Deuteronomy 2:1-37

Deuteronomy 1:6-46; Deuteronomy 2:1-37; Deuteronomy 3:1-291. Principal Incidents of the Wilderness Journey Showing the Providential Leading of God (Deuteronomy 1:6-46; Deuteronomy 2:1-37; Deuteronomy 3:1-29) The train of events from Horeb to Kadesh-barnea are reviewed. In these chapters we see the real reason why the people were turned back, a reason which is not clearly given in the book of Numbers. We also have a clear explanation given to us with reference to the trouble arising because of the appointment of the twelve spies. The whole matter is retrospective and reviews the events preceding the thirty-eight years of wandering (Deuteronomy 1:6-46) and the events during the thirty-eight years of wandering (Deuteronomy 2:1-37; Deuteronomy 3:1-29).
