11 Bible Verses on Keeping Promises

11 verses

Scripture emphasizes the importance of integrity and reliability in one's words and commitments. In Numbers, the Lord instructs the Israelites to uphold their vows, while Psalms affirms God's own faithfulness to His promises. The wisdom literature, such as Ecclesiastes, cautions against making rash oaths, and Jesus teaches in Matthew that one's yes should be yes, and no, no. The apostle Peter also reminds believers that God is patient and faithful, as seen in 2 Peter, underscoring the value of keeping promises as a reflection of God's own character.
