14 Bible Verses on Stealing

14 verses

The act of taking something that does not belong to us is condemned throughout Scripture. In Exodus 20:15 and Leviticus 19:11, God's law explicitly prohibits stealing, emphasizing the importance of respecting others' property. The book of Proverbs warns that ill-gotten gains will ultimately prove worthless, while Exodus 22:7 holds individuals accountable for their actions, requiring restitution for stolen goods. Additionally, Ephesians 4:28 encourages believers to work honestly and give generously, rather than resorting to theft, promoting a lifestyle of integrity and trustworthiness.
