10 Bible Verses on Becoming More Like Christ

10 verses

As believers seek to deepen their walk with God, they are called to become more like Christ. According to 1 John 2:6, those who claim to abide in Him must walk as He walked, demonstrating a life of obedience and love. This transformation is made possible through the power of the Holy Spirit, as seen in Galatians 2:20, where Paul describes his own life as being crucified with Christ. The process of becoming like Christ is also described in Romans 12:1-2, where believers are urged to present themselves as living sacrifices, and in 2 Corinthians 3:18, where they are transformed into His image by the Spirit's work. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are created in Christ for good works, which we are to walk in, growing more like Him each day.

Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.
I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
You are to imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.
He must increase; I must decrease.
