to treasure up, to keep safe to keep safe that which is of great value There are certain problems involved in the combination of ἀποθησαυρίζοντας and θεμέλιον, for this would constitute a type of mixed metaphor. In some languages, therefore, it may be useful to speak of θεμέλιον in 1TI 6:19 as ‘a help’ or even as ‘something valuable.’
