7And in this place I will ruin the plans of Judah and Jerusalem. I will make them fall by the sword before their enemies, by the hands of those who seek their lives, and I will give their carcasses as food to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth. 8I will make this city a desolation and an object of scorn. All who pass by will be appalled and will scoff at all her wounds.Cross References

Jeremiah 19:6 Summary
This verse is saying that God is going to judge the people for their sinful practices, and the place where they are committing these sins will be renamed to reflect the consequences of their actions. This is a reminder that our actions have consequences, and that God is just and will punish sin, as seen in Jeremiah 18:11 and Ezekiel 18:4. Just like the people in Jeremiah's time, we need to be careful not to tolerate or participate in sinful practices, and instead turn to God and seek His mercy and forgiveness, as encouraged in 1 John 1:9.
