Turning away from sin and towards God is a central theme in the Bible, emphasized by Jesus' call to "repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). The apostle Peter urged people to "repent and return" to God, promising forgiveness and a fresh start (Acts 2:38, 3:19). God's desire is for all people to come to repentance, as expressed in 2 Peter 3:9, and He promises to heal and restore those who humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways (2 Chronicles 7:14). Through repentance, individuals can experience spiritual renewal and a deeper relationship with God.
