Through spiritual rebirth, believers experience a profound transformation, as taught in Scripture. According to John 3:5, this new life is made possible by the work of the Holy Spirit, and as noted in 1 Peter 3:18-22, it is rooted in the redeeming work of Christ. The apostle Peter also emphasizes the importance of repentance and baptism, as seen in Acts 2:38-39, while Jesus Himself teaches that only those who do the will of God can enter the kingdom of heaven, as stated in Matthew 7:21. This spiritual renewal is a gift from God, made possible through the divine Word, as proclaimed in John 1:1.

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit, in whom He also went and preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through water. And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him.
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise belongs to you and your children and to all who are far off—to all whom the Lord our God will call to Himself.”
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
