Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Sermon Transcription
His revelation in the Word of God, it sometimes conflicts with what he has previously been taught. This causes you to have to deal with old traditions or wrong teaching. These tapes may contain some new light from God's Word, and it may be opposed to some traditions you have previously learned. Therefore, follow through these messages in your Bible, in sequence, in order that you may be able to make a choice for the Word of God, rather than the traditions of men. This is tape number four in a series. We urge you to listen to all the tapes in the series in numerical order, so that the whole teaching can be received and understood. Listening to a part of the series, or to the tapes out of sequence, can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. So I said, be merciful just as your father is merciful. Do not judge, and you'll not be judged. I'm telling you, the moment you judge somebody, the judgment is on you. You have a problem with the powers that I have. This reason we started last night, getting some people free. Well, you're kind of glad we started that way last night? There's no use waiting until we... We used to do this thing opposite, Bob. We used to wait until the meeting's over to do that. So, when you judge, do not condemn, and you'll not be condemned. I could go through some scripture to tie in right there with these right here, but I'm not going to take the time. Pardon, and you'll be pardoned. If you have unforgiveness in your heart, can you tell when somebody has unforgiveness in their heart towards someone? You can tell it when it comes out of their mouth. Is that right? You can tell when somebody is condemning people. You can judge judging. All right, give, and it's going to be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over. Now, have you give out judgment, and mercy, and unforgiveness, and condemnation? You give these things out. It's going to be given to you, a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over. It's going to pour into your lap. By your standard of measure, it's going to be measured to you in return. If you pour out blessings, you know what's going to come on you? Blessings. You pour out judgment, you know what's coming on you? Judgment. And I'm going to tell you something, folks. If the sun goes down or when the sun goes down before that next day, you've got a problem. And the only way you're going to know it is walking a walk of peace, purify your heart, to walk in peace, to take, and of course, you're not going to understand what peace is until you're taken, ever thought captive, until you're really getting in the war with all your heart. Amen? Now, you know who's going to make you successful at this? The Spirit of God, because there's no way you can stand to figure it out. You can't memorize enough scripture. You can't know enough to do it. It has to be our God. Amen? You just get in on it. All right, now, verse 39, "...He also spoke a parable to them, a blind man cannot guide a blind man. Can he? Will they not both fall into the pit?" Now, there would be the blind teacher, that false prospect, who would lead you, be a servant of unrighteousness, and if he's going to become your source, then the blind follow the blind. But if Jesus is your source, you're going to examine all things carefully. Isn't that right? Now, look at verse 40, "...A pupil is not above his teacher, but everyone after he's been fully trained..." You've either been fully trained by Jesus or you've been fully trained by some teacher. And he said, you're going to be like your teacher. Now, who do you want to be like? Some teacher? Or do you want to be like Jesus? Then you better receive the thing and confirm the thing that comes from him, that's here from Jesus, amen? All right, now, once again, it says, verse 44, "...Each tree is known by its..." What? "...It's known by its own fruit, for men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush." Now, I want you to remember this. We're going to see this same scripture over in James a little later. All right, now, this is a big verse in 45, "...The good man out of the good treasure of his heart, he brings forth what is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil. And you can tell where his heart is, for his mouth speaks from that which fills his..." What? "...heart." Now, you're seeing two different kinds of trees right there all the time. You're saying, why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say? And then, isn't it good? Now, why do you call me Lord, Lord, and you're speaking from evil heart? All right, you see what I'm saying? Because he goes ahead, and I'm not going to read these other two verses, but it gives an example about the different foundation. One hears the word of God in verse 47, and he acts on it. And we see in 49, the other one hears the word of God, and he does not act on the word of God. He's got himself another foundation. He's acting on something else. Amen? Now, turn with me over to James 1. James 1. James 1. Now, we just remember seeing the fiery trials in 1 Peter 4 after the... Why don't you stand up with me? Just stand up with me. There's a kind of stretcher. We'll just look at your Bible and while we talk a little bit, and just say there a while. About the fiery trials, expect them. Don't be surprised at them. Isn't that right? Okay. Now, nobody's having any problems hearing now the word of your God. There's nothing coming against you, are there? Is everything all right? Okay. Now, verse 2. Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials. Look at me in verse 12. I mean, look in 7, please. We see that, let not double-minded. He's not going to receive anything, my Lord. We understand no scripture in that realm. What does double-minded mean? That's when your heart is going both directions, in obeying and for the Spirit. Amen? You're trying to walk both ways. Now, let's look at verse 12. Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial. For once he has been, what? He's approved he's going to receive the crown of life. And that's which the Lord has promised to those who love him. The one that loves him is going to obey his commandments. Is that correct? Now, let's look in verse 12. I mean, let's go to verse 13. Let no one say when he's tempted, I'm being tempted by God. For God cannot be tempted by anyone, and he himself does not tempt anyone. Who are we to tell him to be tempted? The powers of darkness come to tempt, just like they tempted the first Adam, just like they tempted the last Adam, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the boastful pride of life. Look at me here just a minute. They come to bring pride. They come to bring ego. They come to bring rebellion. They're always there anytime anyone does anything against you, to bring unforgiveness, resentment, anger, murder, hate, strife, jealousy. They bring those things right there which we've been reading. They come to tempt you to get your heart to agree with these kind of things. Are you with me? And who is it talking to there in verse 16? Do not be deceived by what? We are talking to the brethren who can be deceived. Is that correct? The brethren are the one that can be deceived. Is that what your Bible says? And any brethren that think they're not going to be deceived by them, have a false security somewhere. Is that correct? Because what are they going to bring? They're going to bring the very things that we're told that Paul said, I fear for you. Is that right? That the powers of darkness are going to bring, your minds are going to be led astray by another gospel, another Jesus and another spirit. So what do they do? Verse 14, but each one is tempted when he is what? When the powers of darkness come and tempt the brethren and carry them away when they're enticed by what? They say, come alive, bride, come alive, rebellion. Amen? Selfishness and self-centered. Is everybody with me? Okay, is everybody with me? I see some that's not with me. I wish you, quit listening to that demon and look at me. Now, this is life right here, all right? Now, you get free from it. Now, verse 15, then when lust is conceived, you receive this pride. That's the seed of Satan. It's conceived. You start meditating on it instead of resisting. It brings birth to sin. That is rebellion. And then sin is accomplished. Sin is accomplished when you're in agreement in your heart and then it's bring forth death. That's sin and death. And if you might want to write out from that Romans 6, 16 and 17. All right, now, let's just continue right here. In verse 19, after he said, now, what are the powers of darkness going to come to do? Look at me. Look at me, folks. You're supposed to have up a shield of faith and this is how they're going to tempt you because they're wanting to put rebellion in your heart. And then they want to work death, sickness, disease, spiritual death into you. You hear what I'm saying? And you're supposed to have up the weapons of your warfare and you're supposed to resist all these things. And so that's the reason it said in verse 19, then you know, my beloved brethren, but let everyone be quick to hear and watch. You better watch your mouth, slow to speak and slow to anger. Isn't that right? For the anger of God does not achieve the righteousness of God. So what are you supposed to do? And you see this verse incidentally, this next verse right here in the very last chapter in Revelation. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness, you put aside... Notice that word all, all, all, all that remains of wickedness. Now, that remains to put aside all of rebellious flesh nature. In what? You're being humble and then you receive the word what? Implanted. Now, it cannot be implanted in your heart if you're loving rebellion. The word will not be implanted in your heart if you're loving the world, the things of the world, which is the parable the word is teaching us, because it's how Satan steals the word out of your heart, because he brings the worries of the world, the deceit and the riches to steal the word from your heart, see? Isn't that right? If you can't receive the word implanted, which is going to be able to what? Save your soul. Now, any of you, when you get ready to sit down, just sit down. But you're going to prove yourself what? Doers of the word and not merely hearers, because the one who just hears of the word, they are deluding themselves. Is that right? But go ahead to see that, it goes ahead to explain in these next three verses right here, that you come and look in the mirror. Now, everybody look at me. Now, in Jesus' name, I take authority over all destruction right here. I seal it with the blood in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I remove it in Jesus' name, and I remove all confusion and all mind-wandering in Jesus' name. And I speak peace. Let's just go ahead and read it. For if anyone is just to hear of the word, he's not a doer. He's like a man who looks at his natural face in the mirror, and once he looks at himself, and gone away immediately, forgetting what kind of person he is. In other words, his natural face... Look here, folks. To just make this some kind of exercise, you just want to look in here and salve your conscience or something, you come in here to look at this word to see if you and the word, your heart's in agreement with the word. Amen? And you receive the word implanted, and you let go of all filthiness, and you're quick to listen, but you're slow to speak because you want to examine carefully where everything's coming from there, that you don't agree with the devil, and you're speaking judgment on yourself. Amen? So here's how you look at the word of God in verse 25. But the one who looks what? You look intently. You look intently at the perfect law. That's the word of God, the law of liberty, and what? You don't analyze it. You abide by it. And you're not becoming a forgetful hearer, but you're what? You're a doer of the word, and that's exactly what we saw in the last part of Luke 6 and it's the last part of Matthew 7. If anyone thinks himself to be religious and does not bribe his tongue, he deceives his own heart. This man's religion is worthless. You see that? It's absolutely worthless. Now, I want you to hold your place right there, and I want you to look with me just a moment in Ephesians 4. Turn back to Ephesians 4. Ephesians 4, praise Jesus. Now, verse 22, that in reference, in verse 22, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old cursed nature of the old man which your heart used to be married to. You've got a new husband. His name is Jesus now, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lust of deceit. You lay that aside. Is that right? Now, look with me in verse 26. Be angry, yet do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your anger. Is that plain? You better not let the sun go down on your anger. Why? Verse 27, because you'll be given a place or an opportunity to the devil. That's one of his schemes to bring anger to you. Amen? Okay. Now, look at verse 29. Let no unwholesome word... Now, this got in your Bible to do, not skip and pick and choose. Let no unwholesome... A form of godliness doesn't even pay any attention to this. Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such word is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger... There it is. The works of the flesh. ...clamor, and look at that, slander, be put away along with all malice. Do you see that? It's all removed from your mouth. Do you see that? Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you. Amen? Now, let's look back over to James 2. James 2. So, since we know we're judged... Don't you remember something, folks? When we're led by the Spirit of God, you're not under the law or under judgment, are you? Amen? But that's what Jesus Christ becomes Lord. But if you kind of make Him Lord, you get another Jesus, and you get another gospel, and you get a form of godliness, what do you think you do? You're saying what the church is saying, but the powers of darkness are controlling the thing. Do you understand what I'm telling you? You're bearing the fruit of the devil. It's not the fruit of the Spirit. And think and walk and obey, and you surely shall not die. Peace. Now, look at verse 12. I want you to mark these right here, and don't read past them. So speak, and that means your mouth. Those two words circle them. So speak, and so what? Act. Now, that's one and two. Those two things. You speak your mouth, and you act. That means you walk as those, those, those who are what? Judged by the law and liberty. Because I want you to know the Word is what's going to judge you in the last days. Isn't that right? It's not how you appear to others. For judgment, verse 13, for judgment, circle that judgment, will be merciless to the one who's shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. Now, when you start showing mercy, you find God all over you. When you quit condemning and slandering God, you'll find a new presence of the Lord in your life. Amen? When you quit these things, you'll find out God's encouraging you and helping you. I went through some mighty hard spots to learn that. All right, chapter three. Now, here's how you overcome, folks. Verse two. Three and two. For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, his mouth, see a bridling mouth, he is a perfect man and he's able to what? If you watch your mouth, then you can bridle a whole body. Is that what your Bible says? You start being slow to speak and quick to hear. Amen? Okay, in verse seven. No, I don't want to go to verse seven. Let's go to verse six. The tongue is the fire of the very world of iniquity. The tongue is set among our members as that which what? Your tongue is going to devour your entire body. It's going to separate, make you double-minded. And it sets on fire. Your course of your whole life gets affected. Why? Because the powers of darkness get ground in your life, in your whole life. And what's it set on fire by? By hell right there. It's set on fire by hell. And that's exactly what it is. Now, look in verse eight. No one contain the tongue. It's a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With the tongue it blesseth. Lord and Father, with it we curse men who've been made in the likeness of God. Now, that curse men, you know what that means? Just exactly. Judging men, slandering, criticizing men, and on and on. Are you hearing me? That's how you curse men. That's how you curse them. And say, from the same mouth, verse 10, come blessing and cursing my brethren. This is the way things ought not to be. Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? Now, this is a double-minded man that received nothing from God. May I remind you of something? You know what comes over in the fifth chapter? What does it say over there? You anoint with oil, and they will be restored. Amen? Well, isn't that interesting? This all comes before James 5, 14, and 15, then, doesn't it? So when you had a form of guidance back there, you had to turn away and start explaining the way the Bible here and everything, because everybody would always die when you anoint them with oil. Because double-minded men don't receive from God. Amen? Now, I want to ask you something. I want to remind you of another thing. In Luke 4, did Jesus show us the example? He overcome the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boast of the pride of life. After he was filled with the Spirit of God, he never cast out a demon and healed a sick person. In verse 14, that's when the power of God came on him. He walked in the church house and said, The Spirit of God is on me. I've come to set the captives free. That's when the power came on him. Amen? That's the example of you and I, a pure heart. Not until you get somebody to pray for you. And if you want someone to pray for you, if you want something to happen, you find somebody with a pure heart while you're purifying your own heart. Amen? So, didn't we read this over in Matthew 7, also in Luke 6? Look in verse 12. Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Neither can salt water produce fresh. Now look at me, folks. The reason... Now, somebody's not looking. The reason that people want to speak curses against slander and gossip and everything, it's because of their own advantage that they want. They're finding a place somewhere besides pleasing. If your heart... Look at me, folks. If your heart's trying to look good somewhere else besides before the Lord, you're seeking approval somewhere else. You understand? You know what that's called? Selfish ambition. You'd be jealousy, envy, and all these kind of things operating in you. But when you're only wanting to please God... Now, listen to me. When you're only wanting to please God, when you seek His approval, you're not rejecting. I'll tell you, rejection's on you when you seek approval. You've set yourself up for rejection when you seek the approval of people. I mean, you're sitting there with it on you right now. It's on you right now. You've got rejection when you seek the approval. See, you're never rejected in the beloved. You seek the Lord's approval in all things, all in one. And He's the one that blesses you. And He can bless you a lot more than folks can. Amen? So then, why selfish ambition? They take the... When you speak blessings and curses, that is selfish ambition. Now, I wonder what the source of that would be. The powers and darkness. They're the ones that come to stir it up. They always tell you to seek advantage before you make Jesus Christ Lord. They say, hey, listen to me, folks. This is what you've got to understand. Their darts come to you. Listen to me. To tell you how to take advantage of every situation for your flesh, self, first nature. They tell you how to take advantage. They tell you how to put words out. This is how they do. People who teach and preach the word of God. They use things to intimidate them and thoughts and everything. Now, you won't look good if you just say that like it is. You better pour a little water on that right there. And or they'll put something to... They'll have some man to intimidation about him. A person that they can intimidate this teacher the most with. Put it in his mind right before he's going to read this word of God. And then he'll kind of build something somewhere else rather than building up the life of Jesus. And then the minute he compromises, he loses authority. And Jesus is really not working with him when you do that anyway. It's all over until he repents. If he repents. Amen. So, we see in verse 14 that people who speak blessings and curses, there they are. Verse 14. If you have this bitter jealousy and selfish ambition where? Now, look at it. It's in your heart. Now, when it comes out of your mouth, where it's coming from? It's coming from your heart. So, don't be arrogant and lie against this word of God. Is that what your Bible says? If it's coming out of your mouth right there, these curses, your problem is your heart. Don't be arrogant and lie against this word. Amen. All right. Let's see where this kind of wisdom comes from in verse 15. This wisdom, please circle this wisdom. This wisdom is not that which comes from above. This is not the wisdom that Bob was talking about this morning. This is a different kind of wisdom. You know where it comes from? It's the ways of the world, the flesh, and it's all stirred up and controlled by the demons. What about that? Isn't that plain? This is the way the world speaks curses. Amen. The flesh loves to, it likes to exalt, be of selfish ambition. It'll look down and speak against. And then, this is what the demons come to bring to people's mind. Are you following what I'm saying? Okay. Now, I want you to see real what the Lord calls people like this. Let's go walk both directions. Verse 4. You what? You adulterous, you harlots. You harlots. Do you not know that friendship of the world is what? This is hostility toward God. Whoever wants to be a friend of the world, that walks at the flesh. Flesh loves the world. He makes himself an enemy of God. Now, he tells them in verse 1, What's the source of the quarrels and conflicts among you? The source is your pleasures. That's your flesh. That's waging war on your members. They're in opposition to one another. So you're not choosing to die to the flesh. You're choosing double-mindedness, which adulterous harlots have a form of godliness would do. Verse 2. You lust, and you don't have your way, so you just commit murder. And you're envious and cannot obtain your way, so you fight and quarrel. And verse 3. When you pray, you don't receive from God, because you're praying with what? You pray with the wrong motives. When you're walking down to a double-minded place, you don't get your prayers answered. And I could go on to some other things over in John 15 to show you when you bear much fruit, then ask whatever you will. It's in the Father's name. He's going to give it to you, which is opposite. When you walk after this, you don't get your prayers answered. And see, that's how the prayer of... Let's look over in James 5. That the prayer of what kind of man availeth much? A righteous man availeth much. Isn't that right? That's the reason it says that you will be restored. Amen? Now, let me just remind you of something right there. That Revelation 13... Well, in 18, it talks about Babylon, which is the harlot who loves the world. She's a mother of harlots, produces harlots in the last days. She's a dwelling place of demons, and this is exactly where they're coming from right there. And also in Revelation 13, 11, it talks about the beast that comes up out of the earth, which is Babylon, I believe, which looks like a lamb, but she speaks as a dragon. May I ask you, who is this right here speaking as a dragon, speaking the words of Satan? Looks like a lamb, looks like the church, but speaks, but speaks as a dragon. Now, I want you to look with me... By the way, I want to remind you of something. In New American Saturday, Psalm 81, 15, those that hate the Lord are the ones who pretend obedience to him. Now, that's an adulteress, and their time of punishment is forever. Now, I want you to turn with me to Matthew 15, please. Matthew 15, Matthew 15. Now, a person is going to be double-minded if they're following a form of godliness, they've got another Jesus or another gospel, amen? All right, now in verse 18, it says, "...the things that proceed from where? Out of the mouth." Where do they come from? They come to the heart, and what does this do? "...it defiles the man. For out of the heart comes evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, theft, false witness, slander." Do you see those things? It's all coming from the person's heart. Now, do you believe when it's coming out of the mouth, do you think that person loves Jesus with all his heart? He loves the deeds of darkness, doesn't he, if he's practicing these things, right? All right, now, these are the things, verse 20, "...which defile a man, but to eat with unworshipped hand does not defile a man." Now, we see what Jesus has to say about these people right here. Do you think Jesus has a heart of people like this? Absolutely not. Look at verse 8. "...this people..." Back up to verse 8. "...this people honor me with..." What? "...their mouth, but I don't have their hearts. Their hearts are over there still with the devil, and double-minded." It doesn't look very plain in what he says about them. "...in vain..." Do they what? I can't hear you. "...they're worshiping me, and they're lost." Are you hearing me? "...in vain do they worship me." Why? They're teaching as doctrines. They're finding doctrines that have you double-minded right there, which are the opinions of men, the precepts of men. Is that very plain? Look at verse 14. "...let them along, they're blind guides of the blind. If a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into the pit." Amen? Now, I want you to look with me in Titus 1, please. Turn with me over to Titus 1, and we'll see this. Titus 1. Now, we're talking about a pure heart or impure heart. In verse 15. "...to the pure all things are pure." Now, are you seeing the gospel, folks, that Paul was warning them about right there, huh? Are you seeing them gather around another Jesus and another doctrine, which they could have double-minded, that the powers of doctrines would lead them that way? And what kind of words is coming out of their mouth? The words of Satan. Isn't that right? Is everybody seeing that? And see that this is why they've got these doctrines of men, which have come from servants of Satan, who disguise himself as surgeons of righteousness. Right? That's very plain, isn't it? Somebody shake your head or shout or something. Okay. All right, now, in Titus 1, verse 15. "...to the pure all things are pure, but to those who are..." What? Now, that's those who have a divided heart. They are unbelieving. Defiled and unbelieving is the same thing. Anybody who has a defiled heart is an unbelieving heart, and nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but by their deeds or walk and talk, they're denying Him. A defiled person is being detestable, they're disobedient, and they're worthless for the works of Jesus. Now, tie that to 2 Timothy 2, prepared for every good work with a pure heart. That's the opposite of it right there. The defiled heart cannot do the works of Jesus because Jesus is not going to do the works of doing if he's not overcoming. Are you hearing me? All right, now, I want you to look with me and first, just back up there a little bit to 1 Timothy 6. 1 Timothy 6. 1 Timothy 6, verse 3. If anyone advocates a what? A different doctrine. That does not agree with the gospel right here, the sound words, those who are Lord Jesus Christ, and with this doctrine or gospel that conforms you to godliness. May I ask you, does this doctrine, this gospel right here, conform you to the image of Jesus? Does it tell you we will not make provision for rebellion? Amen? Is that right? All right, if there's another doctrine that shows up that permits carnality, that you can practice carnality, or that you're going to sit on the throne, verse 4, he is conceited and they understand nothing. I want you to mark that, understand nothing, that's ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. But they have morbid interest in controversial questions. Mark controversial questions because, look at me, folks, when anyone has a doctrine or a structure they've got to permit, they'll come and attack you with a controversial question and speculation. He believes that all sickness is sin. He believes that Christians can have demons. Just always controversial, speculation, speculation, speculation. Never sit down and come to the knowledge of the truth. You get pushed off a cliff because all that prudence of spirit doesn't come out. He is conceited, he understands nothing, but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions when you've got another doctrine. And they like to dispute about words out of witchcraft. Here comes envy, there comes strife, there comes abusive anguish, and there comes evil suspicion. Torment. It's just pure torment. And constant friction between these men of the brave mind deprive the truth. They suppose that godliness is a means of gain. Look at me, folks, that you can take godliness and make it an opportunity for the flesh, your name, reputation, career, art. Are you hearing me? So, in Mark 7, back up to Mark 7 with me. Now most of you, probably we've gone through many of these things with, but I'm going to tell you we had to renew this where we're headed. Now verse 20, Mark 7, verse 20, And he was saying, That which proceeds out of the man, that means his mouth, that is what defiles a man. For from within, now that's inwardly, that's his heart, out of the heart of men, here it comes, and it comes out of his mouth, evil thoughts, fornication, theft, murders, and adulteries. Out of his mouth and heart comes deeds of coveting, wickedness as well. Look here, out of his mouth is coming deceit, out of his mouth is coming sensuality, out of his mouth is coming envy, out of his mouth is coming slander, out of his mouth is coming pride, out of his mouth is coming foolishness, and all these things are coming from where? His heart. Jesus does not have this man's heart. Is that plain? He's defiled. All these evil things proceed within and defile a man. Now I'm going to tell you about a man like this. If anyone ever comes to the light and he sees himself in this place right here, he will come to the light. And he'll put it to death. Now that's a Christian. May I tell you, that's the body of Christ. And you'll be able to tell them by their what. They'll come to the light. Amen? Is that right? Praise Jesus. Boy, I'm telling you what, the grace of God is something. Did it say it's a narrow way and small as a gate? Back up there to verse... Let's back up to verse 6. And it said to them, rightly did Isaiah prophesy, you hypocrites, it's written, this people honor me with their lips. In vain. I don't have their hearts. Their hearts are divided and defiled. They're not following this gospel. They've got another gospel and another Jesus. And look at me. Look at me, folks. Somebody's probably saying, with this precepts and doctrines, man, you surely shall not die. You surely shall not die. See, that's the doctrine of Satan. Amen? All right, now. But in vain do they worship at me because they've received this doctrine Paul was afraid of over in 2 Corinthians 11. Satan's been doing the same thing to bring rebellion, the lust of the flesh, the lust of man. And tell you, look here, folks, that you can come and you can find security in a doctrine and then you can go eat off the tree of death, have rebellion in your heart, and then say, you surely shall not die. Praise Him. You surely shall not die. Now, let me show you what this doctrine does. When the doctrine gets your heart, when the structure gets your heart, and that's what the powers of darkness did to the Pharisees, and they could not receive any new light because they thought they already had all the light. And anything that showed up, the Bible or God, He said, I speak the things I hear from my Father and you are doing the things you hear from your Father. You want to do the desires of your Father. It's got your heart. And He is of God. Hear the word of God. You don't hear Him because you're not a God, because you've got yourself another gospel right there. In vain are you worshipping Me because your teaching of doctrines, the opinion of men, has been handed down to you. There it goes in verse 8. You neglect the commandment of God and you just want to keep holding on to your traditions. Amen? He notices and says, you set aside, you just love these doctrines and you set aside to keep your tradition. Verse 13, when your heart gathers around this thing, you invalidate the word of God by these traditions and doctrines which you've handed down and you do many things such as that. Is that plain? Now Isaiah 29, very quickly. Isaiah 29. Isn't this plain? Isaiah 29. Now in Isaiah 29, we see about these people that draw near with their mouth their heart far from the Lord. This is where this came from over there. So we see verse 13, then the Lord said, because these people draw near with their words, they honour Me with their mouth. Belief service. They remove their hearts far from Me. I don't have their hearts because their reverence for Me consists of what? There is that tradition. That's what's got their hearts, it's their tradition. So He said in verse 9, I'm just going to let them be delayed and wait. Just blind yourselves and be blind. Just become drunk, but it's not going to become wine. You're going to stagger when out with strong drink. Now remember, look at me. You're just going to stagger and stumble in spiritual darkness. That's where the curse was in Deuteronomy 28, you'll stagger at noonday. For the Lord has removed the hedge, in verse 10, the Lord has poured over you a what? He's removed the head and there comes the powers of darkness. It's the spirit of sleep. The looting's influence, which you see in 2 Thessalonians 2. He has shut your eyes. There's a foolish virgin, the prophets. He has covered your head with seers and the entire vision is going to be words like your words of what? Ever learning, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Words of a sealed book, you're deprived of proof and have no understanding. Why? Because when you build liars in your heart, the Lord won't let you see the truth. Amen? So we see in the last part of verse 14, the discernment of their discerning men shall be concealed. If the powers of darkness are turned loose on, he removes all discernment and they don't even know they're in. That's why they're ever learning, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth because the powers of darkness just work people. That's why it becomes a dwelling place of demons because the demons are controlling. When doctrines of demons move in, demons move in. Amen? So we go over to chapter 30, verse 1, Woe to the rebellious children, declares the Lord, who execute a plan, program, doctrine. It's not mine. They make a lie. It's not of my spirit in order to add sin to sin. And we see there in verse 9, for this is rebellious people. What kind of sons are they? They're false sons. Sons who refuse to listen to the word and instruction of the Lord, who say to the seers, now you must not see visions, to the prophets, don't you preach to us what is right, tickle our ears, speak to us pleasant words, prophesy allusions, tell us on Sunday morning how righteous we are in our stiff-necked rebellion. Get out of the way. Turn aside my path. Let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel. Jesus. We don't hear it about Him. We're going back to Egypt. Now, folks, turn to 2 Corinthians 6. 2 Corinthians 6. 2 Corinthians 6. Now, I want to ask you something right here. If Brother John over there wants to walk in rebelling to God, if he wants to walk after the lust of the flesh, and he wants to practice, he doesn't want to give it up. And I want the Lord with a whole heart to tell me something. How can Brother John and I walk together? There's no way, folks. There's no way according to this Word. But I can pervert the Word of God, and then I can fix it where John and I, I can take hands and join my heart with the devil, or he can, or whatever. And we can just walk and find a false security and say, you surely shall not die. How did this get in the Bible? 2 Corinthians 6 verse 14. Do not be bound together with unbelievers, for what partnership have what? Righteousness and lawlessness. Could you walk with that man who practices lawlessness over there? He did miracles. He cast out demons. He prophesied all in the name of Jesus, but he practiced lawlessness. Now, how can you be bound with this fellow right here if he doesn't have the truth? Are you hearing me? If he's not coming with a whole heart. Do you know that's why a church discipline is? Because when you see somebody with this coming out their mouth, Proverbs says, a wise man will become wiser, but a foolish man, a scoffer, a mocker will hate you when you correct it. So I can correct you, and I can tell you the problem in your heart, and little brother, you'll deal with it, because you're wise. You'll come to the Lord and He's got all your heart. You won't annoy it. I can find a lot more wrong with you than I can me. And this is why we need each other. When I start dealing with some speck of you, I just want you to help me with some of these logs. Anything you see in my eye, I want to get it out of there. Why? Because I want to please Jesus. I want to please Jesus, not folks. Amen? Please the Lord with all my heart. And you see, that's what gets God in it. Amen? So then you'll have peace around you. This is how the church is supposed to be. This is the wall of the glory of Jesus that's around the church. The glory of the wall comes around the hedges around the church as long as they'll deal with all the sin inside and not compromise it. Amen? And that hedge gets moved and you walk in the fear of God. You know, when you see somebody's son, one person goes to him, he won't receive it, then take somebody else. Hey brother, John here sees the same thing there, brother. Now I know you want to, we don't want this in here. And I know you want to because Jesus got all your heart. Well, if you're angry, you don't want to receive it then. Get him before the church, treat him as a Gentile, put him out. Jesus doesn't have his heart. You already see it's coming out of his mouth and he's not dealing with it. Amen? That way you keep the glory of Jesus, which is a wall, which is a hedge. And you walk along these hedges and compel them, come in here, it's peaceful in here, folks. We don't have any rebellion in here. Just come in here and live with us, you know, and you will be restored. You lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. Because there's nobody in here getting glory except Jesus. Amen? Glory be to God. Isn't that good to let Jesus have all the glory? Why do we need any glory? So don't be bound together with... How can righteousness and lawlessness walk together? How can light and darkness walk together? They said, don't be partakers. 34, 17, come out from their midst and be separate, says the Lord. Don't touch what is unclean. And then I'm going to welcome you. And watch what the next part is. Then I'm going to be a father to you. Then you're going to be sons and daughters to me. Glory be to God forevermore. It's fit-throwing time, isn't it? That's the way it is. So, chapter 7, verse 1, next verse. Therefore, having these promises right here, let us... What? We're going to cleanse ourselves from what? All, all, all, all, all, all, all, all defilement. Amen? All of it. We're not conformed to our former lusts, which was ours in our ignorance and when we was in darkness. But now, like a holy one, we're holy in all, all, all, all, all our behavior. And we're going to cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh. Amen? All defilement of the flesh. And then we're going to perfect what? There it is, holiness and walk where? In the fear of the Lord. Praise God forevermore. Amen? So now, Hosea 5. Now, I'll tell you what I want to... Now, I want to show you how to cleanse the land. Now, you need to know... Let's go to James 4. Now, I stopped short over there. I want to just show you how you cleanse the land right there, folks. I want to show you just how you cleanse the land. You want to see how I overcome? When these things are in my life, my heart... What do I do? Right here, you're fixing the seat. James 4, 6-10, no, 6-11, okay? Verse 6, But he gave us a greater grace... Now, we already saw... Have we already gone through four chapters of James? We got over there to verse 4. 4, 4, and saw his adulterous and double-minded. Is that right? I can't hear you. Okay, you're double-minded. And so now, you need to know what to do. Amen? This is what you... Here's what you're going to do. Start in verse 6. This is how you cleanse yourself and you have a pure heart. You come before the throne of grace because Jesus has already defeated all that rebellion through the cross, the victory, the blood, Calvary. Verse 6, He gives a greater grace, therefore it says, God is opposed to proud folks, to people that walk with their flesh, but He's going to give grace to who? Number one, you humble yourself. And then, you humble yourself before... Now, look at me, folks. Look at me so you'll see what we're saying right here. Because I think some of you are missing it. You're coming to God and you know you're sitting there with a divided heart. Now, there's one thing of going and getting messages and hearing and getting revelation and things like this because you can't hear this one enough that I'm sharing here tonight. You can't hear it so much. Don't get bored with this one. Because when you get bored with it, there's something wrong with your heart. Because I believe this is one of the main ones in the Word. But first, you're going to humble yourself. Now, you've got to give this up. You've got to give reputation, selfish ambition. You've got to give it up. If you don't humble yourself before God, you give up reputation. Now, just decide you want to please God. You don't have to please folks. If you please God, folks, you've got to get pleased. Amen? Please God. He wants to bless you. He wants to do all kinds of things. You notice when you're going forward... Listen to me, folks. When you're going forward, you notice good things start happening to them temptations that ever bring somebody and you kind of get your coach and then you kind of stop and you gather around something and then what happens to you? All hell, just like James 3, has come loose on you. Amen? Well, Jeremiah said, if you fall down, get back up again. Amen? We're going to get up. You're going to get up and first humble yourself. Now, in verse 7, the second thing, you're going to submit to the whole counsel of God. You're going to submit to God. Everything God says, you're going to submit to it. Look at me. You're bound to God. You're bound to the Lord Jesus Christ. He has all your heart. You've humbled yourself and you're submitting to the whole counsel of God. Right? Then the third thing you do, get in a war. Get in a war. Put up this shield of faith and resist the devil. Don't receive this junk anymore in your mind. Don't receive this rebellion up there. Guard your heart which from it flows the issues of life. Amen? You guard it. You don't let it... So now you get in a war. You resist the devil. When he can't talk, he's got to go on. Amen? And the next thing there, go near to God. You just keep getting nearer to God. Get as close as you can to God and when you start getting close to Him, He's going to get close to you. Amen? And then the next thing you're going to do, cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts. You what? You double-minded folks that never get your prayers answered can get your prayers answered. All of them can get them answered. If you purify the double-minded, who shall ascend and heal the Lord? He that has clean hands and a what? A pure heart. That's how you get in the presence of the Lord. So you come and you confess this slander, confess this gossip, confess this judgment, confess this hate, confess this anger, confess this jealousy, confess this envy, confess this selfishness, confess all self-centeredness and everything and turn from it with all your heart and say, Lord, I don't know nothing, but You know everything and I'm falling after You. I'm not falling after man or anything else. I'm going to walk with the Jesus in Him and I'm coming with all my heart to please You. Amen? So you cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts. And what do you think is going to happen when you do that? Brokenness comes to you because the glory of God comes on people who repent. You've had it happen to you before and that peace has come on, then you lost it because you went back to rebellion. You didn't know this right here. And so there you are. You're going to be miserable, verse 9. You're going to mourn and weep. Your laughter is going to be turned to mourning and your joy is all going to turn to gloom. That is brokenness. That's brokenness before the Lord. You weep and cry before the Lord. And when you start dealing with sin, because His love and everything is going to come before you as holiness and grace, and then you see right then, verse 10, that's how you humble yourself, that's how you get in the presence of the Lord. And then that's when He exalts you. Folks, let me ask you something. Does your Bible here say how to deal with sin? Isn't it amazing that a form of godliness cannot see sin before you deal with sickness over there? I want to ask you something. Isn't it an amazing thing that we let experts who've never seen one person healed become experts about healing? Isn't that amazing? But He said you're going to purify your hearts, clean your hands and purify. You're going to deal with sin. Then you get over there and James 5. Well, let's just look at verse 11. So it warns you after you've done all this, so do not speak against one another. Is that right, Brethren? Don't talk about one another. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, he's speaking against this word of God. And he judges this word, law. And if you judge the law, you're not a doer of the law, but a judge because you want to be judged instead of letting God be judged. Is this plain? Folks, can I tell you something? As somebody that's been experiencing tremendous freedom here lately and I've not arrived, I tell you, my life's changing. My life's changing because I've got some bits and pieces and other things, but I want to tell you something, folks. I'm learning this and my life is changing and God's changing my life. And pray for people to get free. I'm telling you, you know what I'm doing? I'm coming to life. I'm going to tell you something, folks. If you're slandering and judging and unmerciful other people, if you'll get this thing right, if you'll get this thing right, if you'll get this thing right before God and just start and watch him telephone conversation because the devil will have somebody call you up, just suck you right in, just pull you in on gossip and everything, you'll be amazed, you'll be amazed how much of your conversation is spent in fault finding. You'll be amazed how much Satan is controlling your life. And you know in the midst of all this is a people who manipulate flesh. We manipulate flesh and call it God, act like God's there or something. He's not in 25 miles of it. Do you hear me? As a matter of fact, folks, I think it's pretty dangerous to walk that way because after all, when you find out you've got a false security to practice it. Is that right? Satan has a ministry of hell. I'm going to go ahead and show just a couple of things right here. I want to show you about the mark on the forehead. I did this to some lately, but since we've turned back to Hosea 5, I want to show you something right here. Now, the foul people are the ones that have a divided heart. Is that correct? Hosea 5, Hosea 5, is that right? Hosea 5 verse 3, I know Ephraim and Israel is not hidden from me. Now, I'm going a little too fast. I'm going to wait till you get there. Hosea 5 verse 3, I know Ephraim and Israel is not hidden from me. And now, Ephraim, you have what? Played the harlot, the adulteress. Why? Israel has defiled itself. Their deeds will not allow them to return to their God, for a spirit of the harlotry is with them. And they what? When you have a deviled heart and you walk in that way and practice in that way, they do not know the Lord. Is that correct? They don't know the Lord. They don't know them. All right, now look and go, verse 7. They have dealt treacherously against the Lord. They have borne what kind of children? Illegitimate children. And now look at verse 11. Ephraim is oppressed, their crust in judgment, because they have determined to what? To follow man's command and doctrines. Are you seeing that? Following men, the opinions of men, the doctrines of men. Rather, hey folks, right here, listen folks, this is what has your whole heart. Jesus. Do you know that's Jesus right there? That's him right there. He's got your heart. He's got you. Now, I don't care what kind of revelation the Lord might have to me or Rick or Bob or anything else, but there's something bad and wrong. Do you know that you can take the things of God? Do you know it's an easy thing and draw people to yourself, gather them around you? Do you know it's a very easy thing to do? The powers of darkness show you that. They try to get people to come to you. They really do. And flesh loves it. Flesh loves to be king, you know, because king, you can kind of run things with God, you know. Of course, you can get between God and folks. See, that's what's happened today. Flesh is king. They've got a kingdom. See, kingdom over here, kingdom over there, kingdom over there, and they're ruling and reigning. And they're taking the things of God and drawing people to themselves. That's how the blind follow the blind. I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to tell you something, folks. You better make sure that Jesus has all your heart. Because if I really represent Jesus, I don't want your heart. I don't have to have you follow me. I want you to be a success in Jesus. But if my motives are wrong, it's going to come out of my mouth, isn't it? You're going to know. You can take the things of God, and you can kind of draw people, and you can build something else besides. Maybe like that fellow over there casting out demons and doing miracles. He's doing miracles and prophesying and practicing sin. I wonder what he's building. You know, I guarantee he's not building the kingdom of Jesus. Now, they're defiled. And let's look over in one other place in Revelation 14. I want to just show you one thing. Revelation 14. Now we know about the mark of the beast. Now let me show you. If you have a harlot's forehead, if you have a harlot's forehead, I wonder would that be kind of the opposite of the mind of Christ? Yes? Wouldn't it? Sure it would. You have a harlot's forehead. That's what babbling has. Well, that would be kind of the mark of the beast. But look right here in chapter 14, verse 1. "...And there I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing on the mountain's vine, with him 144,000 having his name, and the name of the Father was written," where? "...on their forehead." Now, I want you to know, he's got a hedge around these people. Verse 3, "...and they sang a new song." They're probably singing the praises of God. Now let's see verse 4, who these people are. These are the ones who have not been what? Defiled with who? The women. Now see, I'm very convinced this is that whore, harlot, babbling church. They've not been defiled with them. Because what does it say over in Revelation 18, verse 2? "...Come out from their midst, my people, and do not participate in their sins, that you will not receive of their plagues." Folks, do you understand that the powers of darkness in what has been restraining them is being removed right now? They've never been... Do you talk about times of trouble or Jacob's trouble? Ain't there been times of trouble like things are happening to us right now? And it's just slowly, and people are just drifting and drifting. But these are the ones that have the mark of God that's not been what? Defiled with women. Now hold your place right there, and I'll show you something. Turn back to Deuteronomy 22. Just hold your place. Turn back to Deuteronomy 22. Now let me ask you something. Are we supposed to be the Lord's vineyard? Is that right? Now let me ask you something. What kind of seed is it supposed to be? Are we God's field right here, 1 Corinthians 3, 9? Now look at me. Are we God's field? We're God's field, and we don't let anything but the seed of God come where? It's a field because we resist the devil with the shield of faith, and we don't let the devil's seed come down in our field. Is that right? But if you're letting the seed of the devil come down there, you're the one that has what? A defiled heart. Isn't that right? Why? Because you're letting two kinds of seed come in. Because when you let Satan's seed come in, the seed is conceived. It gives birth to sin. Sin's accomplished, and it's bringing forth what? Death. That's his seed. You're not telling him two kinds of seeds. That's why you resist the devil. Now look at verse 9. You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seeds, lest all the produce of the seed which you've sown and increased of the vineyard become what? It's going to become defiled. The ones that have the mark of God do not have two kinds of seed. Amen? They don't have two kinds of seed because they are in the war. They resist the devil. They come to the Lord with a pure heart. They're being sanctified, which is purified, and that's the ministry of reconciliation. You no longer live for yourself, but you live for the one who died for you. Amen? And so let's just finish that in verse 4. These are the ones who have not been defiled with the women, for they have kept themselves pure. Chess. These are the ones who follow Jesus wherever he goes. They follow the Lamb. In a stranger's voice, they do not know. These have been purchased from among men as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb, and no lie is found in their mouth. They don't speak the things of the flesh because they are what? Blameless. And what kind of bride is Jesus coming after? Holy and blameless. Isn't that plain? Praise God. Praise the Lord.
