31They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben-hinnom so they could burn their sons and daughters in the fire—something I never commanded, nor did it even enter My mind. 32So behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when this place will no longer be called Topheth and the Valley of Ben-hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter. Jeremiah 7:30 Summary
Jeremiah 7:30 tells us that the people of Judah did very bad things in God's eyes, and they even brought these bad things into the temple, which was a special place for worshiping God (as seen in Psalm 89:7). This made God very sad and angry, because He wants His people to be holy and separate from the sinful things of the world (Leviticus 20:26). We can learn from this verse that God hates sin and wants us to live pure lives, and we should strive to keep our own hearts and worship pure, just like Jesus taught in Matthew 5:8. By doing so, we can show our love and reverence for God's holy Name.
