How to Walk the Gospel Out #5
Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Thank you, dear brother. All right. Praise God. Thank you. Praise God. One of the first things my wife and I learned when we moved to Fort Worth area, if you wanted to eat at seven, you invite everybody to come at six. Well, is everyone skipping like a calf now? Well, that's just great, then. Well, the spirit of the Lord God is upon us. The Lord has anointed you and I to bring good news to the afflicted. He sent us to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners, to proclaim the fable year of our Lord and the day of vengeance of our God, and comfort those who mourn. We'll be called priests of the Lord. We're going to be spoken of as ministers of God, because we're the offspring of the Lord is blessed. He's clothed us with garments of salvation. He's wrapped us with a robe of righteousness like a bridegroom. He decks himself with a garland and a bride who adorns herself with her jewels. He keeps us from stumbling. He makes us stand in the glory of his presence, holy, blameless, without reproach. Holy and blameless, without reproach, with great joy. The only wife of God is our Savior, who is Jesus Christ our Lord. To him be glory and majesty, dominion and authority before all time, now and forever. Glory be to God forevermore. You see that? Praise God. Hallelujah to the Lord. Praise the name of Jesus. Praise God forevermore. Hallelujah to your name, Lord Jesus. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah to you, Lord. Bless the name of the Lord. Praise the name of Jesus. Praise you, Lord. Hallelujah to your name. Praise the name of Jesus. Bless the name of the Lord. Praise the name of Jesus. Glory be to God. Hallelujah to you, Lord. Praise the name of Jesus. Praise you, Lord. Hallelujah to your name. Praise God. Hallelujah to you, Lord. That's good. Lord Jesus, we just love you and we just bless you and we just receive your word now. And, Lord, we just receive your presence. And, Lord, we think that you dwell in the midst of your praises. Lord, we just think that we know you'll never forsake us, never leave us. And we just thank you that faithful as you have called us and you're going to bring it all to pass in Jesus' name. Lord, we just submit to the Lordship of Jesus. We love you with all our heart. And we choose our lovers and neighbors as ourselves. We come to be conformed to the image of Jesus, to have a divine nature, to walk and talk and walk in a manner worthy of you, to please you and bear fruit to please you as we increase in the knowledge of your word. We thank you that your word performs its work in us. And we just receive the word implanted, Lord. We come to have our minds renewed. And we renounce the ways of the flesh, the world, and the devil. And now, Lord Jesus, we just receive your presence. We've just received the word and the blood of bind up every word. We bless our enemies in Jesus' name. Praise God forevermore. We bless all our enemies in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. Praise the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Bless our enemies. Lord Jesus, now we just, let's just say, let's just agree with now in Jesus' name. I now renounce all shame. All worthiness. Unworthiness. All sexual lust. I renounce. All the works of embarrassment. Self hate. Self accusation. Self condemnation. All grief. Sorrow. Sadness. Impatience. Agitation. Frustration. Covetousness. Greed. All stealing. Procrastination. Compromise. Forgetfulness. Indifference. I release these works right now in the name of Jesus. Praise God forevermore. Hallelujah to the name of Jesus. Praise the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Praise the name of Jesus. Lord Jesus, I thank you, disarm the rulers and authorities and every word, curse, and spell over this meeting right here is removed. All the works of darkness that's been assigned against this meeting are removed from this building. We bring all the rulers under our authority and all the works of darkness. No oppression, heaviness, tiredness, fatigue, exhaustion, weariness is going to work in this building. In Jesus' name, it's removed right now in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. All religious spirits and all religious deceptions. All doubt, unbelief, compromise, complacency is removed here in the name of Jesus. All confusion, mind-binding, mind-wandering is removed. We receive liberty and freedom. Lord, we just receive liberty and freedom right now for you. Jesus, you are our liberty and freedom we receive. Everybody is a liberty and freedom right now in the name of Jesus. Everybody is free right now in Jesus. Hallelujah to the name of the Lord. Praise the name of Jesus. Praise the name of Jesus. Hallelujah. And now, Lord, I speak your blessings, peace, grace, love, healing, and liberty over this meeting, over each person right here in the name of Jesus. Praise God. Could you hug somebody again, please, before you sit down? Folks, I just want to say a few things for us, sir. In the midst of the kind of message and the part that the Lord has given me, I just very much appreciate friends. I appreciate people with me. I appreciate running into people that tell me how the Lord has laid it on their heart to pray for us. I want you to know that I'm just really grateful to you for that. And I know you love the Lord. You're not going to sit here a couple of hours every night and be constituted, persevere and endure if you're not seeking the Lord. I mean, that's a good trial when you say the word. I want to tell you, there's no way to tell you how much I appreciate it. We go into places, I'm telling you what, and I know others do, but it's just like running into a wall. If they're just people, you know, we could call on a lot of times just to pray and things. And if you just pick up a schedule out there and just pray. I'm going to tell you what. This church right here is, and I don't go into places and always say this. I'm telling you, they have been the warmest. We've been the most well-received. I'm not seeing more Jesus anywhere than I have since I've come to this place right here, and I'm just thankful about that. And quite frankly, I haven't seen any pastor like this one either. There's a group of people here in the full gospel chapter. The chapter there has just really helped. This has meant a lot to us. We just needed a little word every once in a while. And I just want you to know that we're grateful to all of them too. They have just really loved us and really encouraged us more than they even realized. And I'm grateful and thankful to them. And I need to say this because in a lot of places you go, you don't have anyone you can brag about, you know. So when you get around somebody that you kind of love and kind of encourage you a little bit, I just like to say it, and I just really want to say it. Listen, there's two or three things that I want to do tonight. I like to jump right in the middle of the word, but I need to take care of some things tonight. I left the impression that we're going to be at the Dallas Convention Center, and I said the 7th through the 9th, but it's meant to be instead of July, that's August, the 7th through the 9th. And so that will be three days all day long, can till can't. So if you would, I'll tell you where we can get in a situation where we can go straight on. Can you know where we're building up to these last few nights? And then, of course, we have to go home and, you know, work the next day and so forth. But can you imagine an atmosphere where we can just keep going, right? And so that's what we experience in those three days. And I'm going to tell you, a day will pass just like that. If the Lord knows it, it'll pass like that, all right? We don't charge any kind of a... We used to charge $35 and $40 until we read the Bible again. He said there was no charge for the gospel. You know, and that's a pretty good thing. You had all the expenses and everything there taken care of, but we don't charge. We go ahead and we pay for that, and we trust the Lord in the offering to take care of these things. And he always does. So another thing is, I want to mention, people are asking a lot about the tapes. Walter, you got where you scream at me? We had a video, and if you ever want to get someone and just have a kind of a home trip, there's over 20 hours of this. And there are four of them. With... I'm real professional about this. You ever see a monkey with a football? I knew it was going to pull something on me. You saw how I opened it. But anyway, taped the tapes in, and there are three albums of these here. Now, Walter here had this. He said, now, Milt, they need to see that on video. And so we had our television, and he had a VCR, and he had it out there. And so Walter, when we're around here locally, you know, he sets up a VCR so people can... He likes to see people get to work. He likes to see their life change. And someone walked in and carried off this VCR there a couple of days ago. And since they found out here, they just have to lock down. You can't close a church up, you know. And they have to nail down everything they got around here to keep people from walking off with it. So we bless them, because I'll tell you what, they made some more of them. Now, you knew I was going to unload on you sometime, didn't you? We got more tapes than a show dog can jump over. And I'll tell you, they can hit you. There's the law in holding us. Now, the reason I want to share this with you, because you get out there, and everybody has to ask questions and everything. I'm going to do this one time, and then we're going to get in the Word, okay? But this is about the fear of fire, the vengeance of God, shrinking back, how you shrink back to destruction. You shrink back from the Word of God. See, there's volumes we're not going to get together this week, you know, in the Word and so forth. And so there's a lot of things, folks, that not only, I mean, in this meeting, you miss a lot of things, you know, and we're covering this much. You can't get it all. That's the reason. Hadn't we had some good nights this week? We're making tapes of this, and we're going to have those available at the very end of the meeting here, so you can sign up. There will be 10 tapes, and what we try to do is to get about $3 a piece for them if you can afford them. And so if you want to sign up for those things, go ahead, and just when it's over, they'll just hand you your tapes. You walk out. You won't even have to wait or anything like that. So in a way, you see, this is a good way, just like if the Lord's blessed you in this Word, if anointing's on a meeting when you get in the Word, well, then the anointing will be there, and you can get to see some other life-changing places and put them in people's hands. You see what I mean? Some of the things that you've heard and so forth. Well, anyway, there's sanctification, how you're close to being cursed, the kingdom of flesh. There's the mark of God and the mark of the beast, and there are two albums of these, and they're really, really, really good. I'm not going to go through all of these right here. I'm going to just find out where these, these Pure Heart. I'll find one I like. But they have a lot of these small albums here. There's the mark of God and the mark of the beast, and walking love and God's judgment, divine nature. Some of you would like to know about healing and love and peace or walking destruction. Now, here's a real good album. How God's love is, the God kind of love is perfected in you, and also how we make covenant with God, healing in the old covenant. Now, this, this, how we make covenant. Now, someone was asking me about some particular people who hadn't been in the Word very much, and they don't like it too strong, and they want to just kind of bring them out a little bit there. That's about the mildest thing we have going right here, so. A message, 16 tapes, a message of the church. What is doctrines of demons? The harlot church, the falling away of the church, and what is the sin and the death, the heart and heart. Is there such thing as a carnal Christian? Oh, my. Keeping the covenant. And here's Babylon, the church of the last days. We have a few more out there. This is the harlot church of the last days and how she's destroyed. Okay, now. I want to pray again. You know I don't like that. But you need to share it. I don't like to take up my time there. Lord, in Jesus' name now, all distraction right now, we remove right now. In Jesus' name. And Lord, we just receive your grace, word, and presence in Jesus' name. And Father, we just thank you that we spread the word in the name of Jesus. Praise God. Boy, Lord, we just sure do love you. Praise God. Folks, last night we were looking at what in 1 Peter, how the divine nature is perfected in us. And you know we finally got over there in 1 Peter 5, verse 8. I'm going to do this quickly. And we saw how the powers of darkness tempt us. And when they tempt us in anger and things like that, then our flesh wants to agree with them. And we suffer when we deny these. So we put up the shield of faith. We suffer in the flesh. But we cease from sin. And then we know after we've suffered for a little while, we prove that we love the Lord with all our heart. We might as well just start over there. We look in verse 10. 1 Peter 5, verse 10. And after you've suffered for a little while, the God of all grace. Now, how do we suffer for a little while? Now, let's just remember this. The pressures and the trials come upon us. I'll tell you what, you can turn that on. Just leave it on, brother. The pressures and the trials come on us. Now, if we got a little... We was looking in the parable of the Word. We were sharing in the office today about the parable of the Word. That's all the different hearts. Only one of those hearts bears fruit. The others fall away. And the persecution and affliction come on them. And cause them to back off the Word of God. The cause of the Word. And we have the words of the world to seek from those who are rich in desires for other things. This is the things that the powers of darkness bring against you. To back you off the Word. If you got a little bit of reputation that you want to uphold. You got to look good to men. You won't stand in these trials. I'm going to tell you something, folks. If you wanted to look good to men, you won't stand in the trials. And that's what the powers of darkness play on. They play on things like pride and your reputation. And different things like that to get you to turn away from God. Because you'll love the approval of man more than you will the approval of God. And you won't stand in them. And if you don't stand in them, the flesh can't be put to death. Right? So after you suffered a while. The God of all grace. Who called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus. Here's what he's going to do. He's going to perfect you. He's going to confirm you. Strengthen you. And establish you. He's established you as you walk in his covenant right here. Now, we see in 2 Peter 1 verse 4, just below there. And by these he has granted us. We saw in 1 Peter how we put to death the deeds of the flesh. And how we overcome the flesh and the devil. And by these he has granted to us his precious and magnificent promises. In order that by them, these promises, the word of God. That we now become partakers of what? Divine nature. Now, listen folks. Before we walked with the nature of the devil. This is it right here. Look up here. And then the process of the word and the spirit being led by the Lord Jesus Christ. He has us to die to each one of these. And we die by standing there in the trials. And say, God. I'm hurting. But I prove to you that I love you. More than I do pride. I love you more than I do this unforgiveness. I'm not going to have unforgiveness toward that person. Because I love you more than I do unforgiveness. I love you more than I do revenge. And I'm going to stand right here. I'm not going to hit back. They revile me. I'm not going to revile back. And you stand right there. And then the Lord begins removing things. Well, you suffer much. And the things start leaving you. Because when the powers of darkness can't minister to you. They become weak. And they go. Amen. And that's what makes them weak. And the only thing. Now, this is very important that you remember this. That it's important. I hope you folks are working on this. You've got to really get with God. And decide with all your heart that you love the Lord. With all your heart. In other words, you love him more than family. You love him more than you do any part of the selfish natured flesh. You love the Lord more than the world of things in the world. You're not building treasures. Except your mind is set totally on things above. Not things below. And anything that gets in your possession right here. When you start building treasures right here. And building a big nest around yourself. You're operating in greed. That's the reason Jesus told a rich young ruler. After he had told him that you've got to love your neighbors as yourselves. The very next verse is right there. He, you know, the rich young ruler said, well, what is it? He said, if you want. Jesus told him, if you want to be complete. In the image of Jesus. In the image and nature of God. He said, go sell all your possessions. And the rich young ruler, you know, he turned away from Jesus. And lowered his head and sadly walked away. Why? Because God saw that he loved greed more than he did him. More than he did the Lord. So the Lord said, sell your possessions then follow me. Because your possessions and your treasures here on earth have got your heart. Now, there's a lot to say about that, folks. You're a channel. And when you become anything more than a channel. You're not really loving your brother as yourself. And we looked and saw over in James 5. How curses, it's going to rot. The rottenness and the moth is on it right there. There's a curse all over it. When you hoard. And see, this is the body of Christ. You know, an axe. Did they give to, was anyone in need in the church of Jesus Christ? In the church of axe, were they? None. No one was in need. Because they knew coming in. They didn't have to have names around anything. Because they knew coming in, you love your neighbors as yourself. That's it. Amen. You don't live for yourself anymore. You don't live for selfishness. You don't live for yourself anymore. And I'll tell you what. When we start learning and start walking this part of the Bible. We don't have to take time up for an offering. And just put something in the back back there. Or put it up here. Or somewhere like that. And you don't have to. You know, you just don't have to take time for these things. Because people are going to know what to do. Because they're going to hear God. I started out in these meetings. We used to put a basket up front up here and everything. And I'm telling you what. People got their lives changed for a hundred. You couldn't even pay the light bill. And you know, finally, I had to change. I had to decide. You know, this went on for a long, long time and months. The Lord blessed the meetings all over the place. But see, we haven't learned to be a being of the Lord. We should never give until the Lord shows us to give. And we should do what he shows us. Because he directs us and shows us what to do. And when we do that, everything is taken care of. There's no problem. Right? So we have a divine nature. And now let's look at that verse 5. For now this very reason also applying all diligence. And then we see the faith. Now here is the fruit of being perfected in the divine nature of God. We having escaped the corruption that's in the world by lust. And there comes diligence. There is faith. Then there comes moral excellence. There is knowledge. There is self-control in verse 8. And perseverance in godliness. And then in verse 7, there is brotherly kindness. And there is love, verse 8. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now watch verse 9. For he who lacks these qualities is what? Blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins. Now let me just give you an example of that. Without actually turning over in James 3, we know when you speak blessings and curses, we saw that that wisdom doesn't come from above, but it's worldly, fleshly, and demonic. Is that correct? Okay. Now James 4.4 plainly calls this, this is an adulteress, a double-minded adulteress. Well, when we looked over in 2 Timothy 3, now I want you to hold your place right there in 2 Peter 1.9 if you look at these. In 2 Timothy 3, I'm just going to run some of these things by. They had a form of godliness also, and they also spoke blessings and curses because they were gossips, they were unloving, they were without self-control. See, it's just exactly what we've been reading there, the opposite of it. They were revilers. When they were attacked, they reviled back. They were boastful in pride. They were lovers of flesh, lovers of self, lovers of money. They opposed the truth, and they're always learning they were able to come to knowledge of truth. And you know why? Because when you have a form of godliness, you're gathered around something besides Jesus and the Word of God. Are you hearing what I'm saying? You remember this, don't you, from last night? Okay. Well, I better put it up here. I don't want to forget it. So, now, if you look back in 1 Timothy 6, you're still holding on to 2 Peter 1. 1 Timothy 6, we see something right here. If anyone, verse 3, 1 Timothy 6, verse 3, if anyone advocates a different doctrine, it's different from this gospel, and doesn't agree with the gospel, which is a sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with this gospel, a doctrine which conforms us to godliness. How are we conformed to godliness? You're conformed to the image of Jesus with the divine nature of God. Listen, if anyone comes along with a doctrine, a different, they preach it, advocate it, or teach it, this is what he's talking about. If that doctrine leads you out of the flesh, it doesn't lead you to be conformed to godliness, here's what it says about them. Verse 4, They're conceited. They understand nothing. Does that sound like ever learning, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth? Now, are you seeing why people can never come to the knowledge of the truth? See, when a doctrine which uses only part of the Word of God that does not conform you to godliness, and uses only part of the Word, gets your heart, you can never go on to learn the other parts of God's Word. Are you hearing what I'm saying? That's why you have no understanding, and you're ever learning, and you're never able to come to the knowledge of the truth as long as your heart's tied to a doctrine that doesn't conform you to godliness. Now, do you see that? Hold up your hand, not your doctrine. Okay. All right. So they understand nothing. So if anyone's got a doctrine, what are they going to do? They're going to be... Look. They're going to be offended by other parts of the Word, right? They're going to be offended. That's how Jesus becomes a stumbling stone. So when they become offended, what do they got to do? They got attacked. Because the Word attacks fleshly kingdoms, right? It tears down kingdoms of flesh, and so they attack. What do they got to attack back with? Controversial questions. This is how they attack the gospel. Because when you deal with some part of the Word that's not in their particular doctrine, they have controversial questions to protect them. And then they'll reject truth without even examining it. Folks, for instance, if you say once saved, always saved, a person comes up and he makes his commitment right there, and he can go down. He never has to be led by the Spirit of God. He doesn't have to be conformed to the image of Jesus. He's already agreed that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died on the cross. How do you think falling away got in the Bible? Can I tell you what the Greek is for falling away? Falling away. That's how falling away got in the Bible. You can fall away, but you give somebody a false security. And I mean, I'm serious about this, folks. I come out of a denomination that taught that, and I don't have any access to the ground. When you see something that's the devil, say, that's the devil. Would you like to have a scripture for that? Yes, we've been... That's what we're talking about today, the falling away. John 15 is all about continuing in the Word so you can love one another. Jesus loved you. And you have to lay down your life. Who's going to lay down their life if it's not led by the Spirit of God? He believes all sickness is sin. All right, can you just hear him? He believes in sinless perfection. So you reject truth without even examining it. He'll put you under the law. He doesn't understand grace. So you can walk and talk like the devil. All you have to do is come here and say your words, and then you and Satan can go out there and get them, boy. Just quit smoking, drinking, chewing, and cussing. That's the main thing. Stay away from the pool room. Verse 4. The four Megaliths, here they are. They're conceited. They understand nothing. I guess I'm going to have to teach about the falling away tomorrow. They're conceited. They understand nothing. But he has a morbid interest in controversial questions. And they want to have disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, and evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind. They are deprived of the truth, ever learning, never able to come to knowledge truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. In other words, that godliness is a mean for reputation. You can walk in pride. You can walk in jealousy. You can walk in anything. The works of the flesh, and it's okay. Godliness is a means of gain. You can walk out of the world, and you can come in and build a name and reputation for yourself just like it was out there in the world. Take the things of God. Take God's people, God's money, God's word, skip and pick and choose through there, and build yourself a reputation. Get to be kings and lords over God's heritage. Can I tell you anything that's coming down? Can I tell you that people... Let me tell you something, folks. People are tied to a form of godliness that's getting their brains beat out right now. And many precious pastors... I love these people, but I despise these things. I just... God loves those that love him. And I want to put me a hook where I can carry that thing around with me. A lot of pastors, they're hurting bad. Their family's hurting. Their children are hurting. They're hurting, and they see their people are hurting all over the place, and they won't answer. You know who needs the most help right now is pastors. They're needing more help than anybody. And I'll tell you what, if you have something that'll really help them, well, they want to know it. They need help because they're getting shook more than anyone right now. But see, they can never receive help until they renounce their hearts being tied to doctrines that do not conform you to God. There's no way to help them. They got the wrong headquarters. Headquarters doesn't help them. Amen? Now, so there's a form of godliness. So how do you think? Did you see you speak blessings and curses? And then when the doctrine gets your heart, you don't have to be led by the Spirit. Let me just show you how this works. Back up to Mark 7 just a minute. Mark 7. Now, I want you to look up here just a minute. Is this supposed to be put to death when you follow Jesus? Isn't that what the gospel is? It conforms you to godliness? If you got a doctrine that doesn't conform you to godliness, you know what you can do? You can speak slander, deceit, pride. You can do all these things. Let me show you an example of it. Look there in verse 20. And he was saying, Mark 7, verse 20, he was saying, That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man. For that which comes out of your mouth, look right here, comes from your heart. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil faults, fornication, thefts, murders, adulteries. Look here. Deeds of covenant coming out of their mouth and from their heart. Wickedness as well as deceit. There's sensuality. Look coming out of their mouth right there. There's envy coming out of their mouth. There's slander coming out of their mouth. There's pride coming out. There's foolishness coming out. All these evil things proceed from within. That's out of the heart. And it defiles a man. Do you see that? Is that man following Jesus? Do you know why people think they can walk like that? Because they have doctrines. They attach their hearts to doctrines that do not conform you to godliness. And then they turn their ears away from the truth. They speak blessings and curses. And that's what James called the adulteress. Do you see that? Amen? That's exactly what he said there in the same chapter. Look in verse 6. And he rightly said to them, rightly did I say, I prophesy you hypocrites, it is written, this people they are honoring me with their lips. Blessing the Lord. But their heart is far from me. I don't have their heart because their speaking is deceit, and envy, and pride, and slander. Jesus said, I don't have their heart. In vain do they worship me. Is that in your Bible? One more time. In vain. It's a waste of time. In vain are they worshiping me. Why? Their teaching has doctrines, the opinions, and precepts of men. Some people come to the Bible. They pull out some things. What do you do? Look here. Number one. You do this, this, this, this. And that's the way to heaven. In the meantime, you can speak out of your mouth. You don't have to be led by the spirit of God. You can speak deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these things, all these things up here can come at you. That's a form of godliness. How many of you see that? Hold up your hand. All right. Then the doctrine gets your heart. Folks, is this plain? In vain are they worshiping me. That's the great falling away you're sitting in today. All right. Neglecting. So their teaching has doctrines, opinions of men rather than the word of God. So they neglect the commandment of God. What does the commandment of God say? You're going to love the Lord with all your heart and your neighbors as yourself. Does that sound like they're doing that? Huh? No, they're not loving the Lord with all their heart and their neighbors as themselves when they have all this stuff coming out of their mouth. Say, neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to tradition. There you are. Hold to your doctrine. Doctrine, have your heart. Verse 9. He is also saying to them, you nicely set aside the commandment of God. There it goes again. You set aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition because the tradition has your heart. Look here. Here's your tradition. Look here. One, two, three, four, five, six. And then be offended if anyone else comes to any other part of the Bible. That's how Jesus becomes a son of God. That's how the Pharisees went to hell. That's everyone going to hell today that has a form of godliness and does not conform to the image of Jesus. A form of godliness is a broad road to hell. By the way, there is a hell. So then, you set aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition. You defend it. In verse 13, thus you invalidate the word of God be a tradition. You make the word of God of no effect. And these things, which you've handed down and you do many things such as this. Now, is that real plain? Huh? So then, look here. When you obey the doctrine, your heart's tied to it. Can I tell you under a curse, did it already show that? I tell you what, you just get broke and get loose from it and see what all comes off of you. You're still under guilt and condemnation, intimidation and fear all the time. Besides having a curse of slander and gossip and everything else, can't keep from talking about people because that's a curse that comes with them. Now, we're back over there in 2 Peter 1, verse 9. Now, we don't have, if we're talking about you escape the corruptions in the world but lush. You're not escaping the corruption that's in the world but lush. The world is moved into the church. Man said, I looked for the world and found it in the church and I looked for the church and I found it in the world. That's the fallen away. Now, we see that divine nature and we see there how you're perfected in love there. And then when we get to verse 9, once again, we see this. He who lacks these qualities is what? He's blind. Listen, folks. What's the parable of the word talking about? He who has ears to hear, let him hear. He who have eyes to see, let him see. How many people, have you ever tried to sit down with the word of God and laid them some other part of the word right there? And their eyes are covered and they can't see. Can't even hear. They won't even receive it when you... They cannot be led out of spiritual... Listen to this. They cannot be led out of spiritual darkness with the word of God. When you... He who is of God hears the words of God. For this reason, you're not a God because you don't hear God. When you can't hear God, you're not a God. Quit calling everybody Christians that walk in some of these buildings. That's a lie. Let the word of God separate us. Let's want God's approval more than we do. Folks, and some nice folks, the Pharisees didn't want to get didn't want to get kicked out of their thing, the synagogue, because they loved the approval of people rather than the approval of God. Now, if you think I'm doing this with any bitterness or anger or anything, I don't have anything but God. I've already worked through that, folks. I don't have the axes to grind. I'm telling you what's in your Bible right there. You've got it right in your lap. I'm showing it to you. See, this thing where you can't talk about the devil and you have to go hide and get under condemnation because you talk about the devil in the middle of things? Boy, this is a new day. You expose the devil. Instead of being afraid of men, these days are gone. If you're God, if you're God, you're not going to be afraid of nothing else. I'm telling you, this remnant going to come together, it's going to be something else. But they're blind. They can't see. So, when you're already rich and increased in goods, you don't have to go through the fire, do you? You don't have to. Well, let's look at Laodicea. Turn to Revelation 3 with me. Revelation 3. Now, I want you to look in verse 15. He's talking about Laodicea. He said, I know your deeds. Look here. This is the kind of deeds Laodicea has right here. This works of the flesh. Are you hearing me? He said, I know your deeds that you're neither cold nor hot. I would that you were cold or hot. Of course, you're not cold or hot. I'm going to spit you out of my mouth. Now, look here, verse 17. Now, this... I want you... Everybody look at me here just a minute. What I'm fixing to read to you, if you've been involved in a form of godliness, as I've been involved in a form of godliness, this is the word today. I'm going to tell you, if I can get to it, I want to tell you that everyone has been asleep. The wise and the foolish alike. And God today is opening up his word. A lamp is shining in Jerusalem and a trumpet is blowing right now. And the wise who can be led by the spirit of God are going to come to the light. Those are the wise virgins. Now, those who are led by doctrines that do not conform to godliness can't be led out of spiritual darkness with the word of God. How many see this right now? When a doctrine already has your heart, you cannot be led out of spiritual darkness by the word of God. So, this is what the Lord is saying today. And what he's saying to Laodicea is what he's saying to you and I and everybody else today. And the foolish virgin, that's a false church. They'll not come to light. But later on, if I can get to it tonight to show you, I'll show you they're going to be being destroyed. And they're going to come to the wise virgin and want to get some more. And the door of the ark is closed. And they don't get in. It's too late. It's just like the days of Noah. That's what I want to show you tonight. Now, so here's what he's saying to that harlot church, the adulteress, the double-minded adulteress today in verse 17. Because you say, I am rich. You already arrived. You become wealthy. You don't have need of nothing. And you do not know that you're wretched. You do not know that you're miserable. You do not know that you're poor. You don't know that you're, there's that word, blind. You have no understanding. You're deprived of truth. Never learning, never able to come to knowledge of truth. You don't know that you're naked. You're lost. I advise you to buy for me gold. What is the gold? The divine nature of God said, I'm better tell you, you better wake up and you better come buy for me gold. And how's that gold going to come? You got to be refined by fire. And look at me, folks. Look at me. Somebody not looking. Look here. This has to, the fire removes all this. You first have to love the Lord with all your heart. And then going through the fire, you're going to stand on the word of God and die to all these things right here. Suffer in the flesh and cease from sin. Glory be to God, that's good, isn't it? Now that's what he's telling them. Be refined by fire so you're going to come out with that divine nature. That you may then become what? You already think you're rich with these treasures here on earth and then you will be rich. You'll be rich in heaven. And then you're going to have white garments. And then you're going to clothe yourself in a shame. If you're naked, your lostness may not be revealed. You're going to have the eyes safe to know what your eyes that you may be seeing. Now watch very closely. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline. Now folks, what does that mean? Look at me here, folks. What does that mean? Who he reproves and discipline? Because, see, if you're standing in these trials and you don't pass it and you hit back a slander, unforgiveness, all of a sudden your peace is gone. You know why? The hedge is removed and you're being attacked by the powers of darkness. All right, what does a Christian do? He receives reproof and discipline. You're supposed to walk in peace all the time. And you go over and say, Lord Jesus, what did I do? I love you more than I do anything. Show me what I did. I want to repent and turn from it with all my heart. And the Spirit of God at some point, maybe one hour, maybe 16 hours, maybe 25 hours, or four days, depends on how long he wants to chastise you, is going to show you. He will show you. But you're not going to forget what you went through. When you walk in peace and hell drops on you, you're going to remember it. Amen? And so, then he's going to show it to you and you say, Lord Jesus, I thank you. Now see the reason that the hell dropped on you because you broke God's law. Jesus leads you to be a doer of the law. Amen? Through Jesus. All right, now. And say, Lord Jesus, I thank you that you made a provision for me at Calvary through the blood, through the victory at Calvary, that I can come to you and that I can repent. And Lord, I turn from that sin of slander right now with all my heart. I turn from it and I thank you that this is placed through the blood right now that I'm forgiven. I'm no longer a lawbreaker. Slander. Take off. And so all the stronghold and all the powers of darkness they have to butt out and you got your hedge back and you're back in peace again. Amen? Now that's how you receive discipline and reproof. But, here we are again. If this, a doctrine that does not conform you to godliness has your heart, then when you're attacked by the powers of darkness, you're programmed just like the world out there. Hang in there. Keep a stiff upper lip while you're tore apart. And then the powers of darkness pull stronghold, chain on chain, stronghold, fortress on fortress till these things build up and you're destroyed. Because, look at me. These folks have a false security. They're not led by the spirit of God to be perfected in love. So when you're not led by the spirit of God, you don't receive reproof and discipline. How many see that? If you've already got your false security, you don't receive reproof and discipline. Are you hearing me? So then, if you don't receive reproof and discipline, you can't get back in peace. And the bondage increases, increases, increases, increases until you're destroyed and then the sicknesses move in, you're destroyed. You won't receive reproof and discipline when you're not led by the spirit of God. It's, it's, see, you love the Lord with all your heart and then he perfects you in the good and divine nature. Now folks, we're in a fallen way here. When you hear these things, don't try to make it fit in a box. It don't fit. Amen? It doesn't fit. Now you just be a nice fellow and be a lighthouse the rest of your life. You won't, I'm going to tell you, it won't fit. Now, I'm going to stop right there. I want you to hold on to Revelation 3. I want to show you how that works. Now back up just a little bit to Hebrews 12. And I want to show you about the, I want to show you about this being led by the spirit of God to be perfected in love. Hebrews 12. Now, you can't have, can you have a divine nature while these things are in your life, folks? What is this the nature of? Satan, when you have these things in your heart, you're going to speak curses against your neighbor. Everything there is, see this, this is a world, this is what you repented from when you came to Jesus. All right, then you come in and attach your heart to a, to a doctrine that teaches a form of godliness. It doesn't ever change about you. This is why men around a form of godliness have come and, and build reputations. Build names. They love greed and pride. And when you have a form of godliness, you have not learned to discern that you know false teaching by their what. You don't deal with fruit when you got a false security. When you're being led by the spirit of God to be perfected in the divine nature, you start listening for these things. Put on pride there, Walter. Walter? Boy, I tell you, me and old Walter, we just flow, don't we, brother? Look there where he's got it up there. See right, isn't that good? He practiced last night. See that root of pride? When you hear pride come out of somebody's mouth, let me tell you what else is in there. This screen won't hold it. They're making a name for their self. They look down on others, their self-glory, unloving, haughtiness, selfishness, rude. They want to control their self-righteousness, selfish ambition, boasting, their man-pleasure. That all comes off of pride. When you hear pride, now what is, what's pride going to, you might as well have Satan to come and teach you the Bible. Because everything that counts in there, he'll leave out. Oh, you hear what I mean? It's a new day, folks. Wise virgins are waking up. And come the Lord with a whole heart. It's a day where you call the devil a devil. You don't colonize folks, the people of God, unless they're led by the Spirit of God. Amen? You don't oppose and tear down the work of God and then say that's... They just don't understand. They're just the people of God. They will understand. It's understanding when you're led and come to the Lord with a whole heart. This book is written to be understood. Amen? I'll tell you what, folks. This is what causes gnashing of teeth. See, when you start touching people's idols, what's got their hearts, that's where all that gnashing of teeth and all this thing comes from. I'm telling you, God's... You just watch. I'm going to tell you what, homosexual preachers, and adultery, and all these kind of things, the Lord's lifting up the skirt of the whore harlot. They ain't get... They have them four services in the morning and have to leave on Sunday night because he got caught with four different women and things like that. They don't even stay around. God use them some other time, maybe. It's worse when you come for Him. When we don't have the protection of God, folks, it's a mess. You know that, don't you? Okay, now look here. We're going to see how you walk now. Therefore, verse 1, since we have a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside ever encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance. The race is set before us. I've been writing too much of my Bible. We fix our... We fix our eyes on Jesus. He's going to be the perfecter of our faith. Amen? Is that right? Is Jesus the perfecter of our faith? All right, now. So we see there in verse 5, and you've forgotten the former exhortation which is addressed to you, My son, my son, don't regard lightly the discipline of the Lord. When you're reproved by Him, how many know that the Lord reproves you and disciplines you? By letting, removing the head, let the powers of darkness come against you, and then you repent, and then you put it on the blood. You're no longer a lawbreaker, and the powers of darkness have to butt out. You've got another hedge around your back in peace. Is that the way you learn? All right, now. When this happens to you, you're not going to get under a whole lot of condemnation. They just say God's left you. It's too late for you. God don't love you anymore. Everybody gets whipped that way. Are you hearing me? Now, is that reproof and discipline? And so God sits on the throne of grace, and He lets you be chastised, right? I can't hear you. Okay, now. Verse 6. For those whom the Lord loves, He disciplines, and He scourges every son whom He receives. It is for this discipline that you want. Look at me, folks. Everybody look at me right here. You endure. You endure. You stand in it. You suffer in the flesh because you love God more. You want to prove you love God more because you love Him with all your heart. You want to prove. You want to prove to Him. And every time you do this, you get blessed smack out of your socks. Amen? So you want to endure. You have to endure to the end. And then you bear fruit, and your fruit remains. You don't turn back. You know what falling away is? Falling away is when you let your heart go somewhere else, that you love someone more than God, and you quit enduring to overcome the divine nature. You know what the divine nature is? That's the land you possess, of land and peace, of pure heart. Did we see that in 1 Peter? You all have not forgotten since last night what we looked at. Now see, put the other one up there, Walter, please. The flesh, okay. See, look here. We get in the divine nature. We get to Canaanites. We go possess a land. Do you remember that? Huh? This is a land of peace and rest right there. You get to Canaanite nations, all of them, you got peace and rest. This is what Hebrews 3 and 4 is talking about. Amen? That's what we looked at today with the South here. All right. Now, see, let me tell you why it's Canaanite nations. Any of these things in your life that you're practicing and you won't give up. Now listen to me. You've got a power of darkness attached to it, which has got a stronghold. Are you hearing me? Front row, back row, Sunday school superintendent, whatever. It's there. If you practice it and won't overcome it, I'm telling you what, you've got a stronghold there. And you take the sword, the weapons in Ephesians 6, you overcome it. Then you take every thought captive of the obedience of Jesus. When you love the Lord with all your heart, you want to walk in love and love your neighbor. That's no big thing. You don't want any of that stuff right there when you love the Lord with all your heart. It's when you still love the world that you enjoy and welcome thoughts like this. Are you hearing me? So don't make any big deal out of it. The big deal about it is trying to walk with carnal doctrines and carnal people while you overcome. Are you hearing me? Okay, now. So here we go. It is for discipline, verse 7, that you endure. God deals with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? All right, now get your big pencil ready. For if you are without this discipline, of which all, that's the body of Christ, have become partakers, then you're illegitimate children and you're not sons of God. Is that plain? Listen. Anyone attaches their heart to a form of godliness, are they going to receive this kind of discipline? No, you don't have to be led by the Spirit of God to do all that suffering and dying to the flesh when you've got a form of godliness. And so what is that? What kind of sons did that make them? Is that what we saw there in Revelation 3? Isn't that right? They won't go to the fire and he said, come on through the fire and you'll be refined and have gold, right? You're naked, lost. Isn't that right? Okay, now. Let's continue. Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline and we respected them. Shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them. But the Lord disciplines us for our good that we may share His holiness and have a divine nature. Listen to me now. Look at me right now. Why is it He's disciplining us? We get whipped so we'll no longer practice these things. Isn't that right? In order that we can have a divine nature and we have a divine nature, we have the nature of God. You can't have the nature of God while you practice these things in your life. This is the reason 1 Peter 1, 14-16 says, As obedient children, you receive discipline, you are no longer conformed to your former lusts, which were yours and your ignorance when you walked in darkness. But now, like the Holy One, the Lord Jesus Christ, you're going to be holy in all, all, all, all, all, all your behavior because it is written you're going to be holy with a divine nature because I'm holy with a divine nature. What do you think about that? Right? But see, folks, we haven't been able to see these things in the Word of God a lot of them because we've been looking at the Bible through eternal vision. We've been looking, the only thing we see in the Bible is what fits in our box. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Huh? Okay. Now, that's what causes something to kick you. Amen? If it's got your heart, buddy, I mean, you'll nice your teeth there when you come to this right here. Either you have to repent or run, and I'll tell you that for sure. Now, all discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful. Now, I want you to remember this. When you're not joyful, you're not joyful when you're dying sometimes, but it's going to be what? I can't hear you. You're going to let somebody, Mr. Pride, come along and put you under condemnation because you're going through a valley right there? Pride will come and do it. He'll say, You just don't have faith. The devil will send him by. I'm going to tell you, it's sorrowful. You remember this verse. You better put it on your fridge. All the discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful. Yet to those who have been trained by it, trained by discipline, afterwards, it's going to yield the peaceful fruit of righteousness. What is the peaceful fruit of righteousness right there? Here is the peaceful fruit of righteousness, right here. After that is removed, then you're going to replace it. There's peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, purity. Let me see it. Afterwards, after the discipline, this has got peaceful. This is peaceful fruit right here. The other wasn't peaceful fruit. Amen? Amen? Don't be an illegitimate son, and you'll yield the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Amen? Now, therefore, now listen, folks. When you're walking, put the other one back up there, brother. When you're walking in these things right here, you know you get strongholds and the doors open, all kinds of things that get on you, you know, right? In other words, these are curses right here. When you're practicing these things, you're cursed. You're not blessed. And these things come on you, and they will, the enemy will get a lot of ground in your lives, right? So now I want you to remember right here. Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak, because they're the weak now, and the knees that are feeble. Why are your knees weak and feeble? Because you haven't been walking straight. You haven't been walking with God. See? You're walking the other direction now. Is that correct? Amen? And make what kind of path? I can't hear you. You make straight paths with your feet. Now, you're walking right. You're walking in discipline, so that the limb, which is lame, is going to now, it's not going to be put on a joint anymore, but it's going to be what? When you start dealing with sin. Are you seeing that? Your limb's not put out of joint anymore, but it's being healed. Is that right? Glory be to God. Now, are you seeing a way to health, and healing, and overcoming? It's the prayer of righteous people, availeth much. You lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. You anoint with oil, and they will be restored. The prayer of righteous people, availeth much. Is this the ones that receive reproof and discipline? Are you seeing this? Huh? Now, folks, I'm going to tell you something. If someone's having a little problem with what I've been saying right here, I mean it with all my heart. I'm trying not to say this with any hostility toward anyone. I'm really taking your Bible, if you'll listen and have ears to hear. I'm going to tell you that this is how Babylon becomes a dwelling place of demons in the last days, because they practice the very things that give them ground to bring them in and destroy people. This is happening all over the place. There's a remnant that's calling out. So I don't want to seem like I'm smart or cute to you to try to get you, you know, I'm just good. You know, I don't feel good about that. How do you just pray for me and I can find a better way to teach it? Because I'm telling you, folks, we compromise, and we just dance around something. We don't want to hurt people's feelings when people go into hell and get destroyed all around us. You hear what I'm saying? So if in any way that I've come across in the flesh or anything like that, I ask you to forgive me and I ask the Lord to forgive me, but I'm going to tell you we're going to deal with everything in this Bible. Amen? And then when I miss the Bible, I want to know about it because I'll get on my face up here and repent about it. Amen? I don't have nothing but Jesus. I don't have nothing to jump into. I don't have nothing for you to join except Jesus. Amen? So I don't have any other motives. Now, so what do we want to do? We want to have a hedge around us, right? What did words say back in Romans 8? If you walk with your mind set on the flesh, it's death. Amen? But you walk after the Spirit, you're led by the Spirit of God, you're going to receive discipline. There's going to be life and peace. Well, look here in verse 14. Pursue what? Peace with all men and the what? Sanctification. Now, peace is when you have a hedge around you. You're walking in discipline and sanctification is... Look here. Sanctification is a process of purifying your heart. And without this sanctification, no one is what? I can't hear you. Does that make you a little serious? You're not going to see the Lord without sanctification. You know what Matthew 5 says? Blessed are the pure in heart because they're the ones that's going to see the Lord, right? Pure heart and sanctification is the same thing. Sanctification is a process of purification, purifying your heart. Now, folks, does that make it serious? Do you know this scripture is splayed in a way? Blind to it. Don't understand it. All right? Verse 15. See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that a root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble and many are going to be defiled. Let me ask you something. Look at me here. A root right here is root. You know the root like here, this root of the flesh right there, there's a root of pride, there's a root of greed, there's a root of bitterness. This is many diseases come in through that. All right, you get unforgiveness in your heart. See, you're not taught to overcome. People can come in this kind of a setting and walk out different doors. This is where we've all been deceived. I'm not trying to condemn anyone. I've been deceiving them, but I see something else different in the Bible right now. This is what I'm trying to tell you about. That we can come and sit on the Word of God and walk out different doors because of anger and unforgiveness toward one another. Now, see, there's something wrong with that. Because let me tell you, when you've got a root of bitterness, what are you going to do? You're going to become critical. Then you're going to go tell somebody, maybe about the pastor right here, some pastor or whatever. You go tell the pastor and tell someone about the pastor, maybe. Then the two of you go tell two more. There's four. Then the four of you go tell four more. And then there's eight of you defiled. Then eight of you go tell... Any time you ever got bitterness, you're going to go talk about somebody. You're going to load them up with words that were in you. And you're going to get everybody else bitter too, see? So it spreads throughout. And then the bitterness spreads and defiles many. We saw defile. You're defiled when the words come out of your heart. It speaks out of your mouth. Did we see that back in Mark 7? It's not what enters into your stomach that defiles you. It's what comes out of your heart, out of your mouth that defiles you. Amen? Is that what we saw? Let's read it again. See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that the root of bitterness spring up, causes trouble, and by it many are going to be what? Defiled. See, that's not the walk of peace. That's the very opposite of sanctification. Is that right? Now, look with me in Ephesians. Turn back to Ephesians. Well, let's just finish this in Revelation 3, where we are there, okay? Now, he's telling these people, who are already rich and increased in goods, he's telling them, I advise you to buy me gold, have a divine nature, refined by fire. Is that what we saw in verse 18? Let me say it again then. I advise you, verse 18, to buy me gold. Is that a divine nature? And the only way you can have a divine nature is to receive discipline and come to the fire and die. Is that correct? Right? That you may come rich. You're going to become rich in heaven. And white garments that you may clothe yourself. That's garments of salvation. And the shame of your necklace may not be revealed, and I say to not your eyes that you may see. Now, watch verse 19. He's telling them, that's already rich and increased in goods, those whom I love, I reprove and discipline. Now, is that making sense to you? You've got to be led by the Spirit of God to receive discipline and reproof because it's the Lord that perfects the divine nature in us. Be zealous, therefore, in what? Lay out to see all these deeds that you are rich and increased in goods, you better repent from them, as that's what the Lord's saying today to people involved in the form of godliness. Amen? Behold, Jesus said, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears the word of God, which is my voice, and opens the door, you have to open the door, you have to let him in, then he's going to come in and he's going to dine with him and he with me. You know what this is saying right here, folks? Said if you'll repent and let him come in, he'll start showing you what the Bible is. When he's dine, we're talking about dine, and we're talking about dining over spiritual bread. And then he'll start giving revelation, and he'll show you what the Bible says, but you have to repent. You have to repent, and then he'll bring you into discipline and reproof to lead you through the fire to have a divine nature. Are you seeing that? Amen? Okay, now, verse 21, He who what? One more time. He who what? Overcomes what? Look at me, folks. The world, the flesh, and the devil right here. He who overcomes, I'm going to grant to him who overcomes to sit down with me on my throne. As I overcame and sat down with my father on his throne, did we say that we are to walk as he walked? Amen? He who has what kind of ear? A spiritual ear. Let him hear what the Spirit is saying to who? Amen? Now, you see it? Huh? Now, turn back to Ephesians 5. We're going to see something about this sanctification. All right, Ephesians 5, we see right here in verse 1, Therefore be imitators of God, verse 2, walk in love, verse 3. Now, this is the church of Jesus Christ. You don't let immorality, you don't let any impurity, you don't let any greed even be named among you as proper among the saints. Is the saints a church? Okay, now let's continue in Bible. For this God says, you can know with certainty that no immoral man, that no impure person, can I tell you what an impure person is? Folks that have these things in their life, practicing sins of the flesh. No immoral person, no impure person are a covetous man who isn't a dollar. A dollar is one that practices and he won't give it up. He does not have an inheritance of the kingdom of Christ and God. How do you hook that up with a doctrine that does not conform you to God as it gives a false security? They tell you that you can walk with two natures of double mindedness. Tell me. See, you throw holiness right out the window when you do that. There's no holiness or righteousness for anyone who... Are you hearing what I'm saying? You don't have an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ. Now, God knew people could be deceived about this. This is what he said in the next verse. Let no one what? Deceive you with what? Empty words. Now, you know what empty words would be? Words that would be explained in a scriptural way like that one right above it right there. Ones that we've been saying. Are we saying with a word? They have to be explained the way they are in there, aren't they? Amen? Let no one deceive you with empty words because of these very things of what? The wrath of God comes on who? Sons of disobedience. Who are sons of disobedience? The ones that walk out to work as a flesh. All right. As these acts right here, the acts of the flesh break the law. And the law brings wrath. Is that right? Is this plain? Now, see, are you seeing why doctrines which do not conform you to God in this don't really know how to deal with the powers of darkness? They have to leave that part of the Bible alone or at best come and deal with the how little deliverance ministry on the side right there but you never deal with why are they there? They're there because people are practicing these sins right here underneath the powers of darkness attached to themselves that's how Babylon becomes a dwelling place of demons in the last days. Amen? Because he's rebelling to God. Say Jesus Christ is Lord and the Lord's not controlling her life. Sin is controlling her life. Right? Now, therefore verse 7 it warns you to what? I can't hear you. Don't be partakers with them. Verse 14 for this reason it says awake sleeper and arise from the dead and Christ's gonna shine on you. Folks, you know something? This is really hard. Let me tell you what some of you are going through back there. Going through the same thing I had to go through. When you see these truths in the word of God you have to deal with the fact of your family people you love you have to deal with friends nice people folks that you love more than anything else. That's what you have to deal with. The folks the problem comes when you don't love God more than anything else. When you don't love God more than anything else you can't be led into all truth. And folks, this is where we've all been. I'm sorry if there God, I ask you to forgive me if there's some anger that has come from my flesh while ago that's condemnation I ask you to forgive me, Lord. I sense maybe there was and I ask you to forgive me and I ask you all to forgive me. See, sometimes you can cross just over a little thin line and you can get into the flesh and something. And I'm really sorry. Now what I'm telling what I want to tell you about and I just want to say that God is showing us some things in the word. It's in your Bible right here. It's in context. And I'm going to tell you what we could go for three more weeks day and night and I could build right on top and just keep on and on and on and on. Now if you get past some of these basic things then you can understand the last days and some things like this. And I'm not insinuating that I have all the light because I don't have anything but Jesus. Jesus has got all the light. Amen. But the part is the foundation is my part right here. If the foundation hadn't been right folks the foundation hadn't been Jesus. And see and if you don't have the foundation right it's what 1 Corinthians 3 is talking about you won't go through the fire. You get the foundation right you're standing on the word of God you hear the word of God and you do it. Amen. So now here's what we're having to deal with. We're having to deal with family. See I want to tell you the word of God's going to separate you from your family. I'm just going to tell you. It'll separate you from the friends and when you start knowing how to get people free to get them see the reason people are in bondage and they're tormented and things like this is because these sins of the flesh are in their life. And when you have the knowledge to go lead them and take your Bible and start leading them into repentance then you can lead them into repentance and show them the truth then they can be free from these things and the powers of darkness have to leave them. So now what do the powers of darkness do? People that you can just be around just love all of a sudden they're going to turn their back on you. Let me tell you why they're going to turn their back on you. Family also. The powers of darkness have put all kinds of things in their mind against you. Because the powers of darkness don't want them around you because if you get around you they're going to know the truth and then the powers of darkness have to give up their house. So expect strange things to happen when you know the truth of how to get people free you see. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Well see let me show you where we're headed to. If you let the word of God separate us. Now I'm not saying where you go you might be separated in your kitchen you've got to find a place where you're going to learn the word of God and where you have fellowship with people that love one another. See Jesus Christ is going to build this church. I told somebody back then you know I have a mailing list of where I can send Bible studies. I told you I'm not going to be writing you asking you for money. But I can send other things that I can just send in the mail to you and things of that nature. But see people like you I could you know that you trust me because you feel like I'm telling you the truth the ones that just stay here and have stayed with me in the word and so forth you trust me. Now I could turn mine around now let me show this is why Pride and Greed has done this in the past. And I could look at this mailing list and I could I could get certain groups together in cities all across this country. And then I could start getting my people sent in. You know here Walter you know you can go be you can get to be you go over here and then you kind of scratch my back and I'll scratch yours and we'll puff each other to honor one another and then we become Lords over God's heritage. Are you hearing what I'm saying? See I don't sin people. I don't mess with it. The Spirit of God in Jesus Christ is putting this and He'll show you and tell you what to do. You see I'm trying to figure out what to do myself. Amen? You know we know a certain part of the word but let's don't go further than the word. Let's don't have all the answers when you got see we used to have all the answers when somebody got all the answers you don't have to be led by the Spirit of God. But I'm going to tell you just like the Ark of Jesus Christ you're going the way you haven't been before. Have you forgiven me for a little bit of hostility and everything I had to do? I'm really sorry. I haven't done that in a long time. I'm learning. I really I really am boy I don't be no stumbling block to people. Boy this is too serious. This is serious you understand that? I tell you what I get so mad about what the devil does and the way he uses people sometimes and you know it's a war to learn how to say I love the flesh. You know it? It really is because God's the only one that can work all this out. Boy I just want to jump right in the middle of it sometimes. You know in the flesh I'm learning just boy just more you love the more God does. Amen? Isn't that right brother? Now you better examine I don't know I don't know where you folks are from. I'm just reading the Bible up there. It's between you and God. So Awake sleeper and arise from the dead. Why are they dead? Because the judgment of God is on those who practice these sins and then Christ will shine on you. Verse 15 Therefore be careful how you walk be careful how you walk be careful how you walk not as an unwise man or a foolish man or a foolish virgin but you're going to walk as what? There's your wise virgin again. Now verse 27 Because Jesus is going to present to himself the church and all her glory this church of Jesus Christ is going to have no spot. This church of Jesus Christ is going to have no wrinkle or any such thing. This church of Jesus Christ is going to be holy and blameless. That's the reason it said don't be partakers with them and receive a false security. It's going to be holy. As a person spotless and blameless with these things in his life a form of godliness tells you it's alright we've already looked at it in James 3, 4 adulterous this reading is called the hearty. Cleanse your hands you sinners and purify your hearts you double minded. Well how do you become spotless? How do you become without a wrinkle? How do you become holy? How do you become blameless? We've been looking at it all week look at the verse above it. That he might Jesus is going to that he might sanctify her how do you sanctify her? It tells you right here in this verse having cleansed her by the washing of the water with the word. Folks now look at me people who have a form of godliness are not worse by the word of God. You know why? The Lord does not have their hearts. It's only when you love the Lord more than you do family sin, any sins of the flesh the world of the things in the world it's only then that this word of God is going to work on you. Now don't try to make it work any other way because you'll get into despair and confusion. We've been living defeated having our brains beat out a long time. Isn't that right? We're just trying to make some things work around some nice folks. And then you fall into the sin and error of the Pharisees. You love the approval of people rather than the approval of God. You're going to make it work. And it won't work. Now I'll tell you what we're going to do. The word is going to separate. And we're going to go to one another in love not condemnation. We're going to help one another. You're looking at a learner up here right now that needs help from the body of Christ. You can't know when I was talking just about the prayer a while ago what that means to me. Boy I'll tell you what. You can't know what these people in full gospel have meant to me here. They don't know. They just love me and that's what I wanted. Encourage me. See we need each other. Now what's going to happen? As we encourage and love one another and walk in this we're going to start getting our hearts purified, right? What did we see over there? Let me show you what happened. I get my meeting today mixed up but before. Turn to John 15 and I'll show you something. Now hold your place right there. I'm not through with that. John 15. Look at something right there. Jesus says now verse let's look at verse let's look at verse 2. Every branch in me that does not bear the fruit that's love. He takes away and every branch that bears fruit bears the fruit of love and if he's going to prune it that's going to bear more fruit. Right? So verse 4 he said continue in me. Now what it means abide in me. Look at me folks. Don't fall away and get your heart on nothing but loving the Lord with all your heart. Don't turn back. Don't let the worries of the world deceitful riches stop you from possessing the land. You go forward and you endure then. Glory be to God. Is that right? Right now. Continue in me and I in you as a branch that's you and me. You cannot bear fruit of itself. You can Look at me. You ever see a branch cut a branch off a tree and see it get by itself and try to bear fruit? Right? It cannot bear fruit of itself unless it continues. It continues. It continues. You know what the opposite of continuing is? Following the way. You continue in the vine. Folks, you've been on top into heaven walking about four foot off the ground and God just working in your life. You can't, I mean, you're so happy and joyful you can't understand it and then you get tangled up in these doctrines that do not conform you to God and it's back to the pits. Be careful what you listen to the parable of words there. Jesus said, verse 5, I'm the vine, you're the branches, he who continues in me and I in him. You're going to bear much fruit. Why? Because Jesus is going to lead you to put to death the deeds of the flesh so the divine nature be performed in you and your mind renewed. Amen? Okay. Now, for apart from me you can't do nothing. Look here, folks. A carnal doctrine, you're not led by the spirit of God. Don't act like you are. And you're trying to bear it. We get back to where Galatians was. You started out in the spirit and now you're going to be perfected in the flesh. You're having a doctrine that's contrary, a doctrine that's distorted and you expect to be. And then the whole part, the last part of Galatians is explaining that you have to put to death the deeds of the flesh. Amen? In order to be perfected in love. Walk with the spirit and you will not tear out the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5, 16. Amen? Now, that God in our Bible do not analyze. It's smart, folks, to see the powers of darkness behind this. Our ancestors have left out the powers of darkness. They didn't understand them. That's the reason we get all these doctrines that leave the powers of darkness out because they don't want to be dealt with. This defeats them. This gets people free. This gets them healed. Get on the straight path and the prayer of righteous people avail us much. Listen, folks. When we start walking in holiness and righteousness... Boy, I'm... Let me get this verse right here and I'm going to show you something. Whew! Verse 6. If anyone does not continue in me... If you don't continue... What's the opposite of continuing in the Lord in a word? Falling away. Do you understand you can sit on the front row and be a son, school, student, pretend you can preach and still not continue in the Lord? You know that, don't you? You're not going to continue in the Lord unless you encourage us to read 2 Timothy 2 to the fellowship of those who come to the Lord with a pure heart. Amen? That's the only way it works. If anyone does not continue in me, when you start falling away, you're going to go backwards. That means these things are going to come back in your life. Amen? When you don't continue in the Lord, the works of the flesh are going to continue in your life, you're breaking the law, and he's thrown away as a branch and he what? You dry... Listen, folks. You dry up when you're not receiving the word implanted. Amen? Now, look at me here. Somebody not looking. When you're not receiving the word implanted... See, I ain't letting no demons talk to you. We're going to stay with it. I'm going to keep you in the Word. When you don't receive the word implanted, you're not continuing in the Lord, that means your work operating over here. The powers of darkness will work something to get your heart going, get your love more in the Lord, and so you're operating over here, and then when the word's not... you're not receiving the word implanted, you dry up. The word's water. And a person does not receive the word implanted when something else has got his heart. Are you hearing what I'm saying? That's what the fallen away is. The fallen away is not to be perfected in love or sanctified. Amen? Hold up your hand if you see me. You look at me like a cave's a new gate. Okay. All right, now. If anyone does not continue in me, he's thrown away as a branch, and he dries up. That means withers. And they, that's them, the powers of darkness, they gather them and cast them into the fire. See, the hedge is down, and the powers of darkness move in, and they start destroying, and they are what? Burned. If you continue in me, now watch this. If you're going to continue in me, and my words continue in you, you can ask whatever you wish, and it's going to be done for you because the whole purpose in continuing in the word of God, right there, is this commandment of Jesus Christ in verse 11. See, verse 11, this is how you have, these things I spoke to you that my joy may be in you. You're not going to get joy in any other way. I know a man down here that brother makes down here. I didn't have to be around him no time. He's got joy all over. He'll slosh over everything that gets around him right here. A preacher and I went over at a barbecue place, and I'm going to tell you the only thing he thinks about it, Jesus. See, this is him right here. He's continuing in the Lord. He's continuing, and it's nothing real complicated about it. It's the simplicity and the purity of devotion to Christ. That's all it is. It's when you make it something complicated that the powers of darkness work you over. It's the simplicity and the purity of devotion to Christ, and the joy of the Lord comes with it. Now, verse 12. This is my commandment, that you love one another just as I have loved you. That's the divine nature, and you can't have it unless you continue in the Lord, which he said in the verses above. Verse 12. I mean verse 13. Greater love is no one than this, that one do what? Look at me, folks. Are you seeing what he's saying? You have to lay down your seppish ambition and life after flesh. You've got to hate your life after the flesh in this world. Amen? Of course, you love the Lord more than you do anything else going on. That's how you continue. Now, if you fall away, you're not going to lay down your life. If you don't continue in the Lord in the Word, you're not going to lay down your life. You're not going to receive reproof and discipline. You're not going to be sanctified. Amen? But then, if you continue in the Lord, look at verse 16. Verse 16, what happens if you continue in the Lord and you continue? Verse 16, it says, You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear what? Bear the fruit of love and what else does this verse say? That your fruit is going to remain. Folks, you don't turn back. You don't turn back. You don't fall away. You continue on with the Lord. Amen? And then, if you continue on, your fruit of love remains Whatever you ask in the Father, in my name, He's going to give it to you. Now, folks, when we get our lives cleaned up, we can start praying for that family. We can start praying for people. Let them see the light. Instead of getting a little light, a friend of mine said and tried to put it down their throats, let them see something they hadn't seen before. People that don't revile back. Amen? Let them see love. And then when you're walking in that love, see, let me just share something with you. See, I stop and repent when I sense the Lord not working. I was up here kind of examining a while ago if I got into a little hostility and went a little further in the Word because I was up here as grieved. I just didn't feel right. And see, when you start mixing the flesh here with what the Lord is teaching, see, then He won't work. You hear what I'm saying? But when I repented, the Lord forgave me and you forgave me and I ask you to forgive me, the Spirit of God began working again. All right, you hear what I'm saying? Well, it's the same way in your life. As long as you're doing something in love, God will work with everything you do. Even when you pray for the sick, it has to be out of the heart of compassion or it won't even work. Amen? Maybe the Lord let that happen. No, I'm not going to blame it on the Lord. I'll get more trouble. I'm a learner, I'm a learner. I told you I was a learner, didn't I? If you fall down, get back up again. Right? And just don't That's the only thing that matters. God's right. Let God be true and every man be a liar. Amen? All right, now let me tell you something, folks. When we're in an atmosphere of love, I'll remind you again, and we're exhorting, and this is what, you take the body of Christ, they know to do that. The Spirit of the devil can't get nowhere near you. But the moment you start talking about people and you start doing all these things right here, bang! Here are the powers of darkness move in, you're not peace, you're tore up all the time. And you wonder why you can't never have victory. Wonder why your prayers don't answer. So you have to wait till a man comes down so he'll pray for you. Have to go get somebody else to pray and you, phew, you got a defeated prayer life because your prayer just don't get answered. But if you're bearing fruit and your fruit remains, you're overcoming, you're enduring, and you love the Lord with all your heart. He wants to give you everything you desire. You know why? Your motives are to please the Lord. Isn't that right? Your motives are love. What did we, did we look back in James, I can't remember, did we look back in James three and four last night? Did we see how your prayers were not answered when you speak blessings and curses? Amen? Did we see that? Hold up your hand. Did we see that? Yes. All right, why does the Lord said you ask and you ask amiss because you want to consume it on yourself. Your motives are wrong. Your Bible just says your motives are wrong because you're still want, you're not, instead of dying to pride and greed and rebellion and selfishness, you're still wanting to live and walk in these things. Amen? Get your Bible and stand up here with me just a minute, okay? Now we're there in Ephesians five right there. And you can know with certainty that no immoral or impure person or covetous man or dolly has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ. Don't let anyone deceive you with empty words. So don't be partakers with them. Is that what your Bible says? Now how does it say that we're going to be sanctified? We say we're going to be sanctified by the washing of the water of the word. Is that right? Now I want everybody to look at me right here. I don't want you to miss this. You can't be sanctified by the word of God unless you love God more than you do everything else. Amen? You've got to want to please Him more than the world. You want the world, the things in the world, the approval of men, nice folks, family, friends, the part that you don't want to give up is where the powers and irons will come in and work on you. And they can't touch you. And I'm going to tell you what happens to you. And if you go ahead and begin being sanctified, you can start praying for your friends. You can start praying for your family. And that's something we've not been real accustomed to of getting all our prayers answered. Lord, I want the whole bunch of us saved. We start being a tree of life instead of a tree of death. God worked with you and everything He put your hands to. He blessed us. You know why? Because your motives quit being the nature of the devil. Your motive became the nature of God. You and God think and walk and talk alike. He's got angels and everything else. Just wait on your sons of God. Amen? Glory be to God. That's good, isn't it? Now listen, folks. The Lord's saying, Lonnie, I'm not ready to push, you know, to do away with people that don't see things like I see them. I'm not really, I'm not really hating people that don't see things like that. But I'm hating these doctrines and things that's come out of our past that's contrary to that. And you know, I don't get excited about a man that wants to, when he can hear the truth, he turns from it and still wants to block people. Now, John the Baptist called them snakes and vipers and after they heard the truth. But see, a lot of them are blocked from hearing the truth right now. You understand what I mean? Have we at some time been blocked from hearing the truth? Is that true? Why do we know the truth? It's because of the grace of God. Isn't that right? So we want them to have the same grace. So what do we do? When we revile, we don't revile back. Is that right? If we just walk in love. Amen? Praise God. And see, that's something we're going to learn together. I'm glad I've got the people around me. I've got around me. It helps me to learn that. All right. Now, let's turn to 1 John 3. 1 John 3. 1 John 3. Verse 4. Everyone who practices sin... In other words, when you practice it, you make it idolatry. Amen? You won't give it up. 1 John 3. I'm sorry. Will you just wait just a second? 1 John 3. Verse 4. Everyone who practices sin... Are they breaking the law? So they're practicing what? Lawlessness. Amen? All right. Look up here so we know what sin is. This is what we're talking about over there in Ephesians. You know, if you practice sin, we talked about last night, you're practicing sin, you're practicing lawlessness because sin is lawlessness. Now, look here. Watch very closely. Verse 7. Little children, let no one deceive you. The one who practices righteousness is the one who is what? The one who practices righteousness is the one who is right. Now, don't try to help nice folks righteous when they're not practicing righteousness. Amen? Now, in verse 8. The one who practices sin or continues to practice the sins of flesh and won't overcome them is of who? Devil. Verse 9. No one who is born of God does what? They do not practice sin. Verse 10. By this, the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious. Anyone who does not practice righteousness, in other words, continue practicing sin, is not of God. Is that plain? They're not of God. And of course, anybody who practices sin does not love his brother. If you practice these things right here, you're still walking in selfishness. And so, nor the one who does not love his brother. Amen? Now, we see something about that sanctification. Now, I want you to turn me quickly now back to Romans 6. You want to sit back down there please just a minute? Turn back to Romans 6. Now, you'll notice sometimes I come back with the same things kind of over and over, don't I? Do you notice that when I come back over them you get them clearer and clearer and clearer, right? You get a little the first time and I come back again you see it clear and I come back, that's the reason I keep coming back. Amen? I haven't lost my place. Amen. Romans 6 verse 1. Well, I'm going to tell you in the body of Christ there's no big shots except Jesus. Amen. All the disciples are learners and they love and help one another. We see, and we see some of our hurtness not where we all want to go over and help them. Whosoever will. We don't have motives of pride and greed we just want to help the important ones. Partiality. Partiality breaks the law, James 2. Amen? Okay. Your motives are wrong. Now, Romans 6 verse 1. What shall we say then? Are we continue, are we going to continue in sin or practice sin that grace might increase? May it never be how you died to sin and still live in it. Verse 15. Well, what then? Shall we sin because we are no longer under the law but under grace? May it never be that plain but thanks be to God though you were slaves of sin you've now become obedient from the heart to the gospel. The form of teaching of which you are now committed and now having been freed from sin you are slaves of love. You're slaves of righteousness being sanctified. Amen? Now, verse 19. I don't want you to miss this. Now, I'm speaking in human terms. I'm speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh for just as you presented your members you were slaves of what? That's the sins of the flesh and when you walk sins of flesh this is lawlessness. Is that correct? Resulting in further lawlessness so now you're presenting your members as slaves of righteousness and in the spirit of God's leading you to be perfected in love you put to death the deeds of flesh and what does it result in? Sanctification. Verse 22. But now having been freed from sin you're no longer sin you've purified your heart you're now enslaved to God you walk by the spirit you will not carry out the desires of the flesh you're enslaved to God and you derive your new benefit which results in what? Sanctification. The outcome of this sanctification is what? Eternal life. Now, folks are you beginning to see in the divine nature God commands us to go possess the land? Now, you're learning some fear of God too, right? Amen? Amen? And not a lot of speculation involved in this, is it? The sanctification results in eternal life. Let me ask you something. What does it say in Hebrews 12? Without this sanctification you'll not see the Lord. Is that right? So you better pursue peace. You're not having peace unless you're led by the spirit of God and walk in obedience and fulfill the law. Is that correct? Well, I want you to see something with me. Now, turn back to Matthew 7 with me. Now, folks, this is in your Bible, isn't it? I'm saying, is this in context? I'm saying the word of God, aren't I? Right now, Matthew 7. Folks, this word's going to upset all of us when you find out all of a sudden you have to give up the flesh and be holy. But see, listen, folks. Let me tell you something. You know why that pastor and I have had a good time here together? We hadn't had any, I haven't had any deceit, anything I was wanting to use him for and he hadn't had anything he wanted to use me for. I can feel tension and he can too. You can too. It's when your motive's getting wrong. But when everybody loves the Lord with all their heart, guess who stands in the middle of his church? Everything is revolving around Jesus. And so, you know, when you're building anything, it's a bunch of junk to want to build your ministry. You go to hell that way. Right? You want to get a little greed going and build you some treasures here? You know this part of the word? Who wants to go to hell over some stone and wood? Are you hearing what I'm saying? What do you think this fear of God's driving you to? Does it drive you to me? Everything I've said this week, has it been love? Does it point to love? Does it drive you to the Word of God and to Jesus? Or does it drive you to somebody's ministry? There you go. That's the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God always drives you to Jesus and the Word of God. Now, I'm going to tell you what Jesus Christ is demanding to stand in the center of his church. It's a new day. Folks, let me tell you something. We're just now getting our eyes open. There's so much more that we haven't seen about this Word of God he's going to put on us. I'm going to tell you what we're going to... We're not even going to want to sleep. I'm going to tell you something, folks. Don't settle down and start another denomination because I heard a friend say there's already enough of them to prove we don't love one another. Right? Okay. Now... Now, we saw this sanctification. Now, look at verse 17. Matthew 7, verse 17. Even so, every good tree bears what? Good fruit, but the bad tree is going to bear what? All right. Now, look at me, folks. Somebody not looking. Now, look at me. Don't listen to something. Look at me. We're going to get the rest of that Bible in a minute. I know you're excited about it. I am, too. But listen now. A good tree bears what kind of fruit? What would that fruit be? Fruit of love because it puts to death the deeds of the flesh. Is that right? But the bad tree bears the fruit of what? There it is right there. Anger, worry, hatred, criticism. See, his motives are wrong. His motives are not love. Selfishness. They bear bad fruit. Now, you got two different kind of trees, right? All right. Now, the one that bears the fruit, the good fruit, has he been sanctified? He's been led by the Spirit of God and controlled by the Spirit of God. Is that correct? Amen? Now, verse 18. A good tree cannot produce the works of the flesh because the Spirit of God controls his life. In other words, a good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce what? Good fruit. Now, I want you... Now, you see, look at me, folks. Look at me right here again. If the root is Jesus, if you love the Lord with all your heart, all your motives are going to please the Lord and you're not going to do these things. You're going to overcome them. And if you make a mistake, you're going to repent and get back up again and overcome it, right? Now, a person whose root is still tied to the root of the flesh right there, he cannot bear the fruit of love, joy, peace, long supper, and he's trying to do it on his own. And it'll never work. Now, you see what I'm saying? Now, you got two trees. One bears the fruit of God and one doesn't bear the fruit of God. Now, I want you to look at verse 21. We're going to tie together this sanctification. Look at verse 21. Not everyone is going to who says to me what? Lord, Lord, is going to enter the kingdom of heaven. Does that make sense? Look at me. Do you know that some of you are going to bear the wrong fruit? They're going to say Lord, Lord, and they're not going to enter the kingdom of heaven. They think Jesus Christ is Lord, but the one who does what? Will my Father in heaven is going to is the one who's going to enter in the kingdom of heaven. Is that right? I can't hear you. All right, listen to me. Look at me. You had two different trees there. You got one that says Lord, Lord, and he can't enter in the kingdom of heaven because he bears the wrong fruit, right? But the other one who does the will of God, he's a good tree and he's going to go in heaven. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Are you with me right now? Now, hold your place right there and I want you to turn over. We know what the will of God is again, don't we? 1 Thessalonians 4. Turn over to the right. 1 Thessalonians 4. Praise God. Praise God. 1 Thessalonians 4. Now, let me ask you something. We do want to go to heaven, don't we? We don't want to be one of those last days that say Lord, Lord, and don't go to heaven. Is that right? Is that right? All right, now. But who goes to heaven? The one that does what? Will of God. I wonder what the will of God is. I'm glad you asked me. Look at verse 3. One more time. The will of God is what? Sanctification. Without this sanctification, we already saw it. You can't see the Lord. So the ones who are sanctified is do the will of God and they're the ones who go to heaven. The others are going to say Lord, Lord. Is that what your Bible said? Let's see how it explains sanctification. Look there in verse 4. Not in what? I can't hear you. Is this lustful passion right up here? It's not in that. You possess that body. You're a receiver of proof in this world. You're not an illegitimate son You're not in lustful passion like the world out there. The Gentiles who do not know God. You've repented from these things and you're not, you know, you haven't forgot your form of purification. Now you're walking in overcoming. Amen? And you're not going to fall away or turn back. Amen? Ain't nothing complicated about that. Now what do you think happens if you do turn back and you have anger, unforgiveness, and something towards your brother? Right? You're going to lose your peace. Isn't that right? And if you continue it, you're going to be destroyed. Is that right? Because you break God's law. Now look there in verse 6. Now listen to me, folks. All the sins of the flesh transgress the law and defraud your brother. Are you hearing me? Right? All right. Because as being sanctified, you do away with these sins of the flesh. That no man transgress and defraud his brother in the matter because the Lord is a what? He is avenger. He'll raise the hedge on you. He'll lower the hedge, rather. Because the Lord is avenger in all these things just as He also told you before. And what is He doing right now? He is solemnly warning you. Amen? Okay, now. For God has not called us for the purpose of what? Impurity. What did we read? Look at me here. What did we read back in Romans 6, verse 19? We said, in the former, we presented our members to impurity and lawlessness. We used to go, let our members, and those things, we're ashamed now, right? But now, we give our members over to righteousness which results in sanctification and sanctification which is eternal life. Pure heart. Possess the land. Enter in the land of peace and rest. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Now, don't sit there and let some devil make something real complicated out of that. It's the simplicity and the purity of devotion to Christ. What you have to do is stop loving everything else more than the Lord. You're alright as long as you love the Lord more than anything else. But when you don't stop loving the Lord more than anything else, and you listen to the devil, then you'll stop obeying him. If you make a mistake, the Lord will show you. He'll lower the hedges and here they'll come. Amen? He's going to teach you because he loves you. So, listen to me. Boy, that's so good. Remember, when you're chastised, don't listen to something, God, you missed God. God's gone. I'm sorrowful. I'm not joyful right now. God's left me. I'm not even saved. You listen to all that? You see what I mean? God disciplines those he loves. The rest are destroyed from this earth. So, when you're whipped, when you make a mistake, which everyone in here do, we have to unlearn a bunch. God's got a lot of patience. If he didn't, I wouldn't be standing up here now. I mean, he's got more than I can comprehend. I might be sending more mercy and grace than anybody in here. But see, he knows what he wants us to do is keep coming back to the light. If you fall down, keep coming back. If you fall down, get back up again and say, don't listen to this junk up here. God loves you. But see, it was futility before when we was trying to walk two different directions because there's no victory in it. You don't get your prayers answered and people get destroyed and you get programmed to manipulate and act like God's there when he's not in 25 miles of the place. We get programmed because we want to serve the Lord but we've been serving him with some gods under our saddle.
