If you're in the main sanctuary room 204 if you're in the annex this morning and we'll have a gift for you there and some New Yorkers will greet you and it'll be worth your while to make the effort to go out and be part of that. Bless God. We meet again three o'clock this afternoon and then six this evening is our evangelistic service. If you have a friend and you've been trying to get the gospel through and you're having difficulty make sure you get them out tonight. Bring your family members out that are wavering and their commitment or backslidden and let's trust the Lord together to touch them especially in the lateness of this hour. Message this morning is entitled go and get your family. Go and get your family. First Samuel chapter 30. Please if you go there in the Old Testament it's right before the books of Kings. First Samuel chapter 30 and while we're turning there let's pray. Father thank you for the anointing of the Holy Spirit. God Almighty you're the only one that can anoint this word and you are the only one Holy Spirit that can bring it to life. You are the one who causes what we hear to spring up from within us and it produces in us a fountain of living water. Oh God wash our minds today. Wash our hearts. Lord give us these things that you promised. You said a new mind, a new heart, a new spirit. God we come because we want these things and whatever is of the old, whatever is trying to masquerade as something of God. Lord we're asking you to wash it away with your truth. Grant us hearts Lord to want what you have for us and who you are and what it means to be the church of Jesus Christ. Give me the anointing to speak this. Oh God in my frailty Lord expand the borders of this human vessel and make me much more than I am. God give my mind the power to reason. Help me Lord. Help me God just to follow in your footsteps. I'm asking Lord that this not be just a word for people today but it'd be something that causes your kingdom to come within us an incredible power and we thank you for it. God I give you praise before we even hear or before I open my mouth. I give you the glory Lord. This is all from you. It all is yours. It all goes back to you Lord. Thank you God. Thank you Lord. Lives are going to change. There's going to be change today in people's lives. I thank you God. Missionaries are going to be born at this altar today. Oh God evangelists are going to come to the forefront. People who have callings and don't know it are going to be having open to them. Their mind and spirit is going to be open to the possible and that becomes possible in Christ. And Father I thank you for it with everything in me in Jesus mighty name. First Samuel chapter 30 verse 3. So David and his men came to the city and behold it was burned with fire. Their wives and their sons and their daughters were taken captives. Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept until they had no more power to weep. And David's two wives were taken captives Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. And David was greatly distressed for the people spake of stoning him. Because the soul of all the people was grieved and every man for his sons and for his daughters. But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. And David said to Abiathar the priest Ahimelech's son I pray they bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought hither the ephod. Now that was the garment that you wore when you were about to go into prayer and seek God. And David inquired at the Lord verse 8 saying shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him pursue for thou shalt surely overtake them and without fail recover all. So David went he and 600 men that were with him and came to the brook beshore where those that were left behind stayed. But David pursued he and 400 men for 200 abode behind which were so faint that they could not go over the brook beshore. Now all this is going to tie in together in just a moment. You're going to see what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us. Especially considering the lateness of the hour. 2nd Timothy chapter 3 verse 16 the apostle Paul says that all scripture is given by inspiration of God. It's profitable for doctrine for reproof for correction for instruction and righteousness that the man of God may be perfect. And that word perfect means he may be qualified to serve his divine purpose. Now let me just say it simply. God says I wrote something down for you and from this if we have a heart for it we are to learn. And the learning will bring us into a place where we are qualified to become what God has destined us to be. Thoroughly furnished Paul says that means put in an appropriate condition unto all good works. The Bible is given to you and me first of all by the promises the apostle Peter says we become partakers of the divine nature of Christ. We know this but also there's instruction here. There's correction if we've taken a wrong turn if we're looking in the wrong direction. The scriptures are given to us and the Holy Spirit will quicken this word of God and will quite readily straighten every crooked path. Paul says in 1st Corinthians chapter 10 verse 11 that even the judgments of God which came upon his own people in the season of course where they're in the wilderness in their disobedience were written down for our admonition but it means our instruction upon whom the ends of the world are come. Well folks I don't know about you but I think we've come to close to the end. We're there now. We're at an exciting time in history an exciting yes a distressful time for the whole world but an exciting time if you truly know Christ as your Lord and Savior. Now I'm thankful that God just doesn't record the successes in the scripture. I'm thankful he records the failures so that we can understand truth as it applies to our path. We can see where people before us have made mistakes and what has come to them because of these mistakes. What kind of mistakes have they made and if we're wise of heart can wisdom speak to us as the book of Proverbs says. Can something of the heart of God cry out to us and can we cry back to God in unison and agreement with truth and say Lord help me not to walk this pathway. God don't let me do this. I see that there's no blessing in it. I see there's no future in this and we see it in the life of David. Now David was a young man he was anointed to and called to rule and reign just as you and I have been also. The scripture calls us kings and priests says conclusively that we are destined to rule and reign with Christ. So David's life is a type of your life and the type of my life. It's a foreshadow as it is. He knew in the beginning that he was chosen and anointed the spirit of the Lord. It says in 1st Samuel 16 13 Samuel walked into his father Jesse's house and singled him out from among his brethren and the anointing of God symbolized by the pouring of oil came upon him. Do you remember the day when you knew that you were called of God? You were singled out maybe from your family and you look around at all of those that perhaps were more eloquent than you maybe more qualified to live for God and to represent God and David must have been stunned in a sense as he looked at Eliab his older brother and others who seemed to be have it much more together than he did but yet God looked at his heart and singled him out and put the anointing of his Holy Spirit upon him and the scripture says the spirit of the Lord came on David from that day forward and how wonderful it was the day you came to Christ if you if you are among those who have come to Christ and the Holy Spirit came upon you and you knew you were loved of God and you had an inner sense that there's a divine purpose ahead of your life. If you are truly a child of God you have to have this inner sense that I'm not just saved to sing songs as wonderful as that might be but there's a divine purpose now God is going to show something of himself through my life and it's going to cause glory to be brought to his name. We see in the same chapter that David has become a worshiper and such a a worshiper his songs are so sweet they're so full of faith and power that the devil has to back away. Then an evil spirit would come upon Saul and when David would worship folks when your worship is pure there are people that come into this sanctuary the devil is all over them he's all over their mind he's trying to depress them he's telling them to commit suicide he's he's telling them there's no point or purpose to their life and as you're just standing next to somebody you lift your hands and you're a new convert perhaps or maybe an old one who's wise and your songs are still sweet and full of faith and power and all of a sudden the person beside you their mind clears and they feel hope they have a sense that there's something that God could do with my life and the next thing you know they're all the calls given they're saying excuse me excuse me can I get by they're heading out down the aisle and you have no idea that it's because of the pureness and the sweetness and the faith and the power and your song and in your worship that the devil has been forced to be pushed back from somebody's mind and from somebody's life in the next chapter 1st Samuel 17 David is given supernatural power to fight battles that cannot be won by any strength of organization or the ingenuity of man he comes into the camp you know the story many of you are very familiar with it Israel is fighting against the Philistine army a giant's coming into the valley every day and it's the voice of the devil himself and is challenging the armies of God to find a man anybody that can stand against him and saying basically if you can defeat us defeat me then we will be your servants David comes in he's just a young man he has no formal military training but he has been walking with God he's been singing his sweet songs the anointing of God is upon him and David is willing to risk all for the honor of God he knows that it's about the honor of God it's not about the strength of man it's about the honor of God and David begins to run around saying to all who can listen is there not a cause why are you letting this buffoon of a giant say his thing every morning why is nobody standing up against him and all of those who have been going to their seminars on seals and faith and swords and have no power to fight in that generation are annoyed with David because the anointing of God is upon him and David finally convinces the king and takes all that he has he has a little stone a symbolic of a promise from God and he has a a sling and goes down and faces this giant puts his stone very deep in his forehead and that was the end of that particular giant that was the end of that season of the enemies railing against the armies of Jesus Christ David had a willingness to risk everything for the honor of God do you remember the day perhaps if you're an older Christian when you were willing to risk everything you're willing to risk your reputation your future your job what people said about you it didn't matter it was more important that God be honored more important the name of Jesus Christ be lifted up and you didn't care what people said let them snicker in the lunchroom let them laugh at you in the hallways of your building let your family say what they will say and you didn't care you were going on with God and you kept your sweet song the anointing of God was upon you and you had supernatural power to fight oh folks don't ever lose the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit to fight the battle that God has called you and I into but all of a sudden in 1st Samuel chapter 18 and this is a pattern we're talking about of the believer's life David begins to endure fierce opposition that only seems to intensify every day opposition he never dreamed was going to come into his life from a source he never believed it was going to come from he was being as loyal as he knew how and all of a sudden this insane spirit starts coming after him and Satan will come after those who have the anointing of God and he will use whatever vessel he can get ahold of in or out of what's supposed to be the church of Jesus Christ he will come against the anointing Satan hates the anointing and everyone who's walking with a natural mind which is exactly what Saul was doing will become a vessel through whom the enemy can speak against the anointing of Peter said in 1st Peter chapter 4 verse 12 he said beloved don't think it's strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you as though some strange thing has happened to you Jesus said in John chapter 16 verse 33 in this world you shall have tribulation but be of good cheer I've overcome the world Jesus is saying no you're going to have storms you're going to be resisted there's going to be opposition to my life within you you're going to be evil spoken about there's going to be difficulty you're not going to walk through this life preserved and happy and famous it just is not going to happen you are going to go through trouble you're going to have enemies you never had before you you sat at a gambling table you drank liquor you cursed and swore everybody was your friend and all of a sudden they're your enemies they're your sworn enemies because you want to do right you want to live for God from within your own house Jesus said you'll have enemies sons against fathers and fathers against sons and mothers against daughters and a man's enemy shall be they of his own household Jesus said yes you're going to have enemies settle it deep and settle it quick in your heart it's not going to be a picnic there's going to be a war when you start walking in the anointing of the Holy Ghost Peter says it best in 1st Peter chapter 4 verse 19 if we suffer according to the will of God we should commit our the keeping of our souls to him and well-doing as under as unto a faithful creator in other words even if the path God has me on brings some unforeseen hardship he has not failed me or done me wrong folks people get it in their heads when hardship comes that God has done me wrong or God has failed me and there's a lot of theology out there that will back that up that somehow God is against me but listen to the psalmist in Psalm 119 verse 75 he said I know O Lord that thy judgments are right and thou in faithfulness has afflicted me God I have come into this affliction because you are faithful to me you've never taken away your hand of faithfulness folks I've learned a whole lot more in the valley than I've learned on the mountaintop I'd love to live on the mountaintop all of my Christian life and so would you I'd love to play my sweet songs and have everybody love me and love God and I'd like to just go through this life and one day have a chariot come and get me and take me home but unfortunately we have to keep on the journey and there are valleys but it's in those valleys that I have learned it's in those valleys I've found the strength of God it's in those valleys that I've seen that God you you are you have been faithful to me you you have been working something in me that I might not have been willing to hear had I stayed on the mountaintop folks I'm telling you is it not true that in the valley that's when your heart opens and you say God are you trying to tell me something would you speak to me strange isn't it that we don't cry that cry on the mountaintop on the mountaintop we just assume everything is fine and we just carry on our way but in the valley oh in the valley I've learned to appreciate I've learned to embrace these times no I when I get out of the last valley I'm not exactly running to a travel agency looking for the next trip into the next one but I know that God in his faithfulness will allow me to keep me in faithfulness the psalmist says thou hast afflicted me actually three times in psalm 119 the psalmist talks about God in faithfulness he said before I was afflicted I went astray but now I have learned your statutes you see in faithfulness God you will not let me go it was in a season of difficulty and with this issue of hardship that David came to a wrong conclusion and when he came to a wrong conclusion he began to move in a direction where there is no victory and that's exactly what happens to many people they they get into hardship as a Christian and they form a wrong conclusion based on their circumstances and the wrong conclusion leads them into a place where there is no life and there's no victory look at chapter 27 of first Samuel verse 1 now David says in his heart I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul now did God tell him that what did God tell him no you're going to be a king that's why the anointing has come upon you you're going to lead my people Israel but David said in his heart I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul the moment you and I give place to wrong reasoning reasoning that is not of faith reasoning that comes from the natural mind then we begin to pursue a path of the natural man the natural way of doing things in natural thinking there's nothing better for me now watch what he does there's nothing better for me now he begins to choose where the good path is then I should speedily escape into the land of the philistines the philistines of all places the very people he stood against on the mountain when he was just a boy now he says I'm going to find safety he knew they were the enemy now he feels that he's going to find safety in the enemy's camp and Saul shall despair of me to seek me anymore in the coast of Israel and I will escape out of his hand now he's following his own reasoning now he's living in it he's thinking about ways he can escape hardship how he can preserve his own life and in some measure find happiness and a sense of fulfillment again he gathers to himself a form of strength along this journey and could speak of some minor victories there were people in this wilderness place that gathered themselves to him the bible tells us he became a captain over them and he began to take daily journeys into the places of former enemies and he was winning victories so he could people who are living according to their own thinking can claim victories they can talk about victories they can testify of victories but they don't realize where this whole pathway is leading them but at the end of this journey he ends up on the wrong side of the battle he's caught in a place of wanting the favor of two opposing kingdoms can you imagine i don't know to this day what david was thinking i know when i get to heaven i want to find out what was he going to do he is now in a battle on the wrong side of the valley he was on the right side years ago now he's on the wrong side he's with the philistine army this king called acacia gath is now at least the king that he's professing loyalty to on the other side is saul and jonathan jonathan saul of course is distant from god but jonathan is still his best friend and the armies of israel what is he going to do he's caught and it's like the reasonings of a of a carnal man a carnal church a carnal people who are walking in their own reasoning and they want the favor of two kingdoms there's a lot of theology like this today in the body of jesus christ theology that puts to the people things that god says are not good as if they are good people who say yes i want christ but i want everything the world has got to offer and all of his protection and i i want to i want a king there but i don't want to forsake the king over here and they're stuck between two worlds and and the scripture speaks about it and talks about when when we're stuck in this place you can even have a reputation you can even pull it all together you can sing all the right songs you can even have preachers that are dynamic you can have testimonies of momentary victory in the book of revelation there was a church in revelation chapter 3 called sardis jesus came to this church and said you have a reputation that you live but you're dead and the word dead in the greek is necros and it means you are you are cut off from the enlivening influence of the holy spirit you're moving forward and your community is saying oh have you been there have you experienced the worship have you heard the talk of their victories but the lord looks deeper and he says no but this is a church that is walking with its natural reasoning its its seminars are all about strategy and all about plans that come from human minds and human hearts and all about how we can do this and how we can turn our societies to god and it's it's all coming from the natural mind it's not coming from the holy spirit there's nothing supernatural in it this is what the lord is saying to the church of sardis you have a reputation in your community your city perhaps even in the nation or beyond but there's nothing of the holy spirit in it therefore it's doomed to fail it's stuck between two kingdoms it's operating out of the natural mind but yet attesting to the fact that it is representing a supernatural kingdom of a christ who was raised by the power of god from the dead now in this place the lord sovereignly sends david back to his encampment back to that which he thought he was building and folks when you and i are off track when the church body at large perhaps in the western world today has gotten itself into a bit of a mess the lord will sovereignly send it back to something and sovereignly begin to open heaven and sovereignly begin to teach us about his kingdom one time again now he sends him back and it's the sum total of all that he's accumulated on this journey it's where we started in our text only to find that his enemies have seemingly triumphed over him the folks were living in a generation that if we have the courage to say it the divorce rate in the church seems to be on equal par with the divorce rate in the world now we're being triumphed over in great measure something is wrong if anybody has the courage to say it in this generation have we missed something have we david comes back and finally his eyes are opened and all that he's gathered on this journey of living in his own reasoning is in this encampment in a city that he has made called ziklag and while he's been out trying to preserve himself the enemy is a god have come in and they've taken away all of his sons and his wives and his daughters his family is gone his family has been taken captive while he's been out on this journey and the scripture tells us the people lifted up their voice and wept until they had no more power to weep and david's two wives were taken now this is very symbolic when you begin to look at who these were now we understand in the context of christ that a wife is a life partner now i know that's not being done very much today but a wife is a life partner this is somebody given of god that the two are no longer two but one and this person this wife or husband is to be yours until death parts you and david comes into the camp and you see god had given him two life partners and these two life partners have been taken from him now i wonder if this is the beginning where his eyes begin to open as to what kind of a pathway he's really on the first wife that is mentioned here is a henoem the jezreel itis now it's interesting because jezreel had a significance to david and to the kingdom of god it was in jezreel where the spirit of the lord came upon elijah and elijah by god's spirit was enabled to outrun the chariot of ahab into the city after the confrontation on mount carmel unger's bible dictionary says that there was a spring of water there called goliath spring and it's assumed that in this area called jezreel that's where the defeat of goliath under david had taken place and you see god had given him a life partner there and that life partner is an understanding that it's not by might it's not by power it's by my spirit saith the lord that's a life partner to the church folks that's my life partner and that's your life partner oh yes we are given wives and husbands in this life but in the spirit we're given something that is that is not temporary at last for all of eternity that i've been given a life partner and david perhaps his mind opened again to when samuel came and anointed him with the horn of oil that a life partner of god was given to him the anointing of the holy spirit and by the anointing of the holy spirit he was enabled to be more than he could ever be by any amount of his own reasoning any amount of his own planning reasoning and planning folks would not have put a 14 or 15 year old boy with a stone in his pocket to face a giant no it's not by might it's not by power that we become what we're called to be it's by the anointing of the holy spirit it's by the power of the holy spirit it's by this life of christ in the spirit within us that we become more than we could ever hope to be we stand against powers of darkness we see kingdoms of evil begin to fall by the power of the holy spirit within us and now david comes back to the camp and sees that this life partner has been taken from him i wonder i wonder i wonder for our generation that many of god's people who have just traveled the country from seminar to seminar on how to do this and how to do that have the sense again to look and say god you gave me a life partner in the holy spirit what have i done with this relationship how have i let your holy spirit govern my life how have i let you manifest the glory of god through me have i let you take my mind to places i could not go have i have i let you invite me into impossible places that you might give me the strength that i need and be glorified through me oh holy spirit what have i done what have i done everything can be taken from the church of jesus christ but the moment you take the holy spirit we have lost the very reason for living and abigail who used to be the wife of nabal the carmelite you remember david in his wilderness journey had one day gotten angry and he got in the flesh and he set out to do what god had instinctively told him not to do and he set out to kill this man and to kill all of his household because he was offended at how this man had rewarded him evil for the good that he'd done to him and on the way that journey enable had a righteous wife and her name was abigail and she met david in the wilderness and the word of the lord came out of her mouth and she said david you're going to be a king you're going to be a great king and god is going to fight against all your enemies and she said david when you get to that place where god has destined you to go do not mar your inheritance by having taken things in your own hand let the lord be your defender and the lord will look after you and the lord will see to defending you against all of your enemies do not david take this thing into your own hand and david heard the word of the lord from this righteous woman and he turned from the way of the flesh by the word of god now david had lost this supernatural power that he once relied upon and he'd also had taken from him this tender heart that could be met and turned from the ways of the flesh by the word of god folks don't lose that tender heart don't let it be taken from you don't get so religious that you can't be challenged don't think that everything you're doing is always right in the sight of god no you have to have a heart that's open to being challenged you have to be able to be stopped in this journey you will head out and think that something you're doing is right but god will come through his word and say no it's not right you're going to mar your inheritance but david had lost all of this these things have been taken from him if you go through his journey in the wilderness you will see that he had committed atrocity really he did he killed men women children so that reports could not come back to the philistine king about what he was actually doing while he was going out on these forays david was brought into places that he shouldn't be going because he was being led by his own natural reasoning and he had lost this tenderness of god's word when he was walking in the flesh and now in verse six he says david was greatly distressed for the people spake of stoning him now isn't that amazing what he had once done to goliath the people now want to do to him all of his own reasoning now stood against him the people now are angry i wonder are we are we living in a generation where there's the people are angry with the church but they're angry for reasons we don't yet understand is it possible that that there's an anger brewing in society and you can feel it in the airwaves but is it possible there's a reason we've not yet understood this is it possible that we've not truly displayed the glory of god is it possible we've not been walking in the supernatural to the measure that we have been destined to do so in christ is it possible that there's an anger around us and this anger around us as a society that's starting to see that the mouth against the church of jesus christ is it possible now that it's time for you and i to do again what david did the bible says every man the people were grieved every man for his sons and daughters and we're living in a society that's grieved today people are grieved families are breaking apart marriages are being destroyed and ultimately the greatest grievance of all is against god because people look out and say where is god in all of this i remember after 9 11 we went to a gathering of families for victims who had died in the towers and the supposed spokesman for god stood up and said i don't know where god is in the midst of all of this and you can feel this grieving in the hearts of the people you can feel saying where is god just tell us where god is tell us where the power of god is show us how we can get back again how can we get our families back how can we get our children back how can we get our homes back how can we get our sanity back as a society how can we get back the things that we've lost and there's a grieving at david who is a type of the church the anointed church of jesus christ there's a grieving at david and the people are starting to throw stones at this man of god and then the scripture says david encouraged himself in the lord his god david encouraged himself david got back into the book as it is david got back into the bible and said god bring me back again to the victories bring me back to an understanding of why the anointing is given bring me back to worship again oh god where i trusted you lord and i was not afraid when everyone else was afraid i was not afraid bring me back to the place where i saw gain and now i'm only seeing loss bring me back to the place oh god where armies that had formerly been terrified ran into the valley and became partakers of a great victory because i was walking with you in the spirit god bring me back encouraged himself then he says to the priest bring me the ephod in other words bring me back to the place of seeking and obeying god david said i've i've gotten distant from the place of prayer i've left off seeking god i've left off this realm of the impossible where god begins to speak what only god can speak and i begin to walk with him in simple obedience bring me back again to the closet of prayer and as david goes back and inquires in verse 8 he said shall i pursue after this troop shall i overtake them and he answered him that's the lord and said pursue you will surely overtake them and without fail you will recover all god says to david go get your family david go get your family you see when we go to the prayer closet we will always get that same message from the lord go get your family now in paul in acts chapter 2017 verses 24 to 26 says this he's defending the gospel now in athens in verse 24 he basically says god made all things and in verse 26 he said he has made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on the face of the earth one blood from adam one blood yes different colors yes we live in different places and yes we have different boundaries but we're all of one blood and whether or not you can understand this we are one family on the face of planet earth from the time that adam's created till the time that christ comes and takes us home we are of one blood we are one family and when david began to seek god god said go get your family go get your family david you've been living for yourself david you've been living to save yourself david you've been living for your own comfort david you've been living to survive david you've wanted peace and stability in your own life david and while you have pursued these things exclusively your family has been taken multitudes and multitudes of sons and daughters and mothers and wives and husbands have been taken into captivity and so when you begin to seek god god says david david david david church of jesus christ go get your family go get your family that's what jesus meant in matthew 28 when he said go into all nations teach them the things that i've commanded you baptize them in the name of the father and the son and the holy ghost and lo i'm with you always even to the end of the world go get your family david go get your family that will always be the call don't live for yourself live for others don't live to be prosperous live for the prosperity of others go get your family david david once again begins to obey god he took all that he had with him in verses 9 and 10 verse 10 in particular it says he pursued and 400 men and 200 abode behind they were so faint they could not overgrow go over the brook be sure in other words leave behind you that which does not have enough strength to make the journey leave behind you your own fears leave behind you your own reasonings leave behind you the pursuit of yourself all these things can't make the journey all these things will never bring you and i to victory all these things will leave the church alive in stock with the nations of the world throwing stones at her leave these things behind leave these carnal reasonings behind none of them have enough power to undertake this journey and go in the strength of god's word folks that's how it's always been that's how it always will be hallelujah there are people today you're going to hear this message and you're going to recover all that's been taken from you you're going to get back the anointing of god you're going to get back your sweet song you're going to get back the leading of the holy ghost you're going to get back freedom from fear you're going to go where nobody can go but those who are carried by the spirit of god you're going to delight yourself in being taken into impossible places that one more time jesus christ in the power of the holy ghost may show himself to be god through your life your life will be lived for the honor of god for the glory of god not to preserve yourself but for the glory of god and as paul you'll be able to say if i live i live for christ if i die it's gained but i am living for the glory of god that christ may be seen in me the lord says start at home and take back what the enemy has taken from you take it back yes you may not be able to bring it into your physical home there are some separations that by law and circumstance are complete in that sense but in the spiritual realm you can always go and get back for the kingdom of god that which you have left behind go to your natural extended family so many people become christians and we make the mistake we head out to be preserved we head out to rule and reign and to do all of these things that we think are important and we forget our natural family and our extended family and leave them all behind we write them off as if they're insignificant and unimportant but when we finally think god's heart gets a hold of us the lord says now go back and get your family go back humble yourself and get your family back a postcard a letter a birthday card just start where you can go and get your family and bring them into the kingdom of god and then ultimately to all persons created in the image of god who have the same blood flowing through their veins that you and i have praise god we get back again to the prayer closet back to the word of god back to the supernatural promises and life of christ get back the very heart and the very reason why god has called us and anointed us blessed be god blessed be god how many have the courage today to say lord god i want to go into the supernatural i don't want to live in the natural i don't want to live this life trying to preserve myself it's not about me you've already saved me you've covered me in your blood you've promised that i'm going to rule and reign in heaven now it's about somebody else it's not about me anymore oh god oh jesus oh jesus how many have the courage to say god take my life and use it god almighty being a christian is not about getting a promotion in my company it's about winning a family in this world to god and bringing them home for eternity fear was the reason why david turned from the pathway of god and so many people today turn from god's pathway because of fear fear fear of the future fear of failure fear of all of these things that they feel are going to be taken from them and david turned because of fear but folks we cannot be afraid we must not be afraid paul the apostle said it this way if god before us who can be against us who can stand against the testimony of christ if god before me who can be against us who can stand against us oh folks it is time for the church to be the church it's time for you to lay hold again of faith in the promises of god it's time to put off all of the boundaries that we create as to what god can do and what he can't do what i will do and what i won't do it's time to let christ be glorified in us again as his body his beloved bride on this side of eternity hallelujah there's so little time but there's a world now that's crying again for the glory of god to be seen in his house they're crying for somebody to stand up and say this is who god is this is what god does this is how god delivers this is the mind that god gives this is the heart that god puts within those who are willing to call out to him those who are willing to walk and risk all for the honor of god praise god count me in count me in folks i've come through this battle just as much as you've had to come through it but i'm in right to the end praise god if the holy spirit is speaking to your heart this morning and you say pastor i'm going to get my family and i'm going to trust god for the supernatural power to do it i'm not going to reason it i'm going to hear from god and i'm going to obey him and even when it seems absurd i'm going to obey him i'm going to obey god and he's going to do the miraculous through my life if you're willing to do that i tell you god will give you back a sense of the anointing he'll give you back a song you think you worship now wait till you see how you worship then and he'll begin to lead you into impossible places and show you where the source of the victory is one more time not by power nor by might but by my holy spirit says the lord lord god thank you that you have a church here in new york city you have a church in panama you have a church in the world oh god that is going to walk with you oh jesus we hear you calling us we hear you lord we hear you god and we thank you for difficulties we have to face because difficulties will purify our theology god thank you that you're going to have a people who will stand with you and for you in truth and in righteousness in this generation god almighty i give you praise with everything that's in my heart lord i give you praise oh lord oh god deliver your people out of the hands of carnal men and carnal thinking god let your people come back to the anointing of the holy spirit again let us come back oh god to a spiritual life your word says lord if we walk in the spirit will not fulfill the lust of the flesh god almighty help us to walk in the anointing of the holy spirit thank you for this oh god i pray god today that at this altar be born missionaries into the kingdom of god pastors evangelists godly men and women who will stand ordinary people who will become extraordinary by the spirit of almighty god i pray lord that you put words into people's mouths that will cause people to be startled as we saw on this teen challenge video you'll take impossible situations and turn them around and your name will be glorified through them oh god lord let it begin here let it begin at this altar oh god oh jesus i call out to you to do what only you can do lord my god my god my god you've got to take us where we can't go and you've got to make us what we could never be all we can do is give you our hearts all we can do is come back into your word and come back into the prayer closet and lord you've got to do the rest oh jesus help us to put down limitations help us not to use you to try to seek some kind of a better and an easier life in this world help us oh god and forgive us for this ignorance lord god i pray that you truly have a church in new york city i pray god that every man every woman be a preacher of the gospel of jesus christ i pray not just our words but our lives exude this testimony of the life of christ god almighty god almighty god almighty only you can do this lord but god you're willing and you will i thank you forward with everything in my heart in jesus mighty name the lord says go get your family for everyone who's willing you're willing to do this as we stand here in the education annex in the annex you can stand between the screens here in the main sanctuary come join me at this altar please if you will we're going to pray together as we believe god go get your family it's time folks it's time to go get them sons and daughters go get your mothers and fathers bring them in the hour is very short now get your extended family get the family of others you're created with the same blood in this planet come with a believing heart the children of israel of moses generation died in the wilderness for one simple reason they did not believe that god could do the impossible and there's there's no other thing really that will cause you to die in the wilderness and it's the wilderness of carnal reasoning and much of the church is dying in that wilderness right now around at least in this country do you believe that god can use you do you believe remember how the lord was angered with moses because all that moses could look at was the fact he was 80 years old and he had a stammering tongue and he'd lost all his influence and authority and power he'd been so long doing nothing and the lord was angry and said who made your mouth god says no i give you a new mind i give you a new heart i give you a new spirit i i if you will hear me i will put in you not just the desire but then i'll give you the ability to fulfill the desire that i place in your heart if you delight yourself in me i will give you the new desires not not the old ones i'll give you desires in your heart and then i'll come and fulfill those desires but you and i have to believe you and i have to believe that with god all things are possible even me it's possible god it's possible the history of the church of jesus christ has been built on this foundation that god has taken impossible people and done what only he can do through them he's taken the weak he's taken the nobodies he's taken the nothings as the scripture says no royal lineage no great pedigree and he's taken those who have hearts for him and he has changed us into the image and glory of christ and he's glorified his name through and insignificant people in the world who become significant through christ do you believe that's really the key if you believe you'll go to the prayer closet in the prayer closet the lord will start speaking things that are impossible in your natural mind they are god will say to somebody here go get uncle alvin might be the most debauched torn down drunk and drug addict in your entire clan your entire family the lord says go get him do you believe now it might be a five-year journey but if god's spoken it he'll make it happen he'll bring it about others the lord's going to start speaking about missions trips he's going to start speaking about neighbors he's going to just start speaking and if you have the audacity to follow him i've done what david did this week i've just taken a journey in my mind into the past and what the lord has done how he's done it and when you do that if you've known him you say god how how could you fail me how could i limit you when i consider what you've done already now i'm going to pray for you today i'm not going to ask you to pray father lord lord ezekiel stood and saw a great army and they were on their feet but until the breath of god came they had no power to stand holy spirit we need you we bend our hearts and our knee to you lord we need you holy spirit we can't live this life without you we can't testify to the resurrection of christ if you are not living that testimony within us god almighty we need you holy spirit i'm asking you to come and breathe on us again breathe on each of us anew and afresh give us the power of god to believe you give us the willingness to stand and move into the impossible oh lord and when the impossible happens make our lips speedily help us to give glory to you lord without hesitation let us not be ashamed of you in the midst of this dark generation i thank you god lift your hands will you just for a moment call out to the holy spirit just do it unashamedly ask the holy spirit to come and fill you just ask the holy spirit to fill you now we can't undertake this journey without the power of the holy spirit oh holy spirit oh holy spirit holy spirit come and fill your church god almighty make us supernatural lord make us supernatural god quick in our minds quick in our bodies quick in our hearts take us into your word again oh god give us the ability to pray to live holy lives god to walk in the miraculous i pray now holy spirit come let gifts of healing begin to flow through your body let words of wisdom begin to be imparted oh god let for the glory of christ for the honor of christ oh god in this generation let the people not gnash their teeth at the church any longer let the name of the lord be lifted up and have to be reckoned with oh god oh holy spirit come holy spirit come holy spirit come empower your church lord lord you're hearing the cry of your people god we give you praise and glory we thank you lord we thank you that david encouraged himself in the lord we're encouraged oh god we're encouraged we know that you're with us and not against us and we thank you god with everything in us lord we give you praise give him praise and give him glory oh lord thank you god thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord thank you god hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah this is the conclusion of the message
