just to kind of give you some Some different facets of the grace of God. There's more that could be given I just wanted to use one page here being under the grace of God Again, we have to say to God what he says about us in order to access his grace We are accepted by God Again the enemy's number one issue is to get us accused To get us fearful were rejected to get us focused on our negative emotions our negative behavior We get focused on it. We won't grow in confidence before the Lord confident that he delights in us and Confident that we can enjoy him and enjoy the relationship even while we're still growing in our spiritual life Look at paragraph C Under the grace of God, we've received a new power. It's an indwelling power the indwelling spirit a real person He not only empowers us when negative emotions rise He leads us he gives us insight little whispers and hints as we walk through this maze of a Complicated life everybody's life has so many dimensions and and but he says I'll teach you I'll show you Little whispers and hints mostly not dramatic interventions, you know with an audible voice of the Lord, but hints He goes I'll show you it. I'll lead you even when you read the word I'll give you a little whispers on you know, relating and coming and going and you've got help. I'm with you I'm with you. You're not Aimless and lost and without direction without power without a new beginning all those are lies but many believers actually feel that way and they kind of hunker down in that feeling and just like well, I Guess it's just miserable But Paul says no don't do that go the other direction, let's look at paragraph D. This is a really important paragraph D The Holy Spirit gives us new power and I've shared this a number of times over the years It only takes a minute to share But you got to do it Beloved the Holy Spirit lives in you a real person now he lives in your spirit and We can't measure what's happening in our spirit by our mind and emotions our mind and emotions Can discern physical natural things but our mind and emotions we can't feel what's happening in our spirit so we have to believe what God says is happening to our spirit and So God says the Holy Spirit lives in there and you can feel his presence sometimes But he came to live in you In your spirit and he will empower you now When he came to live in you he came with all the fullness of God You know the person living in your spirit has the fullness of love and peace in his spirit and joy and patience He has fullness of it. So the the analogy I've I love to use because it's so We can all relate to it You get angry you get frustrated you get angry so an angry emotion rises up in you What many believers do is they just kind of grit their teeth? Ride the emotional storm for five minutes or five hours or whatever it is. Oh Okay, I feel better. That was weird. I was so mad and They let that just the natural process of negative emotions dominate them for a you know Five or ten minutes or five or ten hours, whatever it is There's a different direction when an emotion a negative emotion like Anger we can put this on many different. I mean we can apply this to many different negative emotions What you do is you turn the attention of your mind to your spirit the Holy Spirit you talk to him Don't ask him for patience Thank him that there's peace already inside you. I turn my mind to the Holy Spirit He dwells right in your spirit like a Holy Spirit. You're a real person You're really there not Fictitious not theoretical you are really there. I'm not under law. I'm under grace. That means you're there That's part of being under grace, and I say Holy Spirit My natural emotions are angry and frustrated. I pause turn my attention inward. I say thank you for peace Something as simple as that I pause I may be right the discussion right in the middle of the heat of it Thank you not give me peace. Thank you Thank you for peace. I talked to a person and that negative emotion just dispenses that it breaks up Comes back again, but I do the same thing comes back again, but I tell you the simplicity of Acknowledging his presence and thanking him for what's in your spirit that will change your entire emotional life to do that That's how you access the grace of God I know many believers that never do that When lust rises in them, they just try to get to the lust when frustration They try to get through the frustration when a sense of rejection or fear they hang on tell it's over the Holy Spirit says Thank me for peace Thank me for joy. Oh Life is hard everything circumstances look inwards. Thank me that I there's already joys in your spirit Now again, our spirit man is different from our soul our souls our emotions it will touch your emotions But you've got to do that lots of times Is that like you do it once on Wednesday and you're covered for the month? It's not that kind of thing It's called abiding in Christ. It's interacting with him on a regular basis Beloved you can access him that way his power or the enemy comes in attacks. Oh the enemy's attacking me Tonight fearful my kids are attacked. Do you ever take the name of Jesus and tell Satan to be gone? Well, yeah, I mean I did that before did it before are you kidding? That's a regular Way that you live life when the enemy comes and knocks on the door of your family. You don't just say oh, I'm getting hit Use the name of Jesus and command him to leave you have to say it to him Say in the name of Jesus, I command you I rebuke the spirit of fear on my child that's coming at night I rebuke this attack coming against our finances Well, I know that Jesus is Lord and he won't let anything happen and I trust his leadership He says no I gave you authority. We're in this together use it Thank me for my presence in you. Thank you for the authority that you have When sickness comes to your family Don't just ride out the sickness and I mean go to the doctor and do normal natural wise things but rebuke it lay hands on on the person and pray over it and It may not go away right away and it may not go away But in the ultimate sense because God says even in the resurrection Everyone's that's a believer gets healed for billions and billions and billions of years But a lot of that healing is released as down payments in this age And we never know the full measure of how it's going to come or or when it's going to come but we take our stand every single time now, there's a difference between a healing and a Miracle a healing is progressive a healing you may pray ten thousand times Over the course of a long time and it slowly changes a miracles instantaneous most people Only value miracles They don't like the progress of healing people come up to the prayer line Well, they hands on them nothing happens and the Lord says yeah, actually it did it did there's a continuum there's a thousand of you that are gonna pray for this person over a period of time and I see the whole thing together and I see the continuity of it. How do you know it didn't make any difference? Well, they didn't have a miracle nothing. I couldn't see nothing The Lord says under my leadership in the grace of God my evaluation the way I do things Every one of those words that you spoke every prayer you prayed every person you laid hands on It's part again of a continuum of a connection of one of maybe many Installments so to speak of God touching them and then suddenly some time passes and the guys heal Well, which was that what that was the last guy who prayed the Lord was not really I know what I'm doing I got my whole family involved in this But my point being we have to access it we have to access it now the analogy if I used on the have the worship team come up is the the over the years is the the homeless beggar living under the bridge You know and the and the lawyer finds him finally and says hey I got news for you You're one of your family members died. You inherited a hundred million dollars and this Vega of this homeless beggar under the bridge is you know freezing cold and he goes a hundred million dollars Yeah, but sure you got to walk down to the bank That big building down there because there's a hundred million dollar guy is that's where he banked and you got to walk down about ten Blocks of that bank and you got to access the money and it sure's and the poor beggar goes ten blocks. I Big building that's scary looking to me and I don't really like bankers because I know they don't like me I'm gonna walk in there. I'm gonna fill out a place I don't know how to do technology how to push those buttons to get that money. I think I'll just stay under the bridge a Lot of people when they're born again, they receive a bank account a spiritual bank account of great wealth But they never Access it. They never go to the bank and draw it. It's real simple walk to the bank talk to me Well, I don't like beggars. They don't like me. Everybody doesn't want me there. I'm look confused I don't know what to do when I get there. I'm not good at the technology The devil will give you a hundred reasons. Why not to access the grace of God that guy doesn't do it It's for the rest of his life in poverty. He accesses it very simply He can live in wealth if you will say what God says Anger rises up. Thank you. Holy Spirit. You got peace enemy attacks in the name of Jesus The enemy tells you you're a failure you say no, I'm reigning in life. I'm doing the will of God It's not a big sensational thing that everybody gets it, but God esteems it is valuable My life's important you've sinned grievously, but there's new mercy every day the abundance of grace God delights in me I delight in him those simple little Interactions Activate the grace of God in your life and beloved No sin will have dominion over you if you will live like a person under the reign of grace And we're sin abounded grace will much more abound in your life and in your family Amen, and amen I Stand before the Lord let's Let's just ask him just to release the grace of God in our life This is so simple. This is so fundamental. I know how many of you've been here for years You've heard me go over this over over the years, but it's just that simple truth that we're
