craftsman, designer ( Act_19:24 , al .), is applied to God first in Alexandrian Judaism (Sap 13:1), and once in the NT Heb_11:10 (see Moffatt ICC ad l .). From the papyri we may cite PSI VII. 854 .4 (B.C. 258 7) ἃ δὲ οὐκ ἔφασαν δ̣ύνασθ̣α̣[ι ] τεχνίταις , ib . II. 152 .6 (ii/A.D.) οἱ τεχνεῖται πολλὰ ψευδογραφοῦνται , P Oxy VIII. 1117 .12 ( c . The very rare τεχνίτευμα work of art, art, is found in OGIS 51 .12 (ii/B.C.) ἐκτενῶς ἑαυτὸν συνεπιδιδοὺς εἰς τὸ συναύξεσθαι τὸ τεχνίτευμα , cf. Aristeas 78 συνεχῶς ἐφ᾽ ἕκαστον ἐπιβαλλούσης τῆς διανοίας τεχνίτευμα , as the mind took in one by one each detail of the execution (Thackeray), with reference to the completion of gold and silver bowls.
