7 Bible Verses on Doing What Is Right

7 verses

Living a life of righteousness is a fundamental aspect of the Christian walk, as God calls believers to uphold justice and morality. The prophet Isaiah exhorts the people to "learn to do right" and "seek justice," emphasizing the importance of ethical living. The New Testament reinforces this message, with James warning that those who know what is right but fail to do it commit sin, and 1 John encouraging believers to confess their wrongdoing and seek forgiveness. As Galatians and Ephesians teach, doing what is right is a fruit of living in harmony with God's will, and believers are encouraged to persevere in good deeds, following the example of Christ.

Learn to do right; seek justice and correct the oppressor. Defend the fatherless and plead the case of the widow.”
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do, yet fails to do it, is guilty of sin.
Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children,
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
At the end of seven days the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from My mouth, give them a warning from Me. If I say to the wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ but you do not warn him or speak out to warn him from his wicked way to save his life, that wicked man will die in his iniquity, and I will hold you responsible for his blood. But if you warn a wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness and his wicked way, he will die in his iniquity, but you will have saved yourself. Now if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. If you did not warn him, he will die in his sin, and the righteous acts he did will not be remembered. And I will hold you responsible for his blood. But if you warn the righteous man not to sin, and he does not sin, he will indeed live because he heeded your warning, and you will have saved yourself.”
