Bible College
The term "Bible College" does not appear in the Bible itself, as the concept of formal theological education as we understand it today developed much later in church history. However, the Bible does emphasize the importance of teaching and learning within the community of faith. For instance, in 2 Timothy 2:2, the Apostle Paul instructs Timothy to "entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others," highlighting the significance of discipleship and the transmission of biblical knowledge. In the early church, teaching was a central activity, as seen in Acts 2:42, where the believers devoted themselves "to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." This suggests that there was a structured form of instruction and community learning among the early Christians. Bible colleges, which aim to educate individuals in biblical studies and prepare them for ministry, can be seen as a modern extension of this biblical principle of teaching, equipping believers to understand Scripture and apply it in their lives and ministries.
