Gen. 38:28, etc. “Zarah put his hand out first, but Pharez, from whom came Christ, broke forth before him.” This imports much the same thing as Isaac’s casting out Ishmael, as Jacob’s taking hold of Esau’s heel when they were born, and afterwards getting his birth-right of him, and as David’s getting the kingdom from Saul.
