6 Bible Verses on Timing

6 verses

In God's sovereign plan, every event unfolds at its appointed time. The book of Ecclesiastes reminds us that "there is a time for everything" (Ecclesiastes 3:1), highlighting the divine rhythm of life. Psalms and Habakkuk encourage trust in God's timing, even when circumstances seem uncertain, as expressed in Psalms 31:14-15 and Habakkuk 2:3. Jesus Himself taught that only the Father knows the timing of key events, as seen in Matthew 24:36, while Genesis 18:14 demonstrates God's ability to bring about the impossible at the perfect moment.

To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:
But I trust in You, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in Your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.
For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay.
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Is anything too difficult for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you—in about a year—and Sarah will have a son.”
I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
