15 Bible Verses on Being a Man

15 verses

According to Scripture, a man of God is one who embodies courage, strength, and wisdom. In 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, believers are urged to be watchful, stand firm in the faith, and be courageous, while Psalms 1:1-6 describes the blessed man who delights in God's law and meditates on it day and night. The apostle Paul instructs men to be examples of good deeds in Titus 2:7, and to put away childish ways as they mature in their faith, as seen in 1 Corinthians 13:11. Joshua 1:9 reminds men to be strong and courageous, for God is with them wherever they go, guiding and empowering them to live a life of faith and integrity.

Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. Be strong. Do everything in love.
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does. Not so the wicked! For they are like chaff driven off by the wind. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD guards the path of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Titus 2:7
In everything, show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways.
Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me stray from Your commandments. I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O LORD; teach me Your statutes. With my lips I proclaim all the judgments of Your mouth. I rejoice in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches. I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways. I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
But you, O man of God, flee from these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. Be strong.
The steps of a man are ordered by the LORD who takes delight in his journey.
Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His body, of which He is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her
Hallelujah! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Light dawns in the darkness for the upright— for the gracious, compassionate, and righteous. It is well with the man who is generous and lends freely, whose affairs are guided by justice. Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous man will be remembered forever. He does not fear bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. His heart is assured; he does not fear, until he looks in triumph on his foes. He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be lifted high in honor. The wicked man will see and be grieved; he will gnash his teeth and waste away; the desires of the wicked will perish.
Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
