Fruit Bearing
In the Bible, "fruit bearing" is often a metaphor for the visible results of a person's faith and relationship with God. This concept is articulated primarily in the New Testament, particularly in John 15:1-8, where Jesus describes Himself as the vine and His followers as the branches. The act of bearing fruit signifies living a life that reflects God's character and purposes, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, which are collectively known as the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Moreover, fruit bearing can also refer to the actions and deeds that arise from a believer's faith, indicating growth in spiritual maturity and the impact of one's life on others. In Matthew 7:16-20, Jesus emphasizes that good trees produce good fruit, underscoring the idea that genuine faith will naturally manifest in good works. Thus, fruit bearing in the biblical context encompasses both the inner transformation of the believer through the Holy Spirit and the outward expression of that transformation in their interactions and contributions to the world.

Fruit Bearing Discipleship
By Paul Washer3.5K25:23Fruit BearingJHN 15:2In this sermon, the speaker focuses on the importance of the teachings found in John chapters 13 to 17, which are spoken by Jesus in the proximity of the cross. He emphasizes that being a disciple of Jesus is not a mechanical or self-willed endeavor, but rather a life flowing from a vital, intimate relationship with Him. The speaker highlights the concept of dependence on Jesus, using the metaphor of a branch and a vine. He explains that just as a branch cannot bear fruit or survive without being connected to the vine, Christians must recognize their absolute dependence on Jesus in order to bear fruit and live a powerful Christian life.
(John) Fruit Bearing
By Willie Mullan1.7K1:12:39Fruit BearingJHN 15:1In this sermon, the preacher emphasizes the importance of abiding in Jesus Christ. He quotes Jesus' words from John 15:5, where Jesus describes himself as the vine and believers as the branches. The preacher warns that if someone does not abide in Christ, they will become a barren branch and God will take them away. He uses the analogy of a child being disciplined by their mother to illustrate this point. The sermon focuses on the concept of the abiding life and highlights the repetition of the word "abide" in the passage. The preacher also mentions the possibility of being cast forth as a withered branch and being burned, emphasizing the seriousness of not abiding in Christ. The sermon concludes by emphasizing the importance of having love, joy, peace, and other fruits of the Spirit in one's life, which can only come from abiding in Christ.
