Global Judgment

1 sermons

Global judgment is a profound theme woven throughout Scripture, illustrating God's sovereignty and justice. In Genesis 6:5-7, we see the Lord's heart grieved by humanity's wickedness, leading to the decision to bring a great flood as a means of judgment. This event serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of sin and the seriousness with which God views moral decay. As the Apostle Peter writes in 2 Peter 3:9-10, God is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, yet the day of the Lord will come like a thief, bringing judgment upon the earth. This anticipation of global judgment is echoed in Revelation 20:11-15, where the final judgment is depicted, and all are held accountable for their deeds. The promise of restoration and renewal following judgment is also evident, as seen in Isaiah 65:17, where God declares He will create a new heaven and a new earth. Through these passages, we understand that global judgment is not merely an act of wrath but also a divine necessity to uphold righteousness and ultimately restore creation. Believers are called to live in light of this truth, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 12:36, that we will give an account for every careless word spoken, urging us to reflect God's love and justice in our lives.
