The whole chapter of 13 of the first book of Corinthians speaks about the love of God. When I read 1 Corinthians chapter 13, especially as from verse 4 to verse 7, I realize that there's nothing else that can be stronger and clearer so that we can examine our life, our heart. Nothing can be clearer. We cannot compare that with anything else. When we read these verses, I want to encourage you at any time of your life, if you want to know if you are in faith, if you are serving the Lord as He wants, if you are in His plan, read these few verses. And I'm sure that the Lord will show us that somewhere in our life we need to be straightened. I want to share with you what is in my heart for me, for all of us. It doesn't exclude anyone. All of us, we need to hear the voice of God, to look at our hearts, and allow the Spirit of God to show us what we need to rectify in our life. Do you think it's possible? Do you think it's possible? The description of the love of God, given just by the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul here, is so strong and powerful that no one can feel excluded or left out of a work of God in his heart. Somewhere there is room for the Holy Spirit to do a work to change us, to lighten our heart with what we are going to read and show us that somewhere we need to humble ourselves, we need to drop our weapons, we need to bend down to the call of God in each of our lives. Let's read this scripture together. I want to remind you that as you read that scripture on the love of God, I'm sure it will be clear to you that it's something which is between God and you, between God and each and every one of us personally, and it's between us and our brothers and sisters. Can I say that again? What we are about to read will describe to us the ideal relationship between each of us and our God and between each of us and our brothers and sisters. It's not something that concerns me alone. It concerns me and it concerns you. Each of us here, it's us and everybody else. It's where we fit in with everybody else. The love of God in my life, it's me and the Lord, it's me and each of you, all of us included. It's so easy to say we love, that we love someone, that we love God. But the word of God teaches us how can we say we love God if we don't love our brother and sister? Apostle John says that in his epistle. It's so much more easier to love God, to pray to God, than to keep a clear relationship between brothers and sisters. It's so much easier to go in your room and pray to God, compared to carry on living with a pure relationship between my brother, my sister, my wife, my husband, anyone. The love of God is a relationship. The love of God in me, in you, it's a relationship. It's you and me. It's each of us and everybody else. Nobody excluded. Already we challenge. Already it shakes the way we see things, our conception of things. The love of God. Let's read chapter 13. In other words, a drum that makes lots of noise. Or a cymbal that is clanging. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith so that I could remove mountains, but I'm not love, I am nothing. Look at your brother, look at your sister next to you. Tell him, if I do not have love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burnt, but I have not love, it profits me nothing. From verse 4 to verse 7, it will speak about the relationship between brothers and sisters. Before we read that, Scripture has turned to 1 John chapter 2. Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning. Again, a new commandment I write to you, though it's a new commandment I write to you. Which thing is true in him and in you? Because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness. He who loves his brother abides in the light and there is no cause of stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 1 John 4 Verse 11 Verse 11, beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us and his love has been perfected in us. 2 John 5 And I ask you, Kyria, not as we prescribe a new commandment to you, but the one we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 1 John 3 Verse 23 And this is his commandment, verse 23, that we should believe on the name of his son Jesus Christ and love one another as he gave us commandment. We see the scriptures that we've read, that love between brothers and sisters is so important in the eyes of God, and it shows us really, if we really love God, we can love God in many ways, but when we love our brothers and sisters with the love of God, as it's described in one Corinthians that we're going to read, it is only then that we can really say that we love God. And the way the Lord wants, if we resume the love of God, it's a relationship between brothers and sisters, a relationship of heart between us brothers and sisters, where we really love one another, and then that shows really that we love God. And this love of God is clearly described in one Corinthians 13, as from verse 4, we're going back to one Corinthians 13, verse 4, love suffers long, it's patient, patient towards my brother and my sister, patient in our heart to see my brother and my sister being changed and transformed, patient while waiting for God to work in our lives, and in the life of my sister and my brother, love, the love of God, is patient, is kind, always ready to do good, always seeking for an opportunity to bless someone, always ready when there is a need, the love of God manifests itself in many ways, we can't live and ignore the needs that are around us, and when we carry the love of God in our hearts, we are always ready to meet a need, always ready to help, the goodness of God, the love of God, manifested by the goodness which is in us, it's having a heart of a servant, it's to be good, love does not envy, it doesn't parry itself, it's free not to envy its neighbors, not to be jealous of it, not to covet what it has, not to be jealous of what it is, and not to want to have what it has, love does not envy, love respects our brother and our sister for what he is and what he has, and each of us should know what he needs to do with what he has, and how the Lord desires him to be, but in our hearts, never envy a brother or a sister for what he is, for his position, for what he has, for all the blessings he can have, but in our hearts, accept what we have, what we are, and give thanks to the Lord for what we have and for what we are, full stop, we mustn't covet the things of others, for what he has or doesn't have, therefore love is above all that, and often, if we really want to realize and understand where we are with God, the little description of the love of God, positions us, shows us where we are, our attitudes, our thoughts, these little points that we just read, describe, often show us where we are, these are hidden things inside of us, and often we can say we love, I love my brother, I love my sister, I love this one, I love that one, but inside of us, there are all these little actions and attitudes, which are in our hearts, and must show us that the work of God needs to happen in our hearts and in our lives, because often we look at what God wants to do in the life of someone else, without realizing what God wants to do in each one of our lives, so there are little lights that light up, there are little lights that light up, little lights are just shining, and showing us our hearts, if really we are loving the way the Lord is asking us to love, this love, which is not emotional, we're not speaking about emotional or sentimental love, but we're speaking of a love which is a deep work of God in our hearts, we speak of the state of our hearts, we carry the love of God in our hearts, it's a product of a resurrection, of a new life, because a natural man cannot love the way God loves, but only a work of the Spirit of God in us can show us and light that light, lit that light in us in our life, when we act in one way or another, when we are impatient, when we are jealous and envious, when we look at what somebody else has, the love of God to not puff up, to be someone, to have reached a point, the love of God does not contain any pride, the love of God do not look to be recognized, do not look for man's approval, do not look to be recognized or acknowledged, on the contrary, often the word of God says, the first are the last, the love of God is not above somebody else, how many of you know it's an attitude? It's just an attitude, we believe we are better, we believe we are higher, everything we are speaking about this morning, is in other words the preaching of Jesus to his disciples, in other words, the apostle Paul speaks clearly of the attitude of our heart, and for me, it's very easy to see where I am at, I read these few verses, we are not even finished yet, I know exactly where I am, in my relationship with the Lord, in my relationship with my wife, and with my brothers and sisters, I know exactly where I am, this is why apostle Paul says, we can be a theologian, we can have a great knowledge, we can be very high and lifted up, we can give to the poor everything we have, but if the love of God is not in our hearts, as we do all these things, what are we as children of God? There is so much struggle, so much division, so much frustration in the body of Christ, but if we only read these few verses, I am sure that each one of us, we can situate ourselves, and no one of us can read this verse and say, I get out of this situation totally clean, I am clear and clear, I am fine, I have nothing to reproach to myself, but there is something I can see, what does Jesus say? When I point my finger on somebody else when I have something to reproach myself, let's go to Jesus. We must be very careful not to become so spiritual and forget about basic things in our Christian life. Love doesn't puff up. I am someone. Everybody recognizes who I am. I am looking for approval and fame. Love doesn't see itself higher or better than somebody else. Love doesn't have any pride. There is no pride in love. This is why the love of God which is eternal and never dies that should be our goal. Very often we can turn around the Word of God, we can understand great revelations, but my brother, my sister, the way I consider myself, the way I see myself, love doesn't do anything which is not honest. Love is straight. There is integrity in the love of God. The love of God is not to be partial. Everyone consider everyone the same way. My love doesn't change according to circumstances. If there are things to sort out, it doesn't change my love towards you. The church of Jesus Christ, the greatest proof that we know God, the greatest proof that we know God is that I love my brother, I love my sister, that I am ready for everything Love goes beyond limits but the pride of man stops it. The pride of man deprives us of being able to love one another with the love of God. The love of God is impartial without preference. It's not partial, impartiality without preference. Often we forget about the ABC the basics of Christianity Love does not seek its own in other words it doesn't think about itself first. Love thinks of others first. Love does not insist on its rights Do you understand what it means? In other words, I'm looking for the best from the other. Love doesn't look for its own interest and I don't insist to get my rights. Strong, eh? This speaks loud it confronts us it confronts our life what I am my actions my words my attitudes the love of God is not provoked doesn't get irritated I'm not irritated by anything it's so easy to get irritated it's easy to keep a grudge it's easy to keep something in our heart to be bitter it's easy to be susceptible sensitive oversensitive the love of God doesn't think any evil thinks no evil if we are subject to any kind of injustice we let it go we think no evil it doesn't have any criticism little lights are coming up lots of little lights coming up for some only little lights coming up the love of God rejoices about truth but does not rejoice in inequity or injustice the love of God struggles to rejoice for injustice and accept injustice the love of God struggles to rejoice has got much difficulty to accept lies hidden things things that are under but the love of God rejoices of the truth of truth none of injustice none of hidden things things underneath things which are straight this is the love of God and often we miss it we don't take we don't consider of some injustice and we let things go but the love of God find a way to bring the truth of God there are different aspects of the love of God some of these aspects I can say for me it's ok but for other aspects I can see there's a little light coming up in my life a little light that's coming up when I consider the church of Jesus Christ what makes the difference between us and the world is the very thing which is at the basic of the coming of Jesus Christ the love of God must be the strength and the power of God in the midst of his church this love to love our brother our sister which is above everything when I think of the love of God for me and for you the way he loved us for what we were not worthy but he still loved us the bible says that love covers a multitude of sins another little light that comes up the bible says that love excuses everything in other words the love of God bears all things endures all things the love of God forgives releases brings us to accept to suffer in our hearts for a brother for a sister if we really want to serve Jesus take our cross and follow him there is no reason whatsoever for us not to love one another with the true love of God and what comes to my heart is humility to be able to humble ourselves humility manifested in the past doesn't count for today humility manifested in the past does not stand for today the love of God the bible says believes in all things trust the other one and expect the best and if there is no better it's ok but the love of God believes all things hopes everything the love of God in our hearts perseveres always keeps believing perseveres and carries on hoping the best the love of God will always see the best not the worst why does the love of God say in it it believes everything we can't change the word of God it believes everything it hopes everything I'm not speaking about faith to receive something I'm speaking of believing in a relationship because the love of God I want to say it again consists to love one another therefore it's a relationship I want to believe it's a relationship I want to believe that to keep believing in the other one even though I'm disappointed even though I'm disappointed I'm not seeing what I want to see and I'm not having what I want to have but I carry on believing in my brother I carry on hoping I speak of a relationship I'm not speaking of something I should have because love is not between me and a car between me and a building it's between me and you and love believes all things therefore somewhere there might be a little light that's coming up again another little light if we don't see something happening to stop believing that's why the apostle Paul tells us there are three important things in life when he finishes speaking of his text he says there are three things faith, hope and love but the greatest of these things love, faith and love but the greatest of them all is love this is why when the love of God reigns in our heart we dare to believe I dare to believe in him I'm not speaking that my faith is in him but I believe I want to believe in him I want to carry on hoping and believing that God is able another little light is on now there's about twelve fuses that have gone out there's not enough place at this altar for repentance there's not enough room are you with me? there's not enough room the love of God believes all things hopes in everything in other words the love of God bring us to believe and to persevere hoping to see there's no place in the world nowhere nowhere in the world except the house of God where this can become a reality nowhere else but God expects that in his house that kind of love could be found it will be true it will be real we can struggle but let it be real believes all things hopes all things endures all things accepts injustice towards myself criticism bears all things I do not keep anything I bear I endure I carry on bending I carry on accepting injustice towards me you must accept judgment about you criticism for you, about yourself we bear everything retaliate retaliate the love of God doesn't allow us to retaliate the love of God doesn't allow us to retaliate bad for bad vindicate whatever, you understand another light it's incredible how the word says that everything will disappear that there is one thing that will not disappear the love of God it will never disappear the only thing that will last forever the bible says we know a little bit we don't know much but the day will be able to taste the love of God in all its fullness and this is my race it is our race it's the only place in the world where people from all colors and all races all levels of life in the eyes of men where men and women brother and sister can love each other and with no barriers being there the only place there is no other place and where we can carry the love of God where my brother is everything to me my sister is everything you know what I mean and I seek and I pull down barriers and I make a way and I remove obstacles in my heart in my heart to love everyone without exception without prejudice without having a label we can stock so many lies so many we can stock so many lies in our heads but this nation Mauritius Mauritius that Mauritian nation that is in sin and darkness there will be no greater testimony to show and prove to men that God is true that God is great and that God loves when they see our love one for another there is no greater proof and God conceals his church that way that way God conceals his church and gives us the opportunity through so many things for example the table of the Lord to humble ourselves a moment like this to humble ourselves to bear we are going to start all over again to love my brother and put back all the fuses that have popped up to put back everything into place but each one is responsible of his own life before the Lord but there is no reason for the love of God not to reign not be present in the midst of his church the gospel is here the gospel of Jesus Christ the message of the cross of Jesus the message where does it bring us to? to the cross to the cross this is where the message brings us to the cross to humble ourselves not to allow the enemy to come and create any kind of tension in the midst of the church of Jesus Christ there will be a drawing together of hearts if we all meet at the feet of the cross and we allow God to break our heart to stop having a position to stay in a position not to seek for our rights and everything will come right and everything else will fit come into its rightful place I want to walk in that room this morning not physically I want to be able to look at anyone any one of you right in your eyes right in your eyes humble myself straighten my heart put my fuses back where they should be any one of you the devil is overcome the devil is a liar he deceives but the truth of the gospel takes place in our hearts and the devil is overcome is conquered defeated in our hearts I want to be clear with everyone whoever you are what you do is not my problem I want to be clear I want to be above above all things and to believe and to keep believing for my life and for your life you agree with that? God is great he is capable God is great and he is able he shows us a road one road if we need to put things straight God will take care of that if we need to sit down, speak the Lord will take care of that how he will lead now I want to have no sad thoughts no preconceived idea if Jesus could have loved me in my sin in my darkness if he could have loved me what will stop me to love love is not a word it is more than a word the love of God is more than a word the love of God must be real must be felt at the same time must follow everything we have said here I want to be clear in all this from verse 4 to verse 8 beginning of verse 8 from verse 4 to the beginning of verse 8 I want to be clear and you who wants to be clear I am the first one to humble myself I am the first one because our lights have come up as I read these verses I want all my fuses to be reconnected all of them each of us who got our own fuses are we all ready this morning to humble ourselves before Jesus are you ready this morning to face situations to be able to face anybody to sort out everything that can be sorted in our hearts that needs to be sorted in our hearts I am ready I am ready to humble myself to ask to forgive anybody who didn't feel my heart that would have been hurt because my fuses just popped up I didn't love the way Jesus loved I have put myself obstacles before myself by my attitudes I think that the Lord will solve many problems if only our hearts is ready to humble themselves and that all our fuses are back into place and the Lord will lead us to put everything back in order to restore everything for everything to come back into place what a great family of Jesus who loves the church of Jesus who loves the church of Jesus Lord I have not been where you wanted me to be forgive me Lord I want to be free I want to love you I want to love this people my brothers and my sisters without any condition I pray this morning for a miracle for a miracle in our hearts Lord we love your church we want your love to reign in our midst we want to humble ourselves this morning and to allow you to restore love relationship all relationship I pray for a miracle this morning you are going to break chains you are going to overthrow obstacles you will bring us all to the cross this morning you need to bring us to the cross Lord this morning all of us without exception set our hearts free Lord set our hearts free may the blood of Jesus Christ this morning purify us set us free and make us be pure that your love may reign in our midst you want us to humble ourselves before you this morning for your church because of your church this nation you have given us this nation you want to put order you want to put order you want to heal and restore you want to erase this morning we humble ourselves before you all those who want this morning humble themselves before the Lord to allow the Lord to allow the Lord to purify our hearts because we want to see the church of Jesus move forward thank you Lord for all those who want to humble themselves for all those who want to humble themselves this morning that together we will stand in the presence of Jesus and we pray for a deep work of the Holy Spirit this morning we look at ourselves we are before your throne Lord we count on your grace Lord you are shining light in our path we want to see your power being manifested in the midst of this church you are calling us this morning to the cross Lord this is where we are going this morning before your altar determined to love our brothers and sisters thank you Lord each of us may find grace before the Lord thank you Lord thank you Lord you show us the road to life give grace to your people may obstacles be removed may you bring our hearts closer together to serve you thank you Lord Jesus fill our hearts with miracles this morning Lord work out miracles in our hearts this morning set us free Lord purify our hearts restore relationships may the plans of the enemy be broken and overthrown Jesus you are the Lord you are the head Hallelujah I want to say to all the brothers with whom I work this morning all the elders of the church this morning that I love you and I want to love you more I want to keep to carry on hoping for my life and for your life and all of you who work for Jesus I want to love you more believe hope for your life and my life and God's people I love you may the love of God reign in our hearts in our midst may we all be able to humble ourselves before the Lord and see the hand of God in our midst may we cause to disappear in our midst all sorts of struggles of problems of obstacles that together we might be able to work for the Lord to love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ with the love of Jesus according to his word it's not always easy but the Lord will help us isn't it?
