In the midst of suffering, the Bible offers comfort and hope to those experiencing sorrow. According to Revelation 21:4, a future day is coming when God will wipe away all tears, and sorrow will be no more. Until then, Jesus' words in John 16:33 remind believers that they will face tribulation, but He has overcome the world. The Psalms, such as Psalms 30:5, express the fleeting nature of sorrow, while Romans 8:18 and 2 Corinthians 7:10 provide perspective on the temporary nature of earthly troubles in light of eternal glory. Sorrow is not absent, but it is not without purpose or hope.
