16 Bible Verses on Deliverance

16 verses

In times of distress, the Bible teaches that God is a faithful deliverer who rescues His people from trouble. The Psalms, such as Psalms 34:17 and Psalms 107:6, express confidence in God's ability to save those who call upon Him. David's experience, recorded in 2 Samuel 22:2, exemplifies this truth, as he proclaimed God to be his rock and salvation. Through prayer and trust, believers can experience deliverance from their fears and troubles, as seen in Psalms 34:4 and Psalms 50:15, where God invites His people to call upon Him in their time of need.

For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.

Then you will know that I am present in Israel and that I am the LORD your God, and there is no other. My people will never again be put to shame.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the calamity that destroys at noon. Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you. You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD your dwelling— my refuge, the Most High— no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
