Gods Goodwill

1 sermons

God's goodwill is a profound theme woven throughout Scripture, revealing His benevolent nature and divine intentions towards humanity. From the very beginning, as seen in Genesis 1:31, God declared His creation 'very good,' establishing a foundation of His goodwill that permeates all of existence. This goodwill is ultimately embodied in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, where we see the fulfillment of God's promise to redeem and restore His creation (Isaiah 9:6). In the New Testament, Paul emphasizes this divine favor in Romans 8:28, assuring believers that 'all things work together for good to those who love God.' Such assurance is a testament to God's unwavering commitment to our welfare, even amidst trials and tribulations. Furthermore, Jesus exemplifies God's goodwill in His teachings, urging us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), reflecting the heart of God towards all people. The culmination of God's goodwill is ultimately found in His desire for reconciliation, as expressed in 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, where believers are called to be ambassadors of this goodwill, sharing the message of hope and restoration through Christ. Thus, understanding God's goodwill invites us to live in response to His grace, extending love and kindness to others.
