they drave not cut] They brought them into subjection, but did not quite expell them, herein sinning against Gods expresse command, Deuteronomy 7:2. Judg. 1. 29.

this day] 1: e. When the author wrote this history; yea, to the dayes of Solomon, when the king of Egypt subdued it, and gave it to his daughter, Solomons wife, 1 Kings 9:16.
