Do It Now!
Hebrews 13:9It is a good thing that the heart be established with grace. — Hebrews 13:9.
And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them … See that ye hasten the matter. — 2 Chron. 24:5.
If we do the duty that lies nearest at hand, simple and easy, the next duty will become clearer. True success in life comes from doing what lies close to us. The inclination to put off, to procrastinate, must be fought. By doing our work which lies clearly at hand we progress. It is easy enough to envy the man who has arrived at the top of the mountain, but it should be remembered that he started to climb at the bottom.
Shun delays, they breed remorse;
Take thy time while time is lent thee:
Creeping snails have weakest force;
Fly their fault lest thou repent thee.
Works adjourned have many stays;
Long demurs breed new delays. — Robert Southwell.
