11 Bible Verses on Mourning

11 verses

In times of sorrow and loss, the Bible offers comfort and hope to those who mourn. Jesus teaches that those who mourn are blessed, for they will be comforted, as seen in the Beatitudes in Matthew. The Psalms also acknowledge God's nearness to the brokenhearted, with Psalms 34 expressing that He is close to those who are crushed in spirit. Ultimately, Revelation promises a future where God will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more death or mourning, a truth that brings hope to believers, as expressed in 1 Thessalonians and illustrated in Jesus' interaction with Martha in John.
