Why Understanding the Biblical View of the End Times Is Important
Mike Bickle

Mike Bickle (1955 - ). American evangelical pastor, author, and founder of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), born in Kansas City, Missouri. Converted at 15 after hearing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach at a 1970 Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference, he pastored several St. Louis churches before founding Kansas City Fellowship in 1982, later Metro Christian Fellowship. In 1999, he launched IHOPKC, pioneering 24/7 prayer and worship, growing to 2,500 staff and including a Bible college until its closure in 2024. Bickle authored books like Passion for Jesus (1994), emphasizing intimacy with God, eschatology, and Israel’s spiritual role. Associated with the Kansas City Prophets in the 1980s, he briefly aligned with John Wimber’s Vineyard movement until 1996. Married to Diane since 1973, they have two sons. His teachings, broadcast globally, focused on prayer and prophecy but faced criticism for controversial prophetic claims. In 2023, Bickle was dismissed from IHOPKC following allegations of misconduct, leading to his withdrawal from public ministry. His influence persists through archived sermons despite ongoing debates about his legacy

Sermon Summary
Mike Bickle emphasizes the critical importance of understanding the biblical view of the end times, arguing that it is not a secondary theme but a vital issue for believers today. He warns of an impending perfect storm of escalating global crises, including financial, political, and moral challenges, and stresses that without a biblical context, many will be confused and misled. Bickle highlights the need for believers to be informed and engaged with the biblical narrative to respond with faith and hope, rather than fear and confusion. He calls for a generation of messengers who will boldly proclaim the truth of God's plan amidst the chaos, ensuring that the church is prepared for the challenges ahead. Ultimately, he encourages believers to take a stand and be part of God's unfolding story, as the glory of God will be revealed even in the midst of turmoil.

Why understanding the biblical view of the end times is important. It's not kind of a secondary theme in the scripture or in this hour of history. A lot of folks, they kind of have a casual attitude towards it. Said, well, I'm not really into that. It all take care of itself. Anyway, I want to be practical and I want to just encourage you that this is a very practical issue related to your heart, your family, the people you know in love and I'll break that down in just a moment. It's a very practical subject. A great storm is on the horizon. It's a perfect storm. It's a very intense storm. It's already begun in my opinion. We are in a season of acceleration. When I say we, I mean the planet. I don't mean just our nation. It's pretty obvious just by casual observation. Things are escalating. Things are intensifying and they're going to continue to tensify. It's a very serious hour, but it's going to be more intense a decade from now and a decade after that, etc. We're never going back to the 1980s 1990s. The status quo of a few decades ago is never going to happen again. The new norm is disturbing and it's going to become more disturbing. This storm that's on the horizon has been laid out in detail in the word of God thousands of years ahead of time through the Old Testament prophets. This storm that's emerging on the planet. The king who prophesied the details of it has full authority over it. And he's using it for his own purposes to fill the earth with the glory of God and to magnify the father Jesus. The great king is not surprised by the storm. He prophesied it in great detail and the premise is this. If somebody has the authority to describe the details to determine some of the details. He has the total authority over it and he has that authority to describe it and he's determined much of it. But some of it he's left in the hands of the people to respond this storm that's coming. I believe we're in the early days of it. It's a perfect storm. It's going to have financial dimensions, political dimensions, social dimensions, spiritual dimensions, weather patterns and terrorism and violence and immorality. But in the midst of all the negativity the glory of God is going to be manifest and released in a time unprecedented in human history. Now the problem with this storm, one of the problems is that it will confuse many people. If they don't have a context for it, if they can't see the context of the biblical narrative, the biblical storyline, because it's not just a biblical description. There's a whole story that's unfolding in the generation of the Lord returns and it has a dynamic continuity with the generation after the Lord returns. That's really one generation. It's the decades leading up in the decades afterwards. There's a tremendous continuity in those time frames. It's one vast time frame, one generation. Well, if people don't have a biblical context for it, they're going to be confused. I mean believers, many believers are already confused. And we don't need to be. Because if we can interpret it from God's point of view, then we can respond accordingly with faith, with hope, with confidence. Our King is leading the charge. He knows what's going on. All things are in his hands. But it's going to require more than a information of a few biblical ideas about the end times. Yeah, we know that antichrist is coming. We know tribulation. We know some bad things are going to happen. It's going to require, the Bible gives us more than a few broad strokes events like that that are real familiar to everybody. There's a larger body of scripture that that fills in many of the details of the narrative. But in the void, if we don't know the biblical story, in the void, the only other story is the humanistic narrative and the response that follows it. And if God, if the messengers in the body of Christ are not familiar with the scriptures and declaring it boldly, because it's a politically incorrect message, doesn't make anybody happy if they don't love Jesus's leadership. And many in the church, they're more interested in their life being easy than the Lord's perfect plan unfolding. So they don't like it either. There's like, oh, I don't like this. It feels heavy. It is heavy. But there's glory that is resulting from it. But in the void of the biblical storyline, the only thing we have is the humanistic, secular storyline and people will respond according to the narrative they embrace. And there's a need in this hour and God's raising up in this hour messengers that have clarity, that aren't backing down at all. And that's part of our mandate as a spiritual family. To in as much as God gives us clarity, we don't have the whole, we don't know at all, God's raising up many ministries and together we'll give to each other and learn from each other all over the nations. But in as much as we have clarity, the Lord wants us to be bold, tender, humble, but bold. And to speak the biblical storyline into the context of our culture. So people have a chance to make sense of what's going on. Now some believers. They're going to wait until the storm intensifies. And they'll take hold of it after the negative pressures escalate to kind of nation breaking level. Then they'll say, hey, okay. Okay. Okay. You know, I'll start paying attention. Now, what's that verse in Isaiah mean? Now, let's go back to that one. But beloved, we don't want to wait until it's so intense before we grasp what's going on and entering to peace and clarity because we want to be a part of the solution, not a part of the confusion. A lot of people in the body of Christ, part of the confusion. They're as confused as the world is and they're as disturbed and kind of lost as they're trying to anticipate where this thing is going. It's like the train is off the tracks. Beloved. It's not. There's a king. He has power. He has a plan. We're a part of it and he wins. He's already won, but it's going to be fully manifest across the earth. Now, some are going to wait till the thing intensifies. Then they're going to jump on the train. So to speak the that this using that analogy of understanding God's purpose, but I found out as a boy. Then it's really hard to jump on a moving train. And I was about eight, nine, 10 years old in those years. We'd go down to the train tracks. We were forbidden to go down there. But somehow my little brother led me down to the train tracks. I found myself there and there's a little group of guys that we jump on the train when it was moving. And I mean, we get big trouble. If we ever found out, my mom never found out. Praise the Lord. But you know, if if the train was going faster, you had more guts and it was a bigger dare. If you jumped on it, we didn't think about getting your leg cut off or, you know, my mom would scream at the wheels way under there. I'm fine. Well, anyway, back to the Bible. I know it's a lot harder to jump on a train that's moving fast. I know that for a fact. But a lot of believers, they're kind of too busy to be engaged with what God says about that hour of history. Now, we're not sure people my age. I'm 61 years old. We're not sure we will see the fullness of that storm in our gym in our time. We might go. We don't know. It's my personal opinion. I said many times. It's not a prophecy. It's my personal opinion based on the biblical information, the signs of the times that were in the early days of that generation. I believe there's people alive on the earth that will see it in fullness. It may be the two-year-olds. I don't know. It may be their children. I don't know. But I know this. It's not too early to start becoming very familiar with the storyline and making it known in a widespread way. Because if people don't know the biblical narrative, they'll take the humanistic one and that will lead to a tremendous amount of fear, confusion, deception, compromise. You buy that narrative. You will be like a ship lost at sea with no compass. The Bible makes it clear one of the real foreboding prophecies. I mean, this is the one that troubles me at the very top of the list. The Bible says it clearly that in the generation of the Lord returns, there will be a great falling away from the church. I mean believers. I don't mean just casual church members on the back row. People will be confused, offended, fearful and believers will abandon the faith. Family members, friends. Because they don't get what's going on. It doesn't make sense to them. It's not just they love sin. They'll look around and they'll take the other narrative and it will make sense to them. They won't understand what the Bible is saying and there's a great falling away. Now, there's a great in-gathering. You know the word, the number I use, a billion new souls, but nobody knows the number. But I mean, it's going to be a great harvest in the nation. So there's going to be a great in-gathering and a great falling away happening simultaneously, but the falling away is going to be dynamically connected to people not getting what's going on. And they take the wrong narrative. Look at a paragraph A. There's only one generation, one generation. The Bible gives more information on that one generation than any other generation in human history. It will have very unique dynamics. Because darkness will be the highest level of human history, but the glory of God will be at the highest level of human history, meaning the manifestation of it. Never will there be a time with such two great extremes in one time frame. So it's a very unique dynamics happening in that generation, never seen before. No one's ever navigated those dynamics before. That's why the Lord puts so much information in the Bible on that generation. Because the dynamics will be very intense, unprecedented. Nobody's ever walked that path before. Another reason the Bible puts so much information on that one generation more on that generation than any other time in history, because there will be more people alive in that time frame than in any other time in history. Some people have done the math and they go as far to say there'll be more people alive on the earth in this time frame of one generation than all of human history added up together. I haven't done the math on that. There will be greater sin, greater glory, more people, unusual dynamics. Another thing, that's the time frame. Imagine this. God picked one time frame that is going to transition the planet into the age to come. There's going to be a real generation that happens. This isn't a fairy tale. This is real. The mouth of Jesus declared it. I believe we're in the early days of that generation. If we are, it is not a business as usual time frame in history, and it's not going to be sufficient to just kind of casually relate to the Lord like many did in the 70s, 80s and 90s and just kind of being a happy church member and then they just have their life mostly devoid or separated from the kingdom of God and a little bit of church, little bit. I love you. Jesus blow him a kiss every now and then give him a few bucks here and there and get on with it. That's not going to work. We're going to enter into a time frame where it will be life and death issues for cities and nations and whole families and I mean more than I mean just the consequences are real. It's not melodramatic. That's why the Bible puts more information on this time frame than any other time frame. Look what Haggai the prophet says. Thus says the Lord chapter 2 verse 6. I'll shake the heaven. That's the sky the atmosphere. God's shaking the heavens. That's terrifying to me. Oh my what the weather patterns and the stars and the whole atmosphere. I'm going to shake the earth. He said. I'm going to shake the sea. Beloved I assure you that's where it's going. He's going to shake the sea. He's going to shake the dry land that's related to earthquakes and other things. He goes verse 7. So, you know, I'm going to shake Nations. I'm going to shake the political financial infrastructures of Nations. Throw them off completely to where they're groping where there is no answer. Except for me. Then in the shaking look at what happens in verse 7, they shall come. Who's the they the Nations? Where are they coming? They're coming to a man. They're coming to a king. They're coming to the Messiah to Jesus and look at the name. It's one of my favorite titles of Jesus the Messiah in the Old Testament. He's called the desire of all the Nations. Because it's in that generation. The beauty of the Lord will be revealed like no other time in history. Yes, he's shaking Nations, but he's unveiling his beautiful heart his beautiful plan and his beautiful alternative to living outside of his leadership and casting him aside. The Lord says not only am I going to bring the Nations to my son the desire of all Nations. I'm going to fill the temple with the glory of God. I'm going to release a measure of Glory unseen in human history now, you got to put about a couple other verses together with this to get that whole picture. Verse 8. I love this in verse 8 just like the Lord to add this he goes by the way and the great shaking the Silver's mine. The gold is mine. The money is mine. There's going to be a transfer of wealth. I'm going to finance my kingdom. There's going to be supernatural financing of the things that God that are on God's heart. Says I'm going to manifest my authority over money in that out. Because people are going to trusted money. He says don't trust in me now in Hebrews 12. I'm not looking at it. Now Hebrews 12 comments on this passage. Hebrews 12 makes statements about this passage at Haggai chapter 2 and here's what it adds. It says when that shaking happens. Whatever is established in the kingdom Kingdom values Kingdom purposes. It will remain through the shaking. It will hold up under the pressure that which is not established in the kingdom lives and Ministries or what our businesses government whatever is not established on Kingdom. It will be manifest. As weak and it will break. Now Isaiah chapter 60. We know this verse. I share it many times the darkness shall cover the earth. It's one time frame one generation. He goes on to say well, it's more than darkness. It's deep darkness. Really the no time like it. So people might take a step back. Oh, no. He says no, no, no, no, no. Don't don't go. Oh, no yet, but the Glory. The Glory will arise on the people of God. The Glory will be seen on you. We'll be moving through you now that you are the people that take hold of God's purpose. God's leadership the you are those that give themselves to the Lord of the harvest. Now some parts of the church they focus on the trouble, but they don't give hope others focus on the hope but they don't talk about the trouble. Neither one of those messages is a balanced biblical message. Great trouble, but our heart is anchored in hope the trains not off the track. The nations are going. Where's this going? We know where it's going. A Jewish King is coming back. He's going to drive the devil off the planet drive sent off the planet every demon thrown in prison. He's going to fill the earth with the Glory of God and your life in this age will have deep continuity and purpose related to what happens at that time frame. I'm not believers that are alive at that time frame and I think some of you might be again. I don't know for sure but I think so. I mean, you don't know maybe people my age will see it because it comes suddenly when it comes it escalates suddenly. Matter of fact the two men the two generations that Jesus highlighted and so did the Apostles. The two men highlighted Noah and lot. Jesus said it'd be like the days of Noah Craig. The characteristic sin was violence violence everywhere. Jesus said well not only like Noah, but like lot to immorality at a level that was very very intense. But it wasn't just the sins that were great and increasing. In both generations, there was an unprecedented trouble trouble that had never been seen before. There was no historical record of the trouble that came on those two generations. The only way they could know about it is by what God said about it ahead of time. In Noah's generation Global Flood Noah said floods coming. He said Noah you ought to you should have paid more attention in ninth grade science class. Because in Noah's generation the rain didn't come from above God watered the earth from below. It had never rained before. Noah says, you know what? I don't get all that. It's coming from above they go not, you know, it doesn't work that way water. You can't hold water up in the sky. No, it doesn't make sense. Noah goes, I don't know all that. I just know it's going to rain. But it never rained before unprecedented. In Lot's day fire came down from a city never in history. Has fire fell from a city? I mean, there's bombs, but I mean supernatural straight from heaven. Boom fire on the city. Nothing like it before after Jesus said those are the two generations the characteristic sin of Noah increased violence beyond measure lot immorality. And those are two of the characteristic issues. But the judgment came suddenly and the judgment was unprecedented never seen. There was never a book to go read to see what it would be like the only reliable information Noah and Lot had was what God said beforehand to them. Beloved we're in the same situation today something more intense than Noah more intense than Lot greater violence greater immorality. It's going to escalate suddenly and it's going to be at a grid that nobody knows but it's in the book. We have the reliable information given to us. Well, those two generations they were very unaware and therefore they were very unresponsive. And one reason is they were completely unaware. They had no grid. Noah said it but they are whatever Noah that's crazy. It's never had like that before you hear that same logic even in the church today. But it is unprecedented. What's coming? Paragraph B. I want to give some theological considerations as to why this is so important to understand. As I said before the Bible highlights one generation more than all the other generations. Again got the most people the generation he transitions to the age to come there are over a hundred and fifty chapters in the Bible on that generate describing that generation a hundred and fifty chapters of which the end times is the primary subject. The years leading up to the Lord's return and the years immediately after in that same generation of the Lord's return. Now consider this. Matthew Mark Luke and John four Gospels 89 chapters and four Gospels. So almost 90 chapters almost describing Jesus's first coming to the earth to accomplish salvation 90 chapters almost a hundred and fifty chapters about his second coming. I mean talking about the activity of sin the judgment against it the glory all the dimensions. Almost twice as much in the Bible about it. But most of the church is illiterate on those hundred fifty chapters and it's going to come but like a Noah's day it never rained before. So hey, who cares? Beloved if we don't get the biblical narrative and our children don't and our friends don't they only other narrative is the humanistic one and they will respond according to that there. It won't make sense the intensified pressure the fear that will come from it. Look at paragraph C. Well, we got the hundred and fifty chapters, but there's more there's more detail Jesus because I'm going to personally give you specific signs that when you see them. They will increase in that day and I have some of them written here. Signs that are right now signs of the times is the term that's commonly used for the first time in history. I I identify 17 of them in Matthew chapter 24 and Luke 21 from the lips of Jesus. And there's different ways to categorize these. But anyway, it's a number of them. Here's the point. I want you to understand for the first time in history. Almost every single one of the signs are increasing on a global level making global headlines together for the first time in history. It's happening right now. Not 40 years ago. Not a hundred years ago right now and only right now. Now, I'm not trying to put people down. I'm trying to wake us up because I care most believers. I know here and out there. They couldn't tell you 10 of the signs of the times. From memory, they got wars rumors or wars pestilence famines earthquakes K5. Okay, you know that list and there's way more than 17 by the way. There's 17 in one chapter. The Apostles gave them Jesus gave them the prophets Old Testament prophets. It's a clear description. Now, I'm certainly not don't know everything about those but I've looked at him pretty diligently over the years and I tell you I'm alerted every one of them almost are escalating on a global level right now for the first time. It's alarming. It's exciting. It's a learning. It's a wow Lord. He says, yeah, you're supposed to know them and to be awakened to urgency because when I study the signs of the times and I see him happen out in society, it shifts me. From my normal mindset of my own life and world to the global narrative of what's happening in a generation bigger than my ministry in my life and my world. Excuse me. So seeing those signs it moves me over to urgency. Wow, there's a bigger storyline than me and mine. Wow, give you one or two just real dramatic ones paragraph in the state of Israel. This is one of the most striking one from the Old Testament couple thousand years ago. The Prophet said in essence, I'm just summarizing it to say it in 60 seconds. Israel has to be a nation for this to happen. Well for almost 2,000 years Israel wasn't a nation. Then the miracle of Israel 1948 against all odds. I mean all odds not a chance in the natural. This could happen. They became a nation. No nation has ever lost its homeland. And recovered its homeland after a generation of being out. They were out for 2,000 years. Bible teachers for 2,000 years of church history. They would look at that and go. Well, maybe it's symbolic. It's not really a chance. Israel is going to get back. Against all odds 1948 boom. We began a time frame of the human family and redemptive history. Everything from that time forward. It's a different hour. The Lord said from his prophets. He goes now Israel's got to get in the land first and Jerusalem has to get under their control and that's a big story paragraph out. Another big stories happening. Jesus said when the gospel is preached in every nation and the word nation is ethnos every ethnic group. And there's 3,300 identifiable ethnic groups in the earth. There's 200 Nations about. But 3,300. So I have the number. I have an extra zero there a typo. It's 3,300. Here's what the leaders of the top mission organizations in the world. Steve Douglas campus Crusade Lauren Cunningham and the other 10 really prominent ones have been around for years. They are saying boldly there will be a witness of the gospel in every single one of these 3,000 plus people groups by the year 2020. For 2,000 years. This was impossible. We could never see this expense Israel's a nation and the gospel will at least have a beginning of a beachhead of a witness in every people group for the first time in history. Well, there's so many signs of the times. I just finished a course last semester and I hop you 14 sessions. Breaking down the signs of the times and I there's enough material to take 25 sessions by didn't in 14. It's on the internet. You can check it out. If you want there are so many biblical signs of the time beloved. We got to know what the narrative is the story what our we're living in this isn't business as usual paragraph G. Well, not only are there these signs one of the signs is a increase of understanding about the end times increase of hunger. Increase of number of people that are willing to be bold and to make a stand and to go deep and understand what the Bible says. For 2,000 years of church history, there's always been a few. But in Daniel 11 verse 33, the mighty angel that's visiting Daniel says Daniel, let me tell you something the people who understand there's a group called the people who understand I'm assuming it's millions. It's all over the earth. People who understand they will instruct many now when it says people understand is that talking about general understanding of just the Bible or even just wisdom in life, though. I certainly love that. That's the book of Proverbs. In context, it's talking about understanding the biblical narrative of that generation. That's what he's talking about the angel. Many are hungry even right now. The hunger is increasing but give it 10 more years. Give it 20 more years. People are bewildered. Where's it going? Where's it going? I'm afraid. I don't know what's happening. Does anybody know what's the answer many are saying believers and unbelievers tell me what the Bible says. And it's such a time as this God is raising up people of understanding all the body of Christ. Who they searched out with the Bible said they have a desire for it. They have a boldness to take a stand because it's politically incorrect. You don't love Jesus's leadership. This is not a message. You want to mess around with it's easier just to keep it positive. Everything's going to get happier and easier and you're going to have more fun more friends more money more everything. Everything's fine. Keep your ministry focused on that. Unless you really want to say what the Lord saying the whole message politically incorrect, but you love him and you love the people and if the people don't have clarity, they will buy the other narrative Lord is raising up people. We're saying this boldly my favorite Billy Graham 95 years old. He's making some bold statements about the coming of the Lord in the nearness of it. I love this Franklin Graham has been touching this subject and pushing it Joyce Meyer the other day on TV. She said I don't really teach on the signs of the times, but hey, I want to go to Matthew 24 and talk about the signs of the times here. I mean, there's different voices starting to unpack this a little bit here and a little bit there. It's encouraging the Lord says I'm going to raise up people. They're going to teach many now you think well, I'm not going to teach many you might you know in this social media environment of the earth. You may be an 85 year old grandma in your kitchen write a blog that goes viral and 10 million people might read it. It might be a dream you get it might be an insight. You've never spoken on a microphone in a Bible study or a church service, but you might touch 10 million people. You might be one that touches many. So don't say well, that's for them. No, it's for you to top of page 2. Now, this is a very unusual command to some people when they read this. It's new to them this command in Matthew 24 verse 33 Jesus said when you see all of these things that means the things that were in chapter Matthew 24 before verse 33 the signs of the times when you see all of them, here's the command no, no with certainty is the idea. It's at the door where 34 goes. Let me be more specific. So you don't make this a symbolic this very generation in which it begins and all of them are seen that generation will see the completion of the Lord coming in the sky and appearing in the clouds. He said there's one time frame. Where all of them will come out on a global level and will be obvious. He says in that day. I want you to know don't be ambivalent. Don't be confused. It will be clear now. We don't have the clarity. We're not at that day. Where we can say that yet, but we're moving closer and closer. But the next thing he says in verse 36, but of the day in the hour, nobody knows but here's the here's the issue. The body of Christ is so familiar with no one knows the day or the hour that they've lost sight of the commandment that to know the generation. He said no the generation if you're alive at that time when you see the sign study the signs be aware of them know it when you're in that generation in a generation in the Bible can last a hundred years by the way, Genesis chapter 15. It's like the it's like the pregnant woman because the analogy is pregnancy. You know, it's a little bit before it's a few weeks before she doesn't know the day of the hour the baby's coming but she knows the season for sure. She's that final week. She doesn't know if it's Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, she prays. It's Monday. She has another day. The hour she knows she's in the final week or so. And the analogy of the pregnant woman giving the baby in the baby is the glory of God and the global purpose. God's glory fill your that's the baby and things related to that in this analogy paragraph C. This is the most important. Practical thing that I'm saying this morning in my opinion. If people don't know the biblical narrative, I'm talking about believers and there's a great falling away. The Bible talks about I believe that falling ways already started. I've been a pastor 40 years plus. I've seen more people who were fervent for the Lord in the past in the last five years take a step away from the Lord into a real up settled passivity with Jesus. They haven't denied him many of them but real passive. They're not engaged at all like they were for years and then I've seen the other category where they're actually denying him to say, you know, I'm not really into that anymore. There's I see the bigger story. I see what's happening in society. There's a unity and a love and a glory. I want to do that. I don't want to do this religious church thing in five years and I've had this conversation with many pastors. There are more people that are walking away from the Lord that have a church background quote. I mean that had fervency years ago. Even not so many years ago. It's I believe an opinion only we're in the early days of that falling away. It's already beginning. I believe again, this may be a little bit further down the road than I think but it may be sooner than I think because like Noah and Lot it happened suddenly when nobody was thinking it would except for those two men. Here's the pastoral considerations. If people don't know and the trouble increases and they don't know the biblical narrative. They don't know the hundred and fifty chapters. You don't have to know the whole hundred chapters, but the prominent storyline more than one or two ideas. There's an antichrist. There's a more than that. So we see the glory of God in his master plan in it. Jesus said the first response they will have and many will have it. They will fall back in fear believers and unbelievers. They'll be so afraid beloved when somebody's afraid they're vulnerable to very bad decisions when they're afraid. The next thing that happens. Many will be offended. They'll be offended at Jesus's leadership. Not just at each other. They'll be offended each other better. I was always taught that everything was getting better. If this is you God, where you at? Where's your word? I thought we were supposed to be raptured before any trouble happened. What is happening and many will get offended at Jesus where they find out the trouble continues to increase. It's not going away the glories in the context of the trouble. It doesn't move all the trouble. Many will be offended. They have no biblical background or foundation to comprehend trouble and Jesus's leadership. They'll be offended. Others will be deceived. There's a counterfeit justice movement a counterfeit unity movement a counterfeit love movement. They'll say justice unity love many believers go. Well, they're doing justice and unity. I'm in. No, it's the counterfeit. It's in the Bible. Oh, where's that out? Where's that? Oh, I never read that stuff. I can't figure that stuff out. Anyway. Well, and there's confusion and compromise because the new norm of violence like a Noah's generation and immorality like lots and it's not just those two, but those are the two leading the list. The new norm. If a scale of one to 10, this is so hypothetical is two of violence and immorality. The new norms going to be an eight and many people will start moving up that scale. It will be normal violence and immorality even in the church. It won't be it won't be shocking to them one and two and three decades from now because it is everywhere and everyone's doing it. It's that kind of thing where they'll be seduced into compromise because it will be the new standard of what everyone's doing. There's a lot more to say about that. I just want to say that real brief, but you got the picture. Others are just just confused the trains off the track. Nobody's leading this thing. No one knows where it's going and they'll just retreat and just get into a little silo, you know, a little couple of people over here hiding away. The Lord says no, no beloved with. Out understanding the big storyline of what's going on. We don't understand the prayer movement. The prayer movement. I don't want to give up 10 minutes on this, but I'd love to the prayer movement is exploding in the earth in the last 10 years. It's remarkable. If I gave you the stats and it's good next 10 years as far more nothing like this has ever happened in history. It's explosion of prayer ministries. Explosion. Why is God doing this? Why did God speak audibly to say have a 24-hour prayer room? Why didn't you? Why did you come here? Why are you here? Well, many of you it's related to the prayer room. But without this knowledge of the storm and the glory and the shift and the norm and what's happening the prayer room doesn't fully have its biblical context to understand it. A lot of people say well, I go to the prayer room. I want to see Revival good. I'm in and I want to get some personal refreshment. Yeah, I'm really into those two. I love personal refreshment more and I want Revival, but here's the problem. Most believers could are okay. If Revival doesn't happen. Well, they don't like it if it doesn't but they're okay. They could make it. Well, you know what? So they're not going to stay steady in prayer. If Revival's all they're into they'll go hard for a few years and then year three or four. They're out. Revival didn't come, you know, I don't know. I'm okay. And most people are a little bit. Okay, if they're not personally renewed like, you know, I'd like to be maybe next month next month next month. They put it off a couple years go by. I don't want to be un-renewed. I want to get renewed and refreshed but you know, I'm busy and lots going on and they can live without those but something's happening on the global scene. There is a storm per arising. It's going to be prayer. It's going to be an issue of life and death because the issue of life and death for cities and nations is going to be in the hands of the prayer movement in the earth. It's far more than personal refreshment and a little bit of Revival in our city because most people can live without that but they won't be able to live and make it with what's coming but many aren't aware of it because the biblical narrative. It's far away from them or they're thinking. Well, maybe it won't hit me. It'll hit my I heard one preacher say, well, maybe it won't hit my generation, but maybe my kids or grandkids. I go, are you comforted by your kids having in your grandkids? Well, as long as it's not me. I go, oh, gee. I go, we want to engage in this together in our prayer room in our prayer experience in our depth. We're like young ones that are learning. We're not deep at it. We're not great at it. But the Lord says you stay steady. You work the muscle year by year. We're coming up to our 17 year anniversary. You just keep doing it and for such a time as this you will be ready. God doesn't wave his hand and out pops all these mature prayer warriors. He says I've given you time work the muscle and if we don't know there's a storm arising and a great release of the glory of God. It's only about revival and personal refreshment. The prayer room can be reduced for the singers and musicians. Well, it's a platform to establish my music ministry. Well, it is but there's beloved. There's a storm emerging in the earth. There's something bigger than your music ministry. Or I want to come here because I love to just relax and go in the prayer room and just chill out. Yeah, I love that. So do I. There's a bigger story than that. The life and death of cities and nations and the culture and society is in the hands of the intercessors far more than the politicians. I assure you. You read the biblical narrative the intercessors. Change history, the politicians are influenced by what happened in the spirit room because of the prayer room because of the prayer warriors of the earth. Well, let's go to the bottom of page two. Just this last couple minutes my own personal journey. Well, it began. I mean about the end times. I mean, I mean, I'm a revival guy. I wasn't into the end times. I just wanted to see thousands of people get saved and be happy Charles Finney John G Lake. Those are kind of my heroes. That's good enough. I remember when I first met Bob Jones 30 some years ago and he said first when I first met him is what's your vision? I said, well, have you ever heard of Charles Finney goes? Yeah, I go. You ever heard of John G Lake? I mean, he's tremendous evangelist of power. I go. Yeah, I want to see like 5,000 people get saved in Overland Park. That's where our church was. I thought that boy was mine. I mean not church transfer growth born again 5,000. I'm going for the gold. He looked at me and he goes. I thought some people getting saved. I go. Yeah, he goes. Do you have any idea what time of history you were in? Because your vision is so small. I thought he thought my vision would be massive. I think go like wow, what a man of faith. He goes, do you have any idea what you're called to do? He has just gonna be 24 hour singers and musicians. There's gonna be the salvation of Israel. Emerald is exploded the earth and I looked at him. He was five. There's a billion souls coming in because what do you what are you talking about? He goes get a vision. That's a man. Who's this guy? Well, a few years after that in 19 paragraph B 1997. Lord spoke to me and Sicily about friends of the bridegroom. That was a term John the Baptist used. That is John the Baptist. Operated as a friend of the bridegroom at the first coming God would raise up 10,000. That's a small number actually because other ministries with a lot of other numbers bigger than that would raise up 10,000 messengers. That would talk about the unique dynamics of Jesus at his second coming preparing the people so they don't yield to fear confusion deception those things I mentioned in that paragraph. Well 20 years ago. I want to end with this story. 20 years ago. 1997. This is when my interest went up about 10 10 notches in one day. Where I don't it. I understood in a much more clear way that I must understand and proclaim the unique dynamics of Jesus bridegroom King and judge not just the king with power not just the beautiful bridegroom, but the judge because it's one reality. There's no contradiction in it and I didn't think much about the judge my news in the Bible. I knew there was a bunch of chapters. I didn't know is 150. I knew it was a lot. I never studied a much. But in one day the Lord got my attention and said I want you from now on in essence didn't come down exactly this way to start studying these and making them known and that was 20 years ago. I was reading here. I am Isaiah 63 strange chapter. It's describing the Messiah Jesus at the Second Coming. And it's describing him if you're not familiar this he's walking into Jerusalem to liberate the city of Jerusalem that's surrounded by the armies of the Antichrist from all the nations. He's coming into Jerusalem as the greater David to save the city of Jerusalem the greater Joshua to reclaim the land the greater Moses to liberate the people from slavery and any kind of oppression. He's the greater Elijah the power of God and all these things. He's one man embodying all of these walking into Jerusalem Isaiah 2700 years ago describes him Isaiah sees the Messiah at the end of the age. He doesn't fully grasp it and he asked a question verse 1 who is this man coming from Edom now Edom in the ancient world is modern-day Jordan. It's right next to Israel. He's walking to Jerusalem. Who or I don't walk at how that works. He was going to Jerusalem is put that way Isaiah 2700 years ago looking at the end time Messiah going who is this man? He's a king for sure. He's marching into Jerusalem from Edom from George from modern day Jordan. He goes it's strange. His clothing is died. It's like red dye is on his clothing. That's odd because the king would have his white dazzling royal robes and he goes he's traveling in power. I've never seen a man travel with such strength and the glory of God's breaking out from this man. He goes who is this guy? So then the man the Messiah the king this Jesus he answers Isaiah Isaiah. I speak to you in righteousness meaning. I'm telling you the truth of what I'm going to do. There's no exaggeration. I'm not going to dilute anything. I am coming mighty to save Jerusalem Israel the nations. I'm coming mighty to save you're going to see my power Isaiah is like wow, okay because I'm telling you the truth. This is righteousness. I'm speaking. There's no exaggeration to what I'm telling you here or no distortion then Isaiah says to the Messiah verse 2 because I got one more question for you mysterious King because he doesn't quite know who he is yet. Why are your garments red? It looks like you've been treading the wine press, you know, like they would have a wine press like a big that a big one and they would get in you know, I have a maybe a couple of two or three feet of grapes and they would step on the grapes and the grapes would splash up on their garments. That's treading the wine press because it looks like you've been smashing the grapes and your beautiful clothing has got stained with all this red grapes like what Jesus answers the Messiah the in time King who Isaiah still doesn't know what's going on fully. I don't think he says yeah, I did trodden the wine press because the wine press of prophetic scriptures real clear is about the wrath of God at the end of the age. He goes I trodden I stepped on those grapes. You're right. I did it alone. And no people's no Nations agreed with me. Nobody stood with me in agreement. No kingdom. No presidential cabinet. No governmental leadership. No other King agreed with what I was doing. Of course, he's killing all the kings of the earth. That's why they didn't agree with him because they're surrounding the city of Jerusalem and the great battle of Armageddon as it's known and then the Messiah says I'll tell you what I did what I'm doing. I have trodden them down on my anger their blood splashed on me. It's not grapes. It's the blood of the kings of the earth and their armies. I'm coming to deliver Jerusalem and Israel and the Nations and drive evil off the planet. Their blood is on me. Not grape juice. Isaiah gone blood. I guess he says that he goes. My robes are stained with blood. Jesus is up close in personal in the end time battle when he appears. That's new to some folks. They just think he's going to come in the sky wave his hand and go away. He's coming to stay to the earth as a king to rule as the greater David the greater Joshua the greater Moses. Well, let's end the story. So I'm one Wednesday morning sitting there for some hours in our church prayer room. Maybe 20 to 50 people were in the room. I don't remember. There's a bunch of folks are there. And I'm reading this verse. The Messiah. Oh my goodness blood like, oh, you know, I don't I know more of the Jesus of Christmas more than the Jesus of Armageddon. I'm going. Are you the same guy? You know, Jesus of Christmas good piece of goodwill. That's what that's what this is all about is bringing peace to the earth. So this very strange thing happens to me. So I'm reading this and it happens for by an hour or two. The Holy Spirit rests on me like burning fire and like wind blowing around me. It's not like a super intense, but it's when I look at the air vents is air-conditioned on September. I go. No, no, there's no heat. No, no, there's nothing I go. What is I'm feeling it everywhere. I go. What? Who's got a fan in here? Look and heat burn. I'm burning up. And I'm saying to the Lord this one verse verse 3. Look at verse 3. He says, I've trodden the winepress alone. Nobody to stand with me. He says no kings of the earth. No government will stand with me. They're all in disagreement with my plan and my leadership. They're all against what I'm doing. But I want people that will stand with me. I remember I was saying Lord, I'll stand with you and it was like this is politically incorrect. The Jesus that only blesses is what people want. They don't want the Jesus. It's going to confront darkness head-on in this dramatic way when he comes and I remember I was saying Lord, I want to be faithful to you. I want to be faithful to you the Jesus in red. That's the term I used the Jesus in red with your stained robes and all the intensity that comes with this because you love the human race. I was familiar with the Jesus of white from Song of Solomon. It says he's white. He's dazzling. He's radiant. He's beautiful the glorious Jesus. That's dazzling white bright. I said Jesus in red. This is it then a guy comes up to me. I've been in this for a couple hours now and I haven't I felt the Spirit come on me like that only one other time before that it was 20 years earlier. I experienced it. I thought man this has happened in a second time. This is intense 20 years ago. It happened. So this guy comes up to me just in the story that I'm going to pray and ask the Lord to touch you with this reality and he taps me on the shoulder. I look up. I don't know him. Really. I heard his name. She's guy named Terry Bennett. I go. Hi, I don't know that I've ever talked to him before that. And he said I hate to disturb you because I can see the Lord trusting on you and I was weeping and you know, my Bible was closed. I was just there just so perplexed. He said I see an angel behind you. I hear that stuff here and there over the years and I don't overly engage with that. I just I hear lots of that stuff. I go like sir go away engage with the Lord right now. This is not a time for you to tell me how amazing your visions are, you know, like. I'm really with the Lord right now, you know, he says no, he's an angel's over. He's pouring fire and wind on you. He goes fires all over you. I don't know if you feel it. I didn't answer it. He goes and there's wind of the spirit blowing around you. I don't know if you feel that either still been answering. I'm thinking wow, I'm paying attention because the angel told me to tell you this. He's now my Bible's closed. I've been reading Isaiah 63 Jesus in red. The angel told me to tell you he's going to reveal the Lord's going to reveal Jesus in red to you. He's going to reveal Isaiah 63. He said be ready to study Isaiah 63. He wants you to take a stand on Isaiah 63 Jesus in red. This may be a new idea to you. I've had for three hours to three hours. I I look at this guy. I don't even know him and he just leaves from that time. That's 20 years ago. I said Lord. I want to know that Jesus in red. I want to know the whole story bridegroom filled with desire beautiful King Glory power reigning ruling judge zeal to confront everything that hinders love and I said Lord. Yes, and two years later I hop starts and germane to this mandated ministry and movement bridegroom King and judge all three no contradiction a great storms on the horizon the glory of God's coming night and day prayer in the earth is it the balance of cities and nations is in the balance of nine-day prayer. It's not just a little refreshment room though. I like the refreshment not just the music platform to grow someone's music ministry and make their albums. I like that too. There's something huge going on in the earth and it's happening all over the earth. This is what we're about. This is part of our story. Amen. Let's stand before the Lord Lord here. We are before you Lord. We say yes, we say yes. Jesus in red biblical narrative the great storm the Manifest Glory the Nations in turmoil raising up messengers. We say yes.
