Sermon On The Mount Starting With Beatitudes (Luke 6:20-23) (Matthew 5:1-12)
20And turning His gaze toward His disciples, Hebeganto say, “Blessedareyouwho arepoor, for yours is the kingdom of God.21“Blessedareyou who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessedareyou who weep now, for you shall laugh.22“Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.23“Be glad in that day and leapfor joy,for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.
1When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him.2He opened His mouth andHe was teaching them, saying, 3“Supremely blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4“Supremely blessed are those mourning, for they shall be comforted.
5“Supremely blessed are those having God’s strength in gentleness, for they shall inherit the earth.
6“Supremely blessed are those hungering and thirsting for righteousness, for they shall be fed and satisfied.
7“Supremely blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8“Supremely blessed are the cleansed, those now pure in heart, for they shall spiritually see God.
9“Supremely blessed are the peacemakers, the ones who proclaim God’s peace, for they shall be called the children of God.
10“Supremely blessed are those who have been persecuted on account of righteousness
11“Supremely blessed are you whenpeopleinsult you and persecute you, saying all kinds of evil against you, lying on account of Me.12“Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
