ἄδικος, (δίκη) (from Hesiod down); descriptive of one who violates or has violated justice: 1. unjust (of god as judge): Rom_3:5; Heb_6:10. 2. of one who breaks god's laws, unrighteous, sinful (see ἀδικία, 2): (1Co_6:9); opposed to δίκαιος, Mat_5:45; Act_24:15; 1Pe_3:18 : opposed to εὐσεβής, 2Pe_2:9; in this sense according to Jewish speech the gentiles are called ἄδικοι, 1Co_6:1 (see ἁμαρτωλός, b. β.). 3. specifically, of one who deals fraudulently with others, Luk_18:11; who is false to a trust, Luk_16:10 (opposed to πιστός); deceitful, μαμωνᾶς, ibid. Luk_16:11 (for other interpretations see ἀδικία, 2 b.).
