This concept is exemplified in Romans 12:1-2, where the apostle Paul urges believers to offer their bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. As seen in Matthew 16:24-25, Jesus also teaches that following him requires denying oneself and taking up one's cross, demonstrating a willingness to forsake worldly desires for the sake of discipleship, and as the Psalmist writes, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27), illustrating the intimate relationship between God and those who are radically dedicated to him. Through such radical dedication, believers can experience the abundant life promised in John 10:10, where Jesus declares that he came to give life to the full.
