Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Sermon Summary
In this sermon, the speaker begins by referencing Malachi 3:1, which speaks of the coming of John the Baptist as a messenger to prepare the way for Jesus Christ. The speaker emphasizes the importance of understanding and preparing for the coming of the Lord. They then turn to John 15, discussing the commandment to love the Lord with all our heart and our neighbors as ourselves. The speaker explains that it is impossible for us to fulfill this commandment on our own, but Jesus came to perfect this love in us through his grace, word, and spirit. The sermon concludes with the encouragement to have a deep and passionate love for the Lord, similar to the way we would feel in a romantic relationship, and to allow him to have all our heart, mind, soul, and strength.

We urge you to listen to all the tapes in the series in numerical order so that the whole teaching can be received and understood. Listening to a part of this series or to the tapes out of sequence can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. Malachi 3. Malachi 3, if we start right there, let's start in verse 1. Behold, I'm going to send my messengers. John the Baptist is a messenger. He's going to clear the way before me, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord speaking, and the Lord whom you will seek will suddenly come into his temple, and the messenger of the covenant, glory be to God to his name, in whom you delight. Behold his coming, said the Lord of hosts, but who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? That word stand is a key word, right? Who's going to stand? You're either going to stand and hear the word of God and not act on it, and the flood's going to sweep you away, that's the flood of the last days, or else you're going to stand, and you're going to come to this fire, and you're going to have the nature and character of God, which is a golden siver. We're either wood, hay, and stubble, or we're going to be golden siver. Now verse 2, but who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he's like a refiner's fire, there it is, and like fuller's soap, and he's going to sit as a smeller, and he's going to be a purifier of silver, and he's going to purify the sons of Levi, that's us, he's going to refine them like golden silver, that's us, that's that divine nature, so that they may present to me what? Offerings and righteousness. Can put up the Lord Jesus Christ right there, brother. I want to show you what the offerings and righteousness are. It's when this comes out of your mouth right here, there it is. Love, joy, peace, goodness, gentleness, meekness, temperance, and faith. Because you know what the fire is going to do? It's going to remove the nature and character of Satan out of your life. All the works of pride, and all the works of selfishness and self-center is going to be removed. That's what Jesus came to do. Because all of these works right here are the works of the law. They are judgment and wrath. On the powers of darkness, so you'll know on the front end, attach themselves to every one of these fleshly sins. You follow me so far? I don't care what kind of a religious position you have, any of these things that's being practiced in your life, the powers of darkness have attached themselves to it. You have strongholds and fortresses in you. And death is working in everyone in the world. And the only way that they can be set free from that is through the Lord Jesus Christ, and that's what salvation is. Salvation is being set free, healed, and delivered. And you never get set free, healed, and delivered because some man comes into town and waves some magic wand over you, and doesn't even have a message of holiness. That's where the powers of darkness work to make men look good and deceive you, because that's what 2 Thessalonians 2 is talking about. But what the Lord Jesus Christ has come to do is the Word of God and the Spirit of God to wash all of these sins and nature and character of Satan out of your heart and out of your life. Amen? And then you'll have a pure heart, and the goal of this instruction is love from a pure heart. And when you have a pure heart, you're going to bear the fruit of love, joy. This is a fruit of righteousness. And that's what the refiners fire for. So when you run from the finers fire, you're not really loving the Lord with all your heart, and you don't have understanding. Because every time he goes through the fire, something's going to leave. And when you get to end that fire right there, I'm going to tell you what, you're going to be freer, and you're going to be different, and a grace and a presence of God are going to be on you more and more. That's what grace is. Grace, as James said, is the power of the gospel to conform you to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ. It's all grace. Grace is not a canopy. Grace is not a canopy for you to go through some form of godliness or religious traditions and still walk in the nature and character of Satan. The wrath of God is still on you. It's still there. All right, now, when he, as he removes these things, see, these fortresses and strongholds, now let me just tell you what they operate off of. These fortresses and strongholds operate off of roots. The only root supposed to be in our heart is to love the Lord with what? All our heart. Now, if we do not love the Lord with all our heart, that means we are loving something else more than the Lord. Amen? And if you're loving something else more than the Lord, you have other gods and other idols. Now, that's where the law comes in. Jesus didn't come to abolish the law. He came to fulfill the law, and the law said you're not going to have any other gods and idols. Do you want me to tell you what the Ten Commandments were really saying? Love the Lord with all your heart and your neighbors as yourself. Now, we're going to go through some kind of basic things, and we're not going to, any scriptures and things we've ever used before in any of these meetings, we're not after revelation, we're after truth. So it's not a thing for me to go do a whole bunch of word studies and show you how much revelation. No, we're going to deal with what's killing us. We're going to deal with the fire, we're going to deal with what's happening to us, what's happening around us, where we're going and how we're going to get there. Amen? Glory be to God forevermore. And if it's in the balance and context of this Word, you receive it, and it's going to change your life. Where are we headed for? The bearer of the fruit of righteousness. Now, that's what the, I want you to know, understand this on the very front end, that God doesn't have any problems with the powers of darkness. He doesn't have any problems with it. You and I do. Amen? They are His instruments of indignation, and we've been brought up in traditions that have totally made us ignorant of the enemy that come to kill, steal, and destroy simply for the reason that our tradition, religious traditions, permitted us to walk under the God's law instead of, so that's the reason judgment's left out. You're blind. When you, when you have some kind of tunnel vision or doctrine that permits you to walk after the, the character and nature of Satan, you're still walking on the wrath of God. Therefore, the enemy is not understood, and so then what you do is develop controversial question. Christian can't have demons. You can't be full of spirit of God and the spirit of the devil and all this kind of thing, and then see, that becomes your new theology, and you just explain your ignorance away about the rest of the Bible that you don't understand about powers of darkness. Or, you know, if you're going to teach holiness and righteousness, then we have a doctrine up here. Where is me one? Here's one. We have a doctrine up here. You know what? We have to protect it because it's just partial truth to begin with. So you have to have all the controversial questions with it, and I want to go through this thing on it. Most of you hadn't even been in a meeting here before, I don't think, and so you have all your, you have a partial truth there. It captures the heart of people, and what you have to do is have all these controversial questions to protect the people's ignorance about the rest of the Bible, because you're just using part of the Bible here. You hear what I'm saying? So then, if you don't deal with the powers of darkness right here, but then you teach your people that Christians can't have demons, and you can't be full of the Spirit of God and Spirit of the Devil, although that's what comes out of your mouth. And then, if you're going to deal with obedience being led by the Spirit of God and walking in holiness and righteousness like the Bible tells us we will walk, then you have controversial questions that, well, you have another one here to protect this doctrine. Dear Lord, make it stand that He believes in sinless perfection, and then all this kind of thing. And then the powers of darkness have things for people that don't want to pray for the sick, you know, God doesn't want to heal everybody, and just all these different kind of things, and all these kind of controversial questions protect doctrines. Are you seeing what I'm saying? And so, but what it does, it protects your ignorance. So then a person that sits there under a doctrine that does not conform you to godliness, he doesn't understand, see, he doesn't learn what the Bible says. He learns to support his doctrine right there. And then when he comes to read the Bible, there's over 400 doctrines and traditions in this country now, when he comes to read his Bible right here, the only thing he can see in this Bible right here is what fits in his doctrine which captured his heart. He has tunnel vision. Now, you follow me? So then the church, what is called church, is divided up into kingdoms of men. Men who've never repented from selfish ambition right here, they're still there, they take the Bible and they're going to teach you. If you have selfish ambition, you're not going to teach righteousness and holiness. You can't build a kingdom with it. You can't, you can't fulfill pride. You can't fulfill greed and these things. So he'll just stand up there with sheep's clothing, and he'll look like a lamb, but he'll speak like a dragon. Here's the way the dragon speaks right here. That's the nature and character of Satan. And so he'll sit up there, and he'll flatter you, he'll tell you how righteous you are, and you're stiff-necked, stubborn, rebellious, and you show up, bring your bricks and straw, show up on Sunday morning, support people who are comfortable in a religious system, and kings and lords over God's heritage. While they have used a banner, which is the image of the beast, when you come to this image right here, you're going to be like the beast. That's the beast right here. You become the image and character and nature of Satan, instead of being conformed to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ through the Spirit and Word, and that only comes through obedience. You don't follow man, you follow the voice of Jesus, and a stranger's voice you will not follow. Glory be to God. So then let me just share one thing. You'll either come through the fire, and you'll have the divine nature of God, you're looking at it. Or else, you're going to be wood, hay, and stubble, and you will not let the fire, the fire of the Spirit, the Word, is not going to remove these works, and it's the fire, who is the power of the darkness, is going to burn you down and cut you down. You're in a fire, and you're going to be burned up in the fire. Salvation is being saved through the fire. Salvation is being removed, the wrath of God. What is salvation? Being saved from the wrath of God. Isn't that true? So salvation comes through Jesus Christ and the Word as you repent, and these deeds in your heart right there, and you don't have to go around and figure out how you're going to do it. I mean, if you're loving, if you're in a love affair of the Lord Jesus Christ, loving with all your heart, and you're being obedient, all of this is going to happen. Because when you love Jesus more than you do stealing, stealing's going to go. When you love Jesus more than you do retaliation, retaliation's going to go. When you love Jesus more than you do bitterness, you love God more than you do any of these things, you're going to give them up. Why? Because you love the Lord with what? Our heart. And that's what the law tells us in Matthew 22, 36-40. We saw it last night. Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. If you love, if you love somebody with all your, if you love, I've often referred to some love relationship, like a boyfriend, you know, or a girlfriend, or when you married your wife, or your husband, when you fell in love with them, what did your mind stay on? Stayed on them. And if they really got your heart, brother, you didn't want to sleep at night. Can I tell you something else? You didn't want to talk about anything else, and you didn't want to think about anything else. You know why? They had all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. Now, if you have a relationship with the Lord, that's where he's going to bring us to. I believe that's what we're in the middle of right now. Isn't that right? Love him with all our heart, soul, and strength. Then when we love the Lord with all our heart, when we love the Lord with all our heart, we don't have any other idols, we don't have any other gods, and so then we come to the Bible. The Bible can worship us because we want to be free from the nature and character of Satan, because we love the Lord more. But when we won't give it up, what do these things become? We see in Colossians 3, 5, it becomes idolatry. That's reading it said, do not practice sin, Galatians 5, 19 through 21. That's in the Bible, in order to not be in the kingdom of heaven, kingdom of God, rather. Amen? So then, so we've seen what the fire is all about. I just want to just touch on that just a little bit. So what do we, what do we want him to do? Verse 3, and he will sit as a smeller, that Jesus, the purifier of silver, he'll purify the sons of Levi, and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord. What are they going to present? Offerings and righteousness. You know what righteousness is? The fruit of righteousness, once again, is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, goodness, gentleness, meekness, temperance, and faith. That's the nature and character of God. Amen? Now look at verse 15. So now, so now we call the arrogant blessed of God. Arrogant people are called blessed of God today. People are walking in arrogance and say they're God's people. In other words, the blessings of God on them, and that's kind of the religious conversation that goes on today. I want to tell you the blessings of God is not all over them. All of them, the curses and hell is all over them. Amen? Now, so now we call the arrogant blessed, but not only are the doers of wickedness build up, that's, they build up right here because there's no repentance taught, but they also test God and escape. In other words, verse 16, then those who feared the Lord, now when we know the real truth that the judgment of God is not left out of the Word, and we know that then we're going to have a fear of God, which is beginning a wisdom. Then those who feared the Lord, that's the eternal gospel of the last days in Revelation 14. Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord, what'd he do? The Lord gave attention. He paid attention, and he heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for those who fear the Lord, who esteem his name. That's this word of God right here. It's the ones that fear God and esteem his name, that's who this word of God is for. And they are going to be mine, says the Lord of hosts, on the day that I prepare my own possession, that's his holy special treasure, and I'm going to spare them. I'm going to put a hedge around those that walks in his righteousness and holiness as a man spares his own son and serves him. Glory be to God. Isn't that good? Now, verse 18, so you will again going to distinguish between the righteous and the what? The ones who walk in lawlessness. This is what we got to do. We got to distinguish between righteousness and lawlessness. Now, it's not enough just to say righteousness and learn this. Righteousness means walking in the character and nature of God and that love, and that's what we were being dealt with, and the Lord is dealing with our hearts right now. Amen? That's what we talked about this morning. We're going to distinguish between the righteous and the ones that walk in lawlessness, which is wickedness, between one who serves God and the one who just what? Serves God. Can I tell you, if you serve God, you're going to be led by the Spirit of God. You know what? Galatians 5, 5, 16 says, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires and the nature of Satan in the flesh. Amen? Which is lawlessness. All sin is lawlessness. Now, now folks, let me just go on right here in chapter 4, verse 1. For behold, the day is coming. That's a day of the Lord. It's burning like a furnace. And all, all, all the arrogant and every, every, every evildoer will be chapped. He's going to be burned up. And the day, that's the day of the Lord is coming, is going to set them ablaze, said the Lord of hosts, so he's going to leave them neither root nor branch. In other words, by your standard of measure, it's going to be measured to you. You and I. Folks, look at me. That's what the law of God is that we're talking about here. Whatever you give out is what you get. That's the judgment. That's the law of God today. By your standard of measure, that's a righteous judgment of God. By your standard of measure, it's measured to you right now. That's the law of God. That's the blessings and curses. But religious people call the arrogant and wicked blessed. There's no distinction between the righteous and the wicked. And you know, that's explained very well over in Ezekiel 44. And you might want to put you a note there sometime and look at it. But this day of the Lord, and this is when the day of the Lord, what it does, now look at me up here. The day of the Lord comes and this is a judgment of God's law. The ones who come to love the Lord, they're seeking the Lord with all their whole heart. And they love the Lord with their whole heart. Now that's the body of Christ. Then when they come to the word of God, and I won't explain this, and you read in the word of God right here, and the word of God shows you that you have rebellion in your heart. Bang. You'll see that rebellion right there and in your heart. Now this is how you're going to be set free in this meeting. And then when you have this rebellion in your heart, bang, the Spirit of God is going to show you. And then in your heart, you're saying, well, I love the Lord more than I do rebellion. And in your heart, you're going to repent. As we just read along in the word, you're going to be repenting of these things. And the powers of darkness attach themselves to rebellion, and criticism, and fun, forgiveness, and all these things in there, the word begins washing you. And you know what happens? Your countenance changes. You know why? The powers of darkness and the strongholds begin coming off of you. You're being perfected in love, the nature and character of God, through the word of God. Are you hearing what I'm saying? And these things will begin coming off of you because you love the Lord with all your heart. But if you're just sitting in some religious setting, then you go through some form of godliness and your ticket's already punched or whatever like that. Then you come to read the word of God. You go through what you call your quiet time or whatever, and your life never changes. You never really change at all, and you always wonder what happens. You just stay under condemnation, and all these things are happening. And it's not a real victory in your life because you've got yourself another Jesus. Because when you come to love the Lord with all you see, if you don't love the Lord with all your heart, when you come to pride right here, and the Lord deals with you to deal with pride, you know what you're going to do? You'll shrink back from the word of God. You know why? You learn to love pride more than you do the Lord, because you've already got your ticket punched. You've got a false assurance. Are you hearing what I'm saying? You don't love the Lord with all your heart. So when you love pride more than you do God. See, pride helps God out, and the more he helps him, the prouder he gets. Gives him money and stuff like that. You know, God's broke. Greed. See, if greed, if you're seeking treasure in this world, you'll take part of the Bible. You'll be like a rich young ruler. Rich young ruler asked Jesus, said, how can I have eternal life? He said, well, you know what the law says. What does the law say? Love the Lord with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. And he said, well, so he named off some of the commandments. He didn't name off the tenth one. And the rich young ruler said, I've done them, those from my youth. And you know, he won't know what I'm lacking. And Jesus just told him one thing. You know, that tenth commandment still got you. Because the rich young ruler loved greed more than he did the Lord. And so what Jesus told him, he said, if you want to be complete, that means saved, be mature. He said, sell all your possessions and give it to the poor. You sell all your possessions, give it to the poor, and then come and follow me. Because there's no use you following me as long as you love greed more than you do me. Because you can't be perfected. And if you want to be complete, go let greed go. And so what did the rich young ruler do? He just walked away. Sadly. Why? Because he loved greed more than he did the Lord. And Jesus didn't call him back because Jesus didn't need his money. And he didn't need, you know, today that fellow got rode up all over the country, wouldn't he? He could, he'd get assurance that he could, he could, he could be, he'd get assurance of the kingdom of heaven and he could go walk with Satan the rest of his life. Which would be a false assurance. And so, see what happens when you, when you're faced with this truth and the word, you get shook up. And this is what Paul said, I'm, you know, I'm sorry that my letter made you sorrow. The letters are the gospel. But I, but I'm, but I'm still glad it made you sorrow because it led you to a repentance according to the will of God. And this repentance is not a worldly sorrow, which lead to death, but it's a, it's a, it's a repentance without regret. In other words, you turn from these things without regret. And I'm going to tell you what, you're in liberty and freedom and love, folks. Why? Because your citizenship is no longer in this world when you come to Jesus. Because he's doing the will on earth as he's doing it in heaven. He wants his will done in your life and my life as it is in heaven. Now, the people of God are going to walk in the will of what I can do in heaven. And everybody else is going to be obvious and evident because they bear the fruit of righteousness in heaven. They love the Lord with all their heart and their neighbor and their self in heaven. Amen. So there we are in verse two, but for you who fear me, that's the ones that love the word. And that's who this gospel is said, he's going to spare them down there. You know, we saw that back in two, uh, three 17, they're going to be mine. But to those who fear me, the son of righteousness is going to rise with healing in his wings. You're going to be go forth and skip about like what? Cash my soul. So I want to tell you something, folks, when I've been going through all my meanness and some things, you know, and just had a whole lot of truth in the word. It wasn't helping me. You know, I'll tell you what I was, I was just sapped by the powers of darkness because I was walking in lawlessness and I'm getting where I skipped now. You get some of this fire off of me. Are you following what I'm saying? When you start repenting and start getting this stuff off of you, folks, you're going to skip like a cave while in the people, in the fire, the ones who practice these things, the power is not going to build those fortresses and strongholds and all the strength and sickness and disease and everything. I'll go and get on them and destroy them. How many of you see what I'm saying? Hold up your hand. Okay. Now, so the curse and judgment and wrath is on the whole earth today. Why is the curse judgment and wrath on the earth today? Because the whole earth walks in the nature and character of Satan. This is what they practice. They don't love their neighbor. That's what the law says. Love the Lord with all your heart, Matthew 22, 36 through 40 and your neighbors yourself. So the judgment of God, and as the people walk and they attach the powers of darkness, they practice these deeds right here. The powers of darkness attach themselves to them and they bring in destruction, they steal them and destroy them. And they're walking in spiritual darkness. That's the reason Jesus came to a people sitting in spiritual darkness, in the shadow of death, they're being destroyed, don't have any idea, don't even know, and don't understand where this disease came from. Disease is not the blessings of God. It's on the curses, if you want to look in Deuteronomy 28. And it's how, we're going to see how these things work here, just on the very front end. And so, Jesus, I want you to remember in Matthew 5, 17, he came, he did not come to abolish God's law. Now we know the rituals and sacrifices have been abolished. But he came to fulfill the law. And he didn't come to fulfill this law with a form of godliness, that you just simply agree that Jesus Son of God died on the cross and raised the dead and you go back to the bar room or sit down or whatever. That's just the beginning. You receive the Spirit of God and the Spirit of God begins to perfect you. And the goal of this instruction is love from a pure heart. And that's what salvation is. And this is what I want you to see very clearly. And I want you, I'm honest, you're going to see it just like looking at that wall over there. It's very, very clear. And now, Jesus, I want you to see this first. Everyone look at it right here. We've got a few preliminaries here to go through and then we're going to really deal with this walk. Let's go to John. John 15. I want everyone to see it. John 15. There's a few basic things we want to get into and so everybody will be at the same place right here. Now, I want to ask you something. Now that you've turned to John 15, I want you to look at me. How can you and I love the Lord with all our heart and our neighbors as well? It's impossible for us to obey the law of God. That's the reason Jesus came in His grace, the Word and the Spirit, to perfect this love in us. And He came that we would bear this fruit, right there, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, goodness. That's the nature and character of God. That kind of love is the nature of God and it doesn't break God's law. Are you hearing what I'm saying? It doesn't break God's law. But none of the world walks in this right here. And we know a good tree cannot bear bad fruit and a bad tree cannot bear what? The fruit of holiness. The bad tree you can't unless you belong to the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. So that's the race we run right there. Now, I want you to see it right here. Now, Jesus came to fulfill the law in you and we obey His commandments. And we know 1 John 2, if you don't obey His commandments, you're a liar. Now, let's say what the Bible says, amen? Because if we don't have any goal of walking in love and holiness, if we don't have to walk, you know what flesh is going to do? You're just not going to do it. You're just going to be religious. So let's see what we have to do right here. Now, first, let's just decide something. Is there anything wrong with loving the Lord with all your heart? You're not against that, are you? What about loving your neighbors yourself? Folks, do you understand whether that's the greatest enjoyable thing that ever happened? To be able to love everybody else yourself. Folks, when you love everybody else yourself, you don't want nothing. You don't be tied down to it. You're too busy sloshing and loving people, amen? And then what happens when you're loving people? The more you love, God just pours out more on you. But your standard of measure, it's measured to you, amen? And it's just one, your whole conversation changes from what God is. And God did this and God did that. What's God going to do now? There's a phone ringing. Let's see what God's done now, amen? But see, we've been programmed in our traditions to walk in, that we can go through some form of God's religious activity, and we can still carry this fear, unforgiveness, and retaliation, and sarcasm, and bitterness, and judgment, and condemning. And by your standard of measure, it's measured to you. When these things come out your mouth, front for you, back for you, pube, choir, platform, you've got a problem with a demon. He's not on your shoulder. That's the law of God. You know what God's law is? Love. Love and the law are not enemies. God said walk in love or get destroyed. That's how severe God is. And you know something? It's a rest. And it's a peace to walk in it. This whole Bible is saying to you, have a love affair with God, because Adam started out that way, walking in innocence. He walked in holiest and righteous, and he fell away because he wanted to go eat off of that tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the lust of flesh, the lust of the eye, and the boast of pride of life. You know what a false teacher teaches you today? He takes this Bible and teaches you, and you, off of that tree, you get the tree of death. He teaches you how to continue to walk that, the lust of flesh, the lust of the eye, and the boast of pride of life, and you walk in these things, and death is all over you. Dissension, division, you bite and devour one another, words spoken against one another, that's the tree of death. What did covenant, why do we have covenant? To get in the presence of God, to have fellowship with him? Well, why have a covenant? Because the covenant is what calls you to walk in holiness, because who will ascend unto the hill of the Lord? He that has what? Clean hands and a pure heart, and that's what old covenant was for, is to get you in the nature and character of God again, where Adam fell from, and that's what it is today, and Jesus comes today to perfect this love. Now, they had their sacrifices back then when they broke God's law, they had their rituals and sacrifices. Let me just tell you today, you walk in peace, and when you break God's law, immediately, you're going to lose your peace. The law is written on your heart. Why is the law written on your heart in Hebrews 8 and 10? Brother, when you're walking in love, you have confidence in your heart, brother, you don't have to go out and ask somebody to have things going between you and God. What is peace? Powers of darkness are not doing anything with you, they can't touch you. You know why? You've got a hedge around you when you're walking in the character and nature of God, when you're obeying the Lord, and that's what Jesus came to do for us. Well, how do we put to death the deeds of the flesh? You don't put them to death, you get in on it. God, you don't even know what's in your heart. What do you know what to put to death? The Spirit, you just get in the love affair of the Lord Jesus Christ, you walk around with the law on your mind all the time? Absolutely not. You walk around with the Lord on your mind, and your love affair with the Lord instinctively leads you to do the law, to be doers of God's law through Christ. Romans 2.13 said, not the hearers of God's law are to be just before God, but the doers of God are to be just before God, because the Gentiles, who do not have the law, instinctively do the works of the law, because they show the law is written in their hearts. And we're going to look at that and see it. So when trials and everything come in our life, they're to test you, and you're going to count it all joy, because, see, if you've been responding in anger, then the things that come to make you angry are going to keep coming back until you, you know, in other words, the powers and darkness, they're instruments of God. They can bring set-up situations where it'll make you angry. And then if you respond with anger, then they can just put more and more bondage on you until you destroy it. But then if you, if all your motivation now is the love of the Lord with all your heart, now listen to me, if all your motivation is the love of the Lord with all your heart, you no longer have to have the approval of people. You no longer, that selfishness, you have to look good to people. You no longer have to prove your case to somebody, although you know that you're right and they're wrong. What you do, you stand when this pressure comes, and something trying to rise up in you, you say, well, glory be to God. Here is a place, the time to please God, because all the motivation, since I love the Lord with all my heart, all my motivation now is to please the Lord. Amen? So since all your motivation please the Lord, you're going to stand there right in that fire, and you're going to resist it. You know, because all your, you're entrusting your soul to a faithful prayer, Lord, I want to please you. I'm going to prove my point to this person. I'm not going to have to look good to everyone else. You have given me so much. That person is attacking me right there, Lord. Your grace, I want to see that person don't know what they're doing. They're breaking your law. You're judging them, and they're getting judgment all over them, and I want to love them. I want the same grace for them that you've given for me. So I choose to be just exactly like you. I'm not going to be like the devil and walk in anger and unforgiveness anymore. And so Lord, I just stand there. I suffer in the flesh. You suffer, but you cease from what? You don't sin, and then what happens? Anger begins dying. Another time or two or three, that thing will come around, and then you're no longer up to, anger doesn't have any more hold on you. Then the Lord will start with something else. All you're doing, listen folks, all we're doing is just walking in a peace and rest, and loving the Lord, keeping our mind on the Lord. See, if our citizenship is moved from the earth into heaven, where's our mind going to be? Building treasures here on earth or building them in heaven? I can't hear you. Now, you know, we can build us a comfort zone for a flesh. We can be religious and help God out, and then, you know, take all of our money and a little, you know, a little leftover and so forth like that. We can just, we can help God out while hurting people are all around us, all in the world, and we have all, we have all kind of possessions to make ourself comfortable in this world, while hurting people are all around us. That's just, that's how the world lives. Get all you can, count all you can get, and step on a whole bunch, get to the top, make a name for yourself. Selfishness, self-love, and self-sense of nature and character are safe. And see, you're permitted in a religious system today to sit right there and do it. And the more you tithe, the better Christian you are, while you walk in death. And then one of these days when the demon of cancer and the demon of tumor are all over you and choking the life right out of you, and all these treasures in that winter home and summer home, and all those stocks and bonds, and all those possessions are not going with you and I. They don't furnish you halls to take them with you. Oh, Solomon, Solomon said, and please, he actually said, it's not going where you're going, it's not, you're not going to take it with you. Where you're headed, it's not going with you. And so what'd you do? You found your portion here on earth. You've proved that you didn't, wasn't, your citizenship was not in heaven. So you spend an eternal eternity in hell. Now, that's the fear of God. The ones that are going to receive that, that's who this Bible is written for. The others that want to use partial truths and so forth like that, go get someone to tickle your ear and don't endure sound doctrine in the last days. Don't walk in love. Just go in there and sit in this religious setting and go out different doors with bitterness and unforgiveness, resentment, and go worship the Lord. And this is where we've all found ourselves. Lest we forget and want to condemn everybody else since we got a little grace to find out about it. All right? All right. So Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law in you and I, that you produce the fruit of righteousness. And we see in John 15 verse 12, Jesus says, this is my commandment, that you will love one another. How much are you to love one another? Oh, just as I've loved you. Now, what kind of a nature do you think that is that we, you and I are going to have to walk into if we love one another as Jesus loved us? First, let's determine something. Is that in the Bible? Let me get my doctrine rolled up here. No, I don't believe that's in there. I'm looking through my doctrine here. I've got tunnel vision. I've got it all rolled up and I'm looking at the Bible here. I don't see that in there. I wonder what the Greek says. Can I tell you what that's saying in Greek? You shall love one another just as I've loved you. Now that's there, isn't it? Let's don't act like it's not there. It's there. And it isn't. Well, now let me ask, let's, let's decide that's not bad unless you're full of the devil and love it. If you and I love one another as Christ has loved us, what in this world do we want? What do you want in this world? You can take everything in the world and it can't produce that. Do you understand that's what Jesus is wanting to produce in us? And it's all grace, and it's all rest, and it's all a peace. It's peace while long as you walk into it, but it quits being peace when you begin practicing in these things. From the moment you make Jesus Christ your Lord, you and I can walk in peace and rest from that time on. But I mean that fire is going to come and get rid of some of this stuff. Can I just share something with you? If you resist, if you just use part of this Bible, and you resist this Bible right here to perform this nature of God in you that loves one another as Christ loved you, you're denying the power of God. That's what they did in 2nd Timothy 3. They walked in a form of godliness, a form of godliness. Walked like you're walking, say you're walking like God when you're walking like Satan. It's a ritual you go through to be comfortable, and you have your ears tickled and told how righteous you are, and you stiff-necked stubborn rebellion while you walk in these sins right here, and the powers of darkness are killing you, and it's a dwelling place of demons because they attach themselves to these sins right there. So what do you do when you walk in this form of godliness? You are denying the power of God. As a matter of fact, when a doctrine that does not conform you to godliness captures your heart, it's all out here, it tells you, then you cannot see godliness and righteousness in the Bible. Can't see it. And a man who teaches you may have memorized the first ten books, and it doesn't matter what kind of knowledge you have, it's going to be of no effect. He can impress you with every historical fact in it, but he's holding a dead book right in his hand. Now let's deal with why. You know, see, it's one thing for us to be dealing with deliverance ministries all over the place, and that's good. It's good to see signs and wonders, but if the devil's not doing to promote some fellow that comes along, then his ministry and his reputation, his name, so you'll fall after him and his ministry. But signs and wonders is getting rid of the devil. And I'm going to tell you what, I don't care what man comes to town or comes through town, you're not going to be free until you repent and return the whole Lord with a whole heart and all the soul, and you will not be restored from captivity. I don't care what kind of message he tells you or what kind of backflips or anything else anybody does, you're not going to be free until you repent. And those religious demons will give you good feelings all over the place, but I'm going to tell you that's the only way it's going to happen. And the more we love, the more discernment we have. The more we love, the freer we get. The more we love, the more God, I mean, just blesses in front of us. Amen? He's just all over us. So your Bible says that you're going to love one another in the very same love that the Lord Jesus Christ came to love you. Now Jesus here came, number one, I want you to remember this for example for you and I. How we walk as he walked. Now you just go ahead and compare and see if the religious system today, if we're walking, if they're walking according as Jesus Christ walked, absolutely not. It's a lie. And the second thing Jesus came for, he came to Calvary because there's no hope for you and I unless there's a place to put our sins. And that's why he went to Calvary. And you and I, without Calvary, you and I do not have a place for this rottenness and everything that's in our minds and in our hearts that we're dealing with right now. Without Calvary and the blood and the cross, we have no place of repentance. So that's the reason why, Paul, we don't have one sinking thing we can boast in. The only thing we can boast in and it's not sinking is the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ where we can put this ugliness and everything so we can be set free from death. Because the powers of darkness are death. The law brings death. The curse and wrath, it's all over the world. It's all over the religious system that walks and talks like the world because what the church calls world today, what the church today calls love, is not what this Bible calls love. You and I ought to walk with the same love as the Lord Jesus Christ, not come over here and bless God and turn around and continue to curse our neighbor. That's where the adulterous walks. That's worldly, fleshly, and demonic. And whoever wants to be a friend of the world, he's the enemy of God and you're destroyed right in the midst of the congregation. And you make anything something real complicated out of the gospel here, it's the simplicity and the purity of devotion to Christ. I want to know it's not complicated. When you make it complicated, then you have to come and bow to men to find out what God is saying. Men, your trust and confidence is not in men. Your confidence is in the Lord Jesus Christ and you're supposed to know His voice. Amen? Speak to a man. We love men because God uses men. But men are not Lord except in a false circumcision where they put their confidence in the flesh. We put no confidence in the flesh. We put no confidence in the flesh. Let me say it one more time. Your confidence is not in men unless you want men to be your king. If you want men to be your king, put your confidence in men. You find any of them, any flavor you want. Now, greater love has no one than this and He laid down His life for His friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. Isn't that right? Now, folks, does Jesus have the greatest love it ever was? Are we supposed to walk as He walked? And then what do we do? The only way you can ever attain to that love is lay down your life. Isn't that right? In other words, when you come to the Lord Jesus Christ, do you have to repent? Well, do you want any of these sins here on the wrath of God? No? You're really not making Jesus Christ Lord. You're like a rich young ruler if you want to hold on to any of them. It doesn't work. Let me see what I'm saying. You want to hold on to greed? Jesus said go on till you get possessions. You don't want to give up greed? Well, go on somewhere. Ain't no use you following Him until you're ready to lay down your life. You're deceiving your own heart. It's a waste of time. Be religious. Stay home, read the paper. Ain't no use showing up at High Corner Tower somewhere and playing church. You're wasting your time unless you're making money there. See, until you decide to lay down your life, whoever wishes it, Jesus said, whoever wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself. There is what you deny, all selfishness and self-centered, living for yourself, self-love, self-worship. Let him deny himself and take up his cross. The cross is death. And when you love the Lord with all your heart, the Spirit of God leads you to put to death all selfishness and self-centered in your life so you can love one another as Christ loved you. That's the fruit of righteousness. That's holiness. That's the sanctification, the pure heart without which no man is going to see the Lord. Any man who wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his fleshly life right here, what's going to happen to it? I can't hear you. He's going to lose it. You're going to lose it. You know why you're going to lose it? Because all these things you hang on to have got a hook on them. It's called demons. They attach themselves to it. Can I tell you something? That's who the Canaanite nations are. If you want to get the Canaanite nations off the land, then you have to deal with this flesh that's in your heart loving the fleshly deeds. And if you don't deal with the fleshly deeds, which has only happened through the Lord Jesus Christ, that's how you save him, the wrath of God. The demons that attach himself to him is the wrath of God. You see what I'm saying? They're the wrath of God. And when you deal with the sins and when you have these washed and cleansed from you, then the powers of darkness, which is the death and wrath of God's law, leave you. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Hold up your hand if you hear what I'm saying. Okay. Now, so greater love has no one than to lay down his life. And we know that we, we need to lay down our life. Now I want you to turn with me to Ephesians two, Ephesians two. Now we know this whole judgment's on the world. Isn't that right? Ephesians two, Ephesians two. Now the world. Now look at me right here. Somebody not looking. The world is under wrath and curse of God. Why? Because they've woken in these deeds and these works right here. Amen? Death is working on them. Now see, that's what you and I repent from when we come to God. Isn't that right? Because see, this is the very opposite. These deeds of the flesh are the very opposite of loving the Lord with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. Can you love your neighbor as yourself when you have criticism and hatred and unforgiveness and pride and bitterness and sarcasm and envy and jealousy and all these things? Huh? And that's reading the wrath of God to him. The law of God said, you're going to love your neighbor as yourself. There's no options. He isn't going to do it. You're going to be destroyed. And that's what the fear of God is. Now, if we're waiting, if we're waiting to see, if we're going to see God as somebody just ready to zap you out, when you're learning how to walk with him and everything, you see, you're letting the Word condemn you and you're not believing in the grace of Christ. That's what grace is. The Lord Jesus Christ, see, it's the power of the gospel. The Lord Jesus Christ is going to, he said, faithful as he had called you and he's going to what? Bring you to pass. And he gives you the Spirit as a pledge. It's a down payment. It's a beginning. And it's a real experience when you receive the Spirit of God. But see, it's not then to say, I've got it now. Let's go back to the bar room or whatever. Let's go back to the pig after washing returns the pig pen and a dog returns for its own vomit. That's what second Peter two is talking about. False teaching, how it leads you right back into the corruption of the world to walk and talk like the world. The Spirit of God comes in you. That's the very beginning. And then you endure to the end. How you endure it then, because you love in the Lord with all your heart. I mean, faithful as he had called you, he's going to bring it to pass. Amen. So, so then when you see the Lord says in Hebrews 12, who he loves, he's going to what? He's going to chasten and reprove. So be zealous therefore. And what? We're going to repent because it's a walk of repentance. When we see anything in our hearts that that's opposite of the Lord, we're going to give it up. We're going to suffer in the flesh and see some sin because why? We love God more than anything else. The motivation in our heart is to love the Lord. See, root is motivation. And see, when we love the Lord with all our heart, all the motivation, everything we're doing, just please God. Amen. That's the way they do it in heaven, by the way. So we want the will of God done on earth that it is where? If you want to be in heaven, you're going to walk like you do in heaven. Amen. And let's just say that. Now that's good. It's good. Unless you're selfish and religious. And then you don't like these verses here in the Bible. Amen. It won't fit there because something that's idolatry, it's got your heart and you're never walking and you sit there and get destroyed. So when you're walking in these things, death is working in you. When you walk out of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, the emotion of pride of life, you know what that is, the nature and character of Satan. Death is working in you. And I want you to see this real quickly in Ephesians two, verse one. And you were dead in your trespasses and sins. Now, are we in New Testament right now? Now it says you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you what? Trespassing God's law. Jesus doesn't lead you to trespass God's law. Jesus leads you to fulfill God's law. Amen. Okay. Now. And so you were dead in your trespasses and sin in which you formerly walked. How? You formerly walked the course of the world. May I ask you something? Is this the way the world walks and talks? I can't hear you. Is that right? Well, then let me just stop right here. Let's just see if, well, if you walk and talk like there's a powers of darkness, the demons got themselves attached to the people in the world. The demons are attached to them, right? Well, let me ask you something. So because it's all trespasses of God's law of love, amen, and by their standard of measure, it's being measured to them. Death. Amen. All right. Now, uh, just let me just share something with you. I'm going to read you something in James three, just a second. I'm just going to make a little illustration. We're going to come back over there later on and to kind of look at something. It says with, with a mouth, we bless her Lord and father. And with this same mouse, we do what? Curse men. There it is right there on the screen, right there. Anger, unforgiveness, judgment from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing my brethren. These things ought not to be this way. This wisdom is not that which comes from heaven, but it's what huh? Earthly as world flesh and demonic. Okay. Now let me, don't you stop right there just a minute. See, you were dead in your trespasses in which you formerly walked according to what the course of the world. But see, when you repent, you lay down your life and you turn from that. Isn't that right? I can't hear you. But then you move into a religious setting and then you start blessing God. Now listen to me and you're continuing to curse your neighbor. He said, this wisdom is not what's come down from above. You're not getting this wisdom from God. You're getting it still get, you're still the world. That's where the religious system is today. You're still in the world. It's worldly and you're still walking out the flesh and the demonic is still controlling you. How many see that? And so, you know what he calls folks like that in James four, verse four, he calls them, what he called them. You what? You adulterous, you whore, you harlot. It's not good to be adulterous. The double-minded person, they receive nothing but God. You adulterous, do you not know that friendship with the world is what? Hostility toward God. Look at me right here. If you want to walk in this rebellion, criticism and unforgiveness and pride, while you come and bless God and you continue to walk in these things, it's worldly flesh and demonic. He said, you adulterous. Don't you know that friendship, walk and talk like the world makes is hostility toward God. And if you want to be a friend of the world, what are you going to do? You're going to make yourself an enemy of God in there. And when you become, when you walk and talk like the world, you're an enemy of God. Now, that's what this Bible said. That's reading it said over there, over in verse 11, four 11, do not speak against one another, brother, because he who speaks against what a brother or judges a brother, he's speaking against a law of love. Do you see that? I added the law of love, but it is the law of love. You're not walking in love. When you curse your neighbor, that's how the powers of darkness come in and the demons move in. Now, let's see, why do we call it adulterous? Look at me right here. What is adulterous in the fleshly sense? If I, am I supposed to love my wife? Am I just, my wife is supposed to love me. I'm going to love the Lord more, but I'm supposed to be loyal to my wife. Well, let's just say my wife decides to, for her heart to love others. She's going to love me and have some other lovers too. You know, that's what, what would that do? Make her a what? Adulterous. All right, I want to tell you something. You know how the God sees you as adulterous? You and I as adulterous? He wants all of our heart. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Love you with all her heart. And when your hearts are loving any of the works of the world in the nature and character of Satan, that's what he calls adulterous. That's why he doesn't like for us to come and bless God and get, and then go out and continue to curse their neighbor. Because he warns us there in verse 12. He says right there, verse 12. Well, let me just finish verse 11. Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother and judges a brother, he speaks against the law and he judges the law. And if you're a judge of the law, you're not a what? Because Jesus leads us to be a doer of the law. And see, in other words, look here, if I want to come, and it's just like us talking about this situation, we want to put anger, unforgiveness, resentment, and judging, and condemning, or we're saying, God, I'll be the judge. No, we leave everybody alone because God's already got his laws in effect for everybody that does anything wrong. All you and I do is love, not break the law. Amen? And that's how we get all the blessings that God just poured out of heaven on us, and we're fixing to see a bunch of them. Amen? But we're not going to do it as long as it's going to be us and them. It's going to be us, and then I am, and we're the only one. You know what I mean? No, we're going to go out there, and we're going to share in love with people who are going to be criticized and hated and persecuted because that's a different, if you're walking in the nature and character of God, you're walking in a totally different world out here. And what do you do? You manifest this love, and then the Spirit of God helps you, and the Lord Jesus works with you so you can go out and snatch others out of this fire that's being destroyed. Amen? Because, I mean, if you're so full of love, you have to get up in the morning and go find people to go give it to. Amen? Try to get some of that with some hundred-dollar bills. Now, in verse 12, there's only one giver and judge, the one who's able, what can he do? He can save you from the wrath of God's law, or he can destroy you by walking under God's law. Who are you to what? You better not judge your neighbor. That's the reason it goes on to say, Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts. You what? Double-minded? You're supposed to have a pure heart, not a double-minded heart. And he says up there in verse 7, Submit, therefore, to God the whole counsel of God, not part of it. And what does it start saying? Ignore the devil. Huh? How do you resist the devil? Resist the devil, and he'll flee from you. We take every thought captive to the obedience of Jesus. Now, I want to tell you something. Don't make anything complicated about this, because, folks, when we really love the Lord, whatever your heart loves, what your mind's going to be on. If you love pride, pride's going to come out your mouth. If you love greed, greed's going to come out your mouth. If you love anger, anger's going to come out your mouth. If you love the Lord, you and I, you draw near to Him, He's And then that relationship begins, and then when you've got your mind, the only thing that you're interested in, when you're loving the Lord with all your heart, folks, it's no problem up here when anger comes. Well, what is all my motivation to plead the Lord? What's that anger doing? I don't want any anger. I don't want any unforgiveness. I don't want any of that resentment. Where'd that come from? Where'd that dark come from? So, you're resisting the devil. You're not interested. Your heart's not interested in those things, because you're selfish people that want to walk in these things, and selfish people are building their treasures here on earth. The people of God, citizenship's on Him. They're looking for a city not built with hands, but it's foundation of God. Wasn't that a beautiful way James explained that? All right, now, we're back in Ephesians 2. For you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you formerly walked, and how did you used to walk? Of course, the world. Now, if you want to get religious, you can still walk there. You can get your ears tickled, and you can move right in there and just keep walking there. And you can be dead in your trespasses, remain dead in your trespasses. Amen? Huh? And then it becomes a dwelling place of demons, and that's the harlot church of the last days. And that's who judgment is coming on. And I want to tell you something, that's a great falling away today. The great falling away today from the faith, and then there are people that's going to wake up, they're hearing the sound of trumpet, and they're going to get ready to make the bridegroom. How are they going to do it? They're going to repent, and they're going to come out from the midst of her, and they're going to be holy and righteous. And, you know, they're not going to go out and get in another ditch and be a spiritual pride and say, you know, we got it, and we're going to continue to judge and condemn everybody. They're going to go out, and they're going to manifest this love and let the Spirit of God build it. Amen? But I'm going to tell you something right now. All of us have been a part of a religious system. So I don't think we should, I'll tell you what, here's what we've got to distinguish between, and I hope you hear me very clearly. We've got to, and I didn't do this for a long time, we've got to distinguish between the system and the people. Can I just go ahead and tell you, I despise the system. And can I tell you something, I love the people. And I'm learning to love them more and more, since the Lord's given me understanding. I really am. And you know what, I'm not, I don't have to be afraid of what they're going to say or what they're going to do, because I know what I know, what I know, what I know, what I know, what I know, what I know, what I know right here in the Bible. I don't care who I'm with or wherever, I know what I know. And I want to love and help people. I don't have to prove I'm right, I don't have to prove anything. I don't have anything to prove, it's not up to me, Jesus Christ won the bill in this church, amen? And I don't have a judge in Him, God said let me do it. Since I wrote the law and I've got the court and I have the cases, let me do the judging. Since it's His world, I think He ought to get to be judging, unless you want to be destroyed, amen? Alright, now if God's already got, now let's understand, what is the law of God? Don't make something, don't get all this burning up caves and all this business going on here. What is the law of God? The law of God is this, it's a righteous judgment of God. Get this in your mind, by your standard of measure, it's measured unto you. Now get, when I come to the Lord Jesus Christ, I hear the gospel and I find out hell's all over me and all of it, and I find out what the true gospel is. And I get down on my face before God and I repent and I say God I don't know what all's in my heart but I know I love you more than I do anything else. And boy I'm telling you what, if you come to the Lord with all your heart, you know what's going to happen to you? When you get up from there, when you get up, when you come to Him with all your heart, the Spirit of God's going to come in and you're going to get up from there walking in peace, amen? You don't have to have anything in your heart today. You're going to have peace. You're a little baby. You're like the one, 1 Corinthians 3, you still practice strife and jealousy. That's where you are. You need a little milk. You might grow in respect to salvation and you start out on milk. You're not ready for any meat or real spiritual things, you just live with a little milk. That's all you can have. And so you begin hearing and you begin watching the milk begin trying to help you get rid of that strife and jealousy and those other things. And as you walk along, you fall. When you fall, all of a sudden you don't have peace in that sweet little relationship with the Lord. All of a sudden, bang! Because He loves you, He removes a hedge and He lets His instruments of indignation. Now why did He come on you? Which is the power of the Lord. Now why did He let His instruments of indignation come on you? Because the Lord is funny. He wants all your heart. And when your heart turned off to that criticism back there, you wasn't loving Him with all your heart. When your heart turned off to this little sarcasm or revenge, you wasn't loving Him with all your heart and bang! He's letting you know, I don't like this. I think I'll just spank you a good one right now. And He lowers a hedge and those powers of darkness who can't do anything without the permission of God. See, He's jealous for your what? He's jealous for your heart right there. And when you let your heart go off, bang! You're going to quit that now. You're not going to have me around for a while. I'm going to let those things beat on you a little bit. So here they come and they beat on you and you say, bang! All hell falls on you. And you say, well, what have I done? And they tell you where God's left you and there was right to begin with. Here they begin talking to you and everything and all this stuff. Lying to you and all this stuff. And then you say, well, what did I do? You begin thinking, of course, a lot of times you'll know what you did and you'll repent and say, God, since I love you more than I do unforgiveness, since I love you more than I do revenge, since I love you more than I do criticism or whatever it was, I'm sorry. I turned from this in my heart. I'm not just confessing it in my mind. I'm turning from it in my heart. Bang! It goes down to blood and God looks down at you right there and he said, well, I see the blood of Jesus over that now. I don't see no more unforgiveness and resent and criticism and so, bang! The power of the darkness. When God does not see you breaking his law of love, the powers of darkness have no ground in your life. Jesus said, the ruler of this world come and then he has nothing worth, nothing in me. Now how do you get things in you? Walk on the transgression of God's law. Now, let's see it right there in the scripture. Ephesians 2, verse 2, and you were dead in your trespasses and sins and when you're dead in them, you've got demons all over you in which you formerly walked the course of the world according to the prince and power of the air. Now, listen, folks. If you want to know what Satan looks like, right there it is, right there. That's the prince of the power of this air. This is his nature right there. When you're walking in your sins and trespass, you're walking in the nature character of Satan. And see, what Jesus done is cleanse you with the word of God and the spirit of God so you'd have the nature of God and love one another as he loved you. Amen? Because your world really hates one another. They exploit one another. They're deceitful. You know, a man is full of deceit when he walks in this thing. He'll speak peace to you while he sets an ambush for you because he could be around people that can fulfill greed in his life, put things in his pocket, or be around people that can make his reputation look good. But see, he shows partiality. You see what I'm saying? Okay, now. So you walk according to the course of the world and the prince and power of the air, and that's where the world walks, according to the prince and power of the air. So when you go back to bless your God and continue to curse your neighbor, you've gone back to walk like the world and the devil. That's when it's worldly fleshing and demonic. You see that? Okay. Now, let's read again. You were dead in your trespasses, saying, in which you formerly walked according to the course of the world, the prince and power of the air, Satan, and of the, what? The demon spirit that right now is working where? In. I can't hear you. In. In. What does in mean? Inside. Inside who? The sons of disobedience. Now, let me ask you something. The next verse that we see that the demon spirits work in the sons of who? Disobedience. They work in. Now, let me show you what a son of disobedience is. Right up here, you see it on the screen. They walk in jealousy, envy, that's the lust of flesh, the lust of the eye, and the boast of pride, the lust. We see what a son of disobedience is right there in verse 3. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lust of flesh, the desire of the flesh and mind, and were by nature, what? Children of what? And that's what the law brings. It brings wrath. Now, see, that's the lust of flesh, and that's who sons of disobedience are. The lust, who walks hath the lust of flesh, the desires of the flesh, and of the mind, and so the powers of darkness, the demon spirit, attach themselves to these lusts of flesh, and they work in this man right here. Amen? They work in, not on your shoulder. So what are we dealing with today? We're not just dealing with signs and wonders, or inner healing, or any number of things right now. We're dealing with the fact why you've got the problem. And then when you deal with the fact how these powers of darkness are getting into you, that's going to mess up people's theology. It's all right to go do the signs and wonders and all of these things, and deliverance and everything, but when you start to deal with why they're there in the first place of people that are supposed to be blessed, then you mess up the theology. That tears down all the four hundred and something different teachings and doctrines and everything, because then that means there's only one church, one righteousness, one gospel. There's not a Presbyterian righteousness, and a Catholic righteousness, and a Methodist righteousness, a Baptist righteousness, a Mormon righteousness, or whatever, assembly of God, whatever. There's only one righteousness, and that's walking right in God's eyes. Can I tell you what walking right in God's eyes is? It's loving the Lord with all your heart and your neighbor yourself, and Jesus came to fulfill in this by leading you to love one another. Christ loved you. We've fallen away from the faith. That's the reason we're not walking there. Now, I want you to just deal with that, because I'm going to tell you it's the most impossible thing in the world. You try to look at this part of the Bible through the eyes of a doctrine that does not conform you to God, and you won't even try. And you just keep showing up ever to the religious exercise, and you just learn to resist the Word of God. You hear two or three scriptures, and the man tells you nice stories to build up his selfish ambition, which is what he's walking in to begin with, unless it's someone that really loves the Lord, and the Lord is dealing with them just like he has us. It's no different. So, they're children of wrath, the sons of disobedience. The sons of disobedience, does everyone see this? He just walks out the works of the flesh, and they're walking in the sins and trespasses. Amen? Now, I want you all to see, if that's a son of disobedience, well, let me just go one other place with you. I want you to turn over to chapter 4, verse 22. And we see what Jesus said right there, verse 22. And in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, that's the old man, which is being corrupted according to the lust of deceit, that's all the works of the flesh, and you're going to be renewed in the Spirit of your mind. You're going to have the mind of Christ instead of the mind of Satan. And you're going to put on the new self, that's the divine nature, the love of God, which is the likeness of God being created in righteousness and holiness. And then we see right there that, well, let me just read it real quickly, that verse 26, be angry, yet do not sin. I can be angry from God's point of view, but I can't be angry from the flesh. When I'm angry from the flesh, I'm angry from the selfish point of view, amen? I can be jealous for somebody with a godly jealousy. I can be jealous for your heart with a godly jealousy, but when I'm jealous for your heart for some motive to please me, I can be an idol in your heart, see, that's sin. Are you following what I'm saying? Okay. And do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity because it's when you walk in any sin, and that's how the powers of darkness get their ground in you, which is what I was telling you a while ago. For that reason, verse 29, you let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth. We know right there that, verse 30, do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God for whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Now, I want you to know when the Spirit of God comes in you, that's a promise and a pledge to you and a down payment to you. He's going to lead you to be perfected in the nature of God. Do you hear me? And see, if you've been reading this another way, you think it's all over when you receive the Spirit and say your words. Well, just wait a minute until I share another scripture. So, therefore, what are we going to do? Since he's going to be free of all the lawless deeds, verse 31, we're going to let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander going to be put away from you along with all malice. You know what you're looking at? All of these works of the flesh right here are gone. They're going to be removed. The Spirit of God is there. That's how you lay down your life, you know, and give the devil an opportunity. You're not going to go into some religious settings and bless God and curse your neighbor and let the demons and get back under trespassing God's law again. Amen? Right? So, let's look at verse 1. Therefore, you're going to be imitators of God. That means you're going to have the nature of God. You're going to be beloved children. And watch very closely, verse 2, and you're going to walk and love how? I can't hear you. Are we going to walk in those same love that Christ loved us? All right, now let's stop just a minute right here and say, well, I've already heard those scriptures. I already know those. Well, why aren't you walking in it then? Seems like we need to stay there until we walk in it, right? Huh? Or are we just here for revelation? Do we need more revelation or do we need to get free? Huh? So, we let all that bitterness and wrath and slander and slander be put away from us so we can walk and love as Christ loved us. Verse 3, do not let impurity. You know what impurity is? Look at me right up here. Any of the works of the flesh is impurity. It's an impure heart. It's the opposite of a pure heart. Show a pure heart. A pure heart there is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, goodness, gentleness, meekness, temperance, and faith. All right, then we've got right there an impure heart. Here is an impure one. It walks in any nature and character of Satan. The Word of God and the Spirit of God removes all that. Amen? It removes it all. And so, well, verse 3 again. But do not let immorality, impurity, greed even be named among you as proper among us saints. Verse 5. For this you can know with certainty that no immoral man or what? No what? No impure person. You know what it's fitting to say? An impure man is not going to enter the kingdom of Christ unless you don't like that scripture. Look at me. I'm telling you, we're waking up from a nightmare. If some of these things you haven't even heard of, you need to start adjusting them because we're just going to be teaching about it all week. Right there. Now let me read what that says. For this you can know with certainty that no immoral man, impure man, covetous man who is an adulterer, who practices these things and does not overcome them, has an inheritance in what? Kingdom of Christ. That's how Hebrews 12, 14 got in there. You're going to pursue peace with all men. You know how you pursue peace with all men? You have nothing between you and man. And the sanctification which is purifying your heart, walking in holiness and righteousness without which no one is what? Going to see the Lord. Matthew 5 said, Blessed are the pure in heart for they are what? Opposite of pure heart is impure heart. Now when I say we're waking up from a nightmare and you're not adjusted to any kind of talk or teaching like this and everything, I want you to just put it up there on the shelf right there and I want you to deal with this in a balanced context of the word of God and you're fixing to see what salvation is. See, we've had a vague conception. Everybody's saying they're saved. Saved from what? You're saved from the wrath of God's law. And God's law commands us to walk in love and Jesus came and perfected us in that love and that's how he saved us. Amen? It's real simple. So none of them have an inheritance in the kingdom of God. Let no one what? Deceive you. Deceive. Let me stop right there with that verse right there. I want to go back up there to Ephesians 4 verse 30. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God for whom you were what? Sealed for the day of redemption. Now if you're sealed from the day of redemption at where you can go back and practice those things, if that means that you're sealed, right then when you say your words then, how did this other verse get in below there that says, verse 5, For this you can know with certainty that no immoral, impure, covetous man who isn't a daughter has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ. That's why salvation is a walk. Now you just receive it that way so you won't be at ease in Zion and go to hell. We've been in a great fall in the way and there's nothing any one of us can boast in except the grace of God to start learning some truth and see the direction. Amen? And I'll tell you this is going to be fun too. Loving one another for a change. Instead of eating off a tree of death. Life, have life. It's going to change your life. Every hour you sit here your life is going to change. You know why? Because you're going to be repenting in your heart and when you repent, it's going on the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and it goes down to the blood of Jesus. God no longer sees your law breaking. It'll stop coming off of you. And then when you get through here you're not going to retire. You're going to keep walking in it. Amen? Now verse 6, Let no one deceive you with empty words. But because of these things, the wrath of God comes on who? Well now let me see something right there. The sons of disobedience walk after the lust of flesh, the lust of the eye and the boastful pride of life. See now that's what, look at me folks. I want everybody to look at me right here. The wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience. That's exactly where people who come to bless God and turn around to continue to curse their neighbor. What did we see a while ago? You're not a doer of God's law. And we've always said you're dead in your trespasses and sins when you're walking that way. You're dead. He said I'm the one that can save and destroy. You're not a doer of the law. You're wanting to be the judge. You continue to walk in these things. You want to be ruler. God said I'd like to be the judge. You say no. Let the clay be the judge. I judge them. I judge them with unforgiveness and resentment and anger. I don't have to lose the will of God here on earth as it's done in heaven here. Because I help God out. So you don't have a repentant heart. And the same thing happens to you sitting in your religious settings. It's happening to the folks right now in the pool room. I'm going to show you scripture later on in Deuteronomy 7. Exodus 23 and all over right there. When he sacrificed bull, goats, and heifers he removed all diseases. Romans 8.6. We have a better covenant and a better ministry and a better promise today. And we get zero of the rim off of it. Crumb of bread every once in a while. Because we're not walking in a covenant. Walk in such compromise today that people can walk among 400 and something different teachings and doctrines and denominations of this earth and act like everything is alright. Because it's a time of sleep and a trumpet's blowing. Say wake up. You better get ready to meet the bridegroom. You better become a beaded child. You better become holy. Because Jesus is coming for a holy bride. Now let's just see that right there in the word. Right there it says it. Look at there. Therefore verse 14. For this reason it says what? Awake who? Sleeper and arise from the what? Dead. You're walking in this stuff. You're going to rise from the dead. You better repent and get away from it. Verse 15. Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men who are the foolish virgins, but as what? You're going to walk as wise virgins. Verse 17. So then do not be a foolish virgin, but what are you going to do? You're going to understand what? You know what the will of the Lord is? Look at me. The will of God is for you to love the Lord with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. The will of Jesus is for you to love one another as he loved you. He's the example. This is the will of God if you ever wonder what it is, the divine nature of God. Can I tell you something folks? A holy person keeps the commandments of God. Now I want you to realize something. So you won't, you won't, you won't think I'm teaching. We've been programmed. When you start talking about beatings, you're talking about legalism. Honey, do you want me to tell you what legalism is? Legalism is trying to get into heaven without being holy and blameless. It's taking partial truth out of the Bible and walking after it. And trying to become holy, being perfected after the flesh. Amen? Now let me just stop right here. Well, let's, this is exactly, let's just stop and deal with something right here. Let me go over there to verse 27 first. Ephesians 5, 27. Jesus is going to present to him the church in what? All her glory. She'll have no spot or rink or any such thing. But what is she going to be? Holy and what? Holy and blameless. You know what blameless and holy would be? It'd be having the nature and character of Jesus or nature and character of God blameless. You're not walking in lawlessness anymore. You know what lawlessness is? Right there you're looking at it, right here on the screen. That's what lawlessness is. Jesus came to remove that. That's the reason he said if you have immorality, impurity, covetous or adultery, you're not going to inherit the kingdom of Christ. The inheritance, the land that we're headed for, that James was talking about, is just like Abraham. The inheritance is a land of rest and peace. You know what that land of rest and peace is? Where you rest from all your enemies. Right there. When you get the Canaanite nations off of this land right here, do you see what I mean? They attach themselves to these sins. This is what we go in to possess, the land. We possess the land, but the Spirit and the Word are in our love relationship with Jesus. We don't, you know, I'm going to be holy sort of thing. It's relaxed. It's all grace. And he's going to lead us in there. And because of our love affair with the Lord Jesus Christ, he's going to be removing it. And because we're walking in peace, when you're walking in peace, you're fulfilling God's law. When you lose your peace, can I tell you what you've done? You broke the law. So you can always know how you and the law are doing. And when you break the law, they show up. And a man that loathes the Lord Jesus Christ is not going to practice sin. When you lose your peace, you're going to repent and you're going to get before God. And you're going to get the blood over those sins. And then when the blood comes over those sins, God no longer sees you as a lawbreaker. And bang! And then you're no longer a lawbreaker. The powers of darkness come back off you. You're back in peace again. And you have confidence in your heart. Your conscience is not defiled. And you don't have to visit every Tuesday and Thursday to be right with God. You don't have to do a whole bunch of church jobs and all this thing. And you don't have to say, I doubt my salvation and all these kind of things that's happening to us. You don't have to go get poor people to vote on whether you're saved or not. You get all your prayers answered. You know what? When you come to receive Jesus Christ the Lord, you adopt His as a son. You're going to endure it to the end. And if you don't endure it to the end, it's the fact you found something you love more than God. That's what falling away from the faith is. And when you love something more than God, this word no longer works in you. And when this word no longer works in you, you shrink back in the Word of God. And when you shrink back in the Word of God, you shrink back to destruction because you're loving another thing more than God. You're having other gods and other idols. How many see that? I want to remind you of something. The first church was one heart, one mind, one purpose. I guarantee you folks that I could go all over this building, we'd sit down, there's differences all over the place between us. If I do about three back flips off of this thing in a minute, it's because I'm excited. But I'm going to tell you what, this Bible is going to lead you and I to become one heart and one mind. Because when you love the Lord with all your heart and I love the Lord with all my heart, we're going to look and see what the whole Bible says, not part of it. And when you look to receive or submit to the whole counsel of God, and I read this Bible, when we read the Bible, you agree and I agree with everything in that Bible. It removes all selfish motives. It removes everything except the Lord Jesus Christ down the middle, not some man. And then you and I become one heart and one mind and a unity of the faith and Jesus can do whatever He wants to with us. We fit together, we build up this temple of living stones that make up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God. That's a temple that's being built in the last days while people are looking at it. We're living stones. And the true apostles, the prophets, pastors, teachers, they build up this body to the unity of the faith until they come to the same measure and stature that was in the fullness of Christ. That's maturity. That's complete. That's perfect. And that's what Jesus was trying to tell the rich young ruler. Glory be to God that's good. And it's all a rest and it's all peace. I want to tell you what, when you don't have rest and peace, you ain't walking in it. That's how you always know. Because when you don't have peace, the demons attack you and demons can't attack you unless you break God's law of love. And then we go to the perfect sacrifice, the Lord Jesus Christ. When we don't have peace, we don't know what happened to us. Some days you'll wait there maybe for 4 hours, 3 hours, 1 hour, 15 minutes. You might wait for 4 days and 5 days. He'll let them things just beat on your head. You're going to learn that that ain't a good way to walk. And then you're going to be riding down the expressway as I've explained to others. And then all of a sudden the Spirit of God is going to show you that sin that you didn't repent of that has that hell all over you. And I advise people, I say, buddy, when He shows that to you, pull off the side of the road and get out of traffic because when you repent of that thing, you're about to get in high praise. Amen. He's going to encourage you. Now this is a thing God sees. He's not there. You're going to make a mistake. Now a Christian is when a righteous man falls down 7 times and get back up again. Amen. If you fall down, don't let heaviness and self-condemnation and everything get on you. Repent. Get back up again. That's what I spent most of my life doing, getting up. We're going to get back up again. And we're going to keep going like that. And I'm going to tell you something right now. I'm walking in more peace now than I ever have. And I'll tell you what's the truth, brother. I'll tell you what. When you walk in it a little while, brother, and you get around certain settings and you get around certain conversations and everything and that stuff starts getting on you, brother, then bang, all of a sudden fear comes on you. Ooh, doggies, I don't want to touch that. And that's what the fear of God is. Man, I don't want to lose what I've got. Amen.
