Printed Upon His Hand
John 11:25A soldier’s blood-bound hand on the Bible showed faith in Christ’s resurrection power.
During one of the European Wars a soldier who was wounded managed to crawl away from the place where he fell and reached his tent. When he was found he was on his face. Beneath him was the Bible, and on its open pages his hand rested. When his hand was lifted, it was found to be glued by his life’s blood to the book. The letters of the page were printed upon his hand and read thus: “I am the Resurrection and the Life: he that believeth on Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” It was with this verse on his hand that he was laid in a soldier’s grave.
